 The sun was just disappearing over the horizon, and the two lions were finally getting to the point where they needed rest. At least almost. Xennek scoffed as he looked behind him. "Gettin' tired already, cub?" He shook his head before jumping down the mountain side. "We still have a ways to go. Or are you finally willing to give up and go home?" Hearing nothing but silence, the lion finally stopped walking to actually look back at his companion. The younger lion was looking up at the sky, his similiar blue eyes totally entranced by the stars above. "Oiy, Sekayi!" Xennek called before lashing out towards him. "Let's get this over with!"

 It had been a while since he had left. The young lion couldn't help but to wonder about his family. How were they doing? Sighing softly under his breath Sekayi glanced ahead at the lion moving quickly across the rough terrain. Did Xennek even have a family somewhere? Probably. With the way that one took to the females...Sekayi rolled his eyes before looking skyward. At least it was going to be another clear night. Far better than getting caught in another thunder storm. But how much further until they finally stopped? His thoughts kept him quiet, until at last a yell got him to react. "Wait!" With a yell the lion tumbled to the side barely escaping Xennek's tackle.

Hit!
Xennek swerved and finally came to a stop with a laugh, "Ah! So you actually might have some reaction speed after all then!" He teased, though his gaze narrowed at Sekayi. Perhaps he shouldn't play so much then? Even if it was just training, there was no real learning in light 'play'. So he decided to put some effort into it. Paws pushing hard against the ground the lion darted forward and lashed at his companion.
"Be quicker than that!" Xennek whispered in that split second before bounding back away, his claws barely sticky with blood from Sekayi's side.

Miss!
Sekayi gritted his teeth against the sudden sting of pain. He actually used his claws! But there was no time to worry about that. He had to move now if he wanted to get Xennek back! It was the perfect chance for him! With a growl he pushed himself after the lion and reached out to mark his side in the same manner.
But his claws only touched air.
"Slipper old geezer." He muttered rolling away from his intended target.

Bide Xennek grinned teasingly over at his opponent. "Slippery old geezer, eh?" He replied with a laugh. "Really now! Just 'cause your still a cub-" He backed away as Sekayi started to bare his teeth at him. Oh, so that was possibly offensive to him then.
Should he attack now? The lion tilted his head, obviously distracted by his own thoughts. Or was he? Xennek watched the other lion carefully from the corner of his gaze. "Guess I'm waiting on you, boy."

Hit! Cub? He hated Xennek sometimes! Sekayi's claws dug into the ground as he sought to calm himself, find his center. If his anger got the best of him then it was basically over. Like last time. The lion flinched at the memory of their last training session.
But he wasn't going to get him like that again! "Fine!" Pushing himself from the ground the younger lion dove towards the darker lion. And this time he didn't just hit empty air.

Miss! Was he really going to fall for it again? Xennek wondered as it was obvious to him that Sekayi was losing his temper once again. You would think he would know better by now. Sighing the lion prepared himself for the wild attack. Once Sekayi lost it, it was easy to find an opening for attack.
As Sekayi raced towards him Xennek prepared to lash out at his back. But this time he actually missed and found himself tumbling down to the ground with the other lion.

Bide For a second he felt triumph against the other lion. That is until both of them lost balance and had gotten into this mess on the ground. Tch. This wasn't the victorious moment that he had planned. And now it felt like there were some rocks involved in that fall. His leg was awfully tender...
"Ready to give up?" Muttered Sekayi asked with a forced grin. "I think this might be too much for an old timer like you." But knowing Xennek, and himself...well both of them would have to be completely exhausted to give up. So maybe if he just rolled to the right...

Great. Just great. Xennek glared at the other lion. How in the world did they make it out of this one? If this were a real battle, both of them would have to give way or risk the other clawing out his throat. His thoughts were distracted by Sekayi's comment. "Give up?" The lion laughed, "Never."
"Though, I think you might want to give up now." With a shove, Xennek rolled away and watched as Sekayi did the same. Brushing himself off he looked over at the other lion. "So finished yet?"

"Of course not you idiot." Panted Sekayi as he moved back away from the other lion. There was no way that he was going to back down! Not when he was doing so much better this round. Yet, it was obvious that he was reaching his limit. If only they hadn't been traveling already today.
"Not yet." He repeated shaking his head. "You have to knock me out first!" Growling he braced himself for another attack. It was time to end this.

"Well if you insist." Replied Xennek with a grin. What a tough one. It would be so much easier on the both of them if Sekayi didn't push himself to hard during these 'training' fights. Oh well. Time to wrap this session up.
"See ya when you finally wake up!" Xennek yelled before rushing forward and slamming against the younger lion. Before Sekayi could retaliate the lion knocked him hard against the ground once again. Eh, looked like he'd be feeling that one in the morning too.

Sekayi winced. Already his body was twisting trying to avoid the next hit, but he could feel it coming. Just like last time. The young adult sighed as the pain rushed through his head and the darkness started to swarm his vision.
"I swear...if you leave me alone again." He managed before passing out. The last thing he remembered seeing was Xennek hovering over him. At least he could trust the other lion to drag his body somewhere safe.
If only he didn't have to be so harsh about knocking him out everytime. But it was okay, because Sekayi knew that one day the tables would be turned.
