  • L'cie - L'cie are humans or shinigami that are branded by fal'cie and turned literally into puppets to do their bidding. L'cie, when branded, bare a certain look of brand somewhere on their body, it depends on which fal'cie does this, however, all brands are rectangular in shape and bare one closed eye in the center. A human or shinigami can be branded by an Cocoon or Pulse fal'cie, though normally a Cocoon as Pulse fal'cie are not able to leave pulse.

    • Human/Shinigami L'Cie - When a shinigami is turned into a L'cie, they lose the ability to use their sword completely and most all of their shinigami abilites, such as all their immense strength, speed abilities ect, and only until they fight their Eidolon or Eidigata can they regain their sword abilities, however, they do not gain their other abilities back. A human turned into a L'ice is no different, however, they gain slightly extra strengths.

    • L'cie Focus - Upon being branded, a L'cie, whether human or shinigami, are given a focus, to which they must complete in an unknown amount of time. Depending on the mental strength of the person, when branded they are shown a vision of their purpose, if the person is strong minded they can see the vision as clear as day and easily understand their purpose. If a L'cie fails their purpose before the eye on their brand opens, they will die.

    • Eidolons - When a shinigami is transformed into a L'cie, their ability to use their sword is taken from them all together. The only way to win it back is to defeat their Eidolon, which is a physical manifestation of their powers, yet not as strong. An Eidolon will appear when a L'cie loses sight of their focus are feels like giving up, or if they fail to realize their focus after a certain amount of time. Each Eidolon is different, depending on the person, however, only those with Bankai status actually have an Eidolon. Those who are of weaker power must fight their Eidigata, smaller less human looking creatures, though not as strong as Eidolons. An Ediolon or Eidigata cannot actually be physically harmed, rather, they must attack them enough times in order to fade the Gestalt bracelets on each. Each physical attack weakens the Gestalt bracelets, however, Eidolon's fight back and aim to kill the L'cie, though they are not strong, their attacks can still do damage. The most powerful Eidolon would be of the Captain Commander, to which it would take a great deal of physical strength to take it down. As soon as the bracelets are gone, the shinigami regains the full use of their sword plus the ability to summon their Eidolon. Eidolon's, when mastered, are extremely weak and mostly serve no purpose against tough enemies, however they posses an amazing healing ability, and upon their summoning the wielder can choose whether it should fight or heal him/her. Eidolons do not stay summoned for long and vanish after a minuet or two or instantly if using their healing ability. Eidigata's are less powerful and do not posses a healing technique. These abilities are the same with humans, however, humans only summon Eidolons, and can have them summoned for slightly longer if they do not use the healing technique. Eidolon's no matter who they fight cannot be killed, only with each hit their presence is reduced. They can be summoned every three hours.

  • The Fal'Cie - Fal'Cie are an existence beyond human comprehension, possessed of incredible magic power. The ones responsible for the maintaining of human life are also protectors of humanity, but there are others of their kind as well; the fal'Cie who dwell on Pulse and name themselves enemies of Eden and the Cocoon Fal'Cie. Just like L'cie, Fal'Cie have a focus, to protect Cocoon, this focus is what prevents them from stepping out of line, to do so would mean their immediate destruction.

    • Cocoon Fal'Cie - Cocoon fal'cie are considered the powerful and elegant of all fal'cie life. They watch over Cocoon. They are each tasked with a different work, and must carry it out to Eden's satisfaction. These fal'cie have no influences over anything other than that to which they were created for.

    • Pulse Fal'Cie - Pulse fal'cie are the banished/demoted fal'cie as dictated by Eden. Pulse is a lowly place that is not part of Cocoon, it resides in a separate dimension. Pulse fal'cie were at a time regular fal'cie but were deemed useless and replaced or simply were not willing to accept Eden's desires. They are sworn enemies of Cocoon and of the fal'cie Eden. They retain the normal powers of a regular fal'cie, however, when they brand a target they are known as 'Pulse L'cie' instead of Cocoon.

    • Fal'Cie Purposes - Each fal'cie is tasked with a different work. One fal'cie may watch over water pollution while another watches the temperatures of each season, while another is tasked with the seasons themselves. From water supply to water purification, from terrain landscaping to giving power to the sun, fal'cie governed everything natural occurring process on earth.

Cocoon Fal'Cie

  • Eden:

The namesake of Eden's capital, this fal'Cie directs the others of its kind who support the world's day-to-day existence. While Eden's other fal'Cie do not communicate with humans, Eden did in the past. Presiding over Cocoon's other fal'cie, she issues orders and directions to the other fal'cie. She also has the ability to create or demote other fal'cie when they have become obsolete in her eyes or if she believes that a new creation would serve as a better replacement, she denotes them as 'Pulse Fal'Cie' and banishes them to the realm of Pulse.

Eden is responsible for the administration and security of the Cocoon, running the countless complex operations that keeps the realm in existence, working as the nexus that connects the other fal'Cie and directs their power in sustaining life. As this requires untold amounts of energy, Eden siphons power from the sleeping fal'Cie Orphan located in a dimension Eden has created inside itself, called Orphan's Cradle.

  • Orphan:

The fal'Cie responsible for powering Eden and all of its fal'cie, the structure dependent on its life. Orphan represents the power of sunlight. Eden plans to have it slain now that she has connected all life in the world of the living to this mysterious fal'cie. Orphan was intended to die when Eden stopped using its power, which would cause all fal'cie life to cease.

  • Phoenix:

The fal'Cie in charge of Cocoon's weather and time, shining like a sun in the middle of Cocoon. It oversees numerous fal'Cie managing wind and rain.

  • Carbuncle:

Responsible for the production of life and vegetation in Cocoon, giving beauty to the landscape.

  • Kujata:

Provides Cocoon with power. Located at Euride Gorge.

  • Barthandelus:

The only of its kind, a fal'cie and a L'cie. Barthandelus is Eden's messenger and the only fal'cie that is able to change to a human form. Barthandelus is a hybrid, created by Eden to carry out certain tasks secret to the other fal'cie. Barthandelus has next to no power, though retains the ability all fal'cie have, immortality. He is the only fal'cie that is aware of Eden's plans. He has disguised himself as Lord Dysley, high Monarch of Cocoon, acting as leader.

  • Nemesis:

The purpose of this fal'cie is unknown.

  • Ramuh:

Tasked with the creation of structures to create a beautiful landscape in which the other fal'cie feel is fit for their existence.

  • Gilgamesh:

The purpose of this fal'cie is unknown, however, it is said that he may have something to do with the destruction of dead organisms that may be in Cocoon.

Pulse Fal'Cie

  • Anima:

The purpose of this fal'cie was never established. It was banished by Eden long ago.

  • Atomos:

A spherical fal'Cie who digs underground passages in Mah'habara, a place in pulse. Atomos was banished from Cocoon due to his purpose being useless. He continues digging in Pulse.

  • Bismarck:

Responsible for protecting the Sulyya Springs and producing vegetation. Anyone who tries to trespass into the waters is mercilessly eliminated. He was replaced by Carbuncle.

  • Titan:

Forces an artificial selection process to produce more powerful species on Pulse. He is the largest fal'cie on pulse or Cocoon at a time.
  • Dahaka:

A giant fal'cie to who's purpose was never clear. He was the first to be banished to pulse. It soars the skies daily looking for something, perhaps pertaining to his purpose.

  • Other Altered Life - Eden, over the decades, has attempted to create actual normal humans, however, she has failed, and instead, created monstrosities, creatures of abnormal power and strength. These creatures roam everywhere, there are limitless numbers of these monsters around Cocoon and they hide in wait to attack.
