Story so far... following Link.
Let the story begin. We find Link at the fountain of the great faerie. Receiving a potion that he was requested to get by random town's folk.
(going into Link's perspective now)
I walked out from the faerie's cave and looked at the potion. I had to figure a way to keep from mixing it up with one of my own potions... it had the same color to it as my own health potions. I decided to stick a piece of paper on it with a big "T" on it to keep it apart from the rest. With that out of the way, it was a long walk back to the townsfolk who wanted it.
On the travel back it started to get late, not many monsters seemed to be out so it seemed like the best time to set up a small camp. Gathering wood for a fire, and making a soft spot with leaves and such for a bed. The sun had set and the fire was roaring. No telling what time it may have been, but it was time to rest for the trek back to town tomorrow.
-Nothing unusual happens over night.
-Someone switches the potions around. (following this option)
-Something else.
While I slept in the night, unbeknown to me someone has swapped the labels on my potions.
Come the sun rise, I got up and stretched. Seeing nothing but red coals left for my fire, I kicked some dirt onto it to put it own the rest of the way. Continuing on my journey back it was all quiet and peaceful, except for a single octorock which happened to take me by surprise. Not much of a fight, but still nicked me pretty badly for a surprise attack. Not worrying about it, I continued on the way back to town. Upon arriving...
-Simply deliever the potion (wrong one)
-Drink my health potion (wrong one) (following this option)
-Get distracted by a chicken running past.
I got to town and quickly drank my health potion. Not wanting to show up all beaten and battered to the person when I deliver their potion. I go to their house and enter. Handing the potion over to the woman who requested I get it for her, being paid 100 rupees for my efforts. I watch as the lady quickly drinks the potion and then thanks me for the effort.
-She tells me what the potion was. (following this option)
-I visit town a week later and she wants her rupees back.
"Why thank you so much Link, this potion will change my life if it really works. Not that I doubt the powers of the great faerie, but you never know. If all goes well, I will be having a child despite being a lonely woman. They sure can work wonders with potions, those faeries." She continued to thank me a while before I left. It was nice to see she was happy to get her potion. Not really wondering how she got the faeries to make the potion though... usually it is a give and receive policy with them.
-I start to feel strange as I leave town.
-Go back to the faeries and ask what she had to do to get the potion. (following this option)
I travel all the way back to the faerie cave, nothing getting in my way on the trip. Tossing in ten rupees to the fountain, the great faerie appears in front of me. "Excuse me... but... can you tell me what that woman in town had to do to get the potion from you?" She stayed silent for a moment. "I know you usually ask for something first, or something in return... I was only wondering-" She raised her hand to stop my short.
"I shall tell you. As you know faeries don't just magically appear. With her request for a child, we too need more children. She agreed to help bare faerie children with her own. So if she wished to keep one upon birth, it would turn to a human child and not be a faerie. Meanwhile the others would return to me as my children." She took a pause, starting to fade away. "As not to overwhelm her, she would only carry a dozen of my children, much smaller than most human infants, but plenty enough." With that last fact she faded away.
-Leave to go home. (following this option)
-Leave to visit someone.
With that knowledge and the fact that the faerie has left, I leave the faerie cave. Heading back for home, which was a much longer journey than to town. On the night of the first day back to home I stopped in an opening in the woods to set up camp. Roasting up some natural fruits and berries found nearby. Resting and relaxing till the next day. As I continued my journey home...
-Navi "Hey! Listen!" (following this option)
-I happen to run into someone.
"Hey! Listen!" Navi started, "Link, we should take the roads and not the woods. Lets not take the chance of running into anything."
I look at Navi and stop in my tracks, having a strange feeling about this. "Navi, since when did I ever stop and take the easy way back? I always take the fastest." I start to continue walking the way I was instead of heading for the road.
"HEY!" She jumped in my way and made me stop short. "You have no health potions, if we run into anything you won't be able to heal yourself. Take the road. It is safer." She stayed floating in my way till I gave in and started heading for the road. This was very strange of Navi, she never questioned my choice before...
-Navi confesses she switched the potions.
-Just continue on the way home, no questions asked.

I sigh and go on the detour, just to shut up Navi. Continuing on the path was indeed safer but also boring. No monsters to fight and less scenery. Groaning the whole where back to home, just to make a point to Navi that this is not enjoyable in the least. Upon getting to the house he stops at the door, "There Navi... safe and home... and never doing that again. Now it is dark out and we might as well go to sleep. Nothing else to do for the day."
"But... you... you have to keep taking the road...", Navi tried to argue for me to take it safe.
Cutting her off, "NAVI, I will go and get a health potion, but then I am taking whatever path I want to. Now, I am going to go sleep and don't try to talk me out of it tomorrow." Overnight.......
-Link's belly slightly bumps.
