Rules and Such
The System
We will be using Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 Edition with supplements and house rules. This means the basics for 3.5 will hold true unless specifically stated otherwise.
Leveling Up
For the most part levels will be XP based. XP will be gained by killing things, solving puzzles, or any number of other things. At times I will grant entire levels, when that happens you should take your current XP, subtract how far you are from the next level, give yourself the amount it would take to reach the next level, then add the difference.
Example: A level 1 character is half way to level 2, giving them 500xp. A level has been granted. The total needed to reach level 2 is 1,000xp. 1,000 - 500 = 500. 1,000 + 500 = 1,500
So the now-level 2 character has 1,500xp total. Easy right?
Rolling
As mentioned before all rolls must be made with Gaia's roller. This means two posts will be required for each roll. The initial post should say what you are attempting to do with the roll, depending on that one of two things will happen:
1. I will look at your character sheet and tally everything up, giving the total at the top of the post containing the result of your roll.
2. You will post a second time, giving the total at the top of your post and continuing to explain what you are attempting.
Rules
Basic Rules
1. All rolls save those for character creation must be made in this thread using Gaia's dice roller, unless I have otherwise specified.
2. The only OOC posts allowed in this thread are those pertaining to your rolls or to clear up a misunderstanding of your actions.
3. Characters may act without DM presence so long as it has no significant impact on the campaign as a whole or would require rolling. This rule may become more flexible later on.
4. Upon leveling up you must send me an updated character sheet or PM with what has changed. If you do not I will treat your character as if they are whatever level I currently have a sheet for.
5. In most cases you will not see my rolls as the DM, this is to prevent meta-gaming. All I can ask is for you guys to trust that I'm not cheating.
6. The dice don't lie. This means if you fail something you fail it. You may have another chance, you may not, but the roll that failed is still a failed attempt.
7. In reference to the above, if your character dies they are dead. They can still be brought back, but your party will need to go through the required steps to do so. In very, very rare cases I will god-hand people to save them, but don't count on it.
House Rules
None just yet. These will be created and applied when needed. Note that these are just restrictions I make up because I feel like it, there will be certain situations the books won't mention or grey-area situations. House rules are to cover those, please check this section often.
