The fox's ear twitched. This sound was familiar. Extremely so. In voice and in content. As he approached the source, it was clear. Tithe was cursing Desmon's existence. Regarding what, he wasn't too sure. Yet. Naturally, however, Adonis was determined to find out. He neared her, and by the scent she seemed to be alone. Perplexing. Desmon wasn't even around to annoy her at the moment.

Now he could finally see her, and she truly did seem upset. Before making himself known, Adonis examined the black and red vixen, wondering idly what that 'Daeva had done this time to annoy her. Not that he had to do much. They were always on each other's bad sides.

"Should I be fearful for Desmon's like?" Adonis asked, an amused smile on his lips. He moved closer and sat down on the ground near her, tilting his head in curiousity as he awaited her reply.

User Image Tithe was busy hissing and spitting out a storm of curses she herself didn't even know she knew. Oh, that damn idiotic mess of a flea ball, oh hell no. He had taken her necklace! HER NECKLACE! Sure, she never wore it, but thats because it was broken! Then again, she didn't have proof....yet. YET! Maybe she just wanted something to blame him on, no, no no no, she just wanted her damn chain back.

A familiar, reassuring voice spoke to her, head turning to see Adonis approaching. Her tense pose relaxed, eyes flicking between him and then the tree's, as if Adonis could be hiding Desmon. With a huff she glared at Adonis, though not in a angry way, more in a frustrated you-don't-even-know expression.

"That b*****d crossed the line, Adonis."

Adonis examined the vixen, wondering if she was hurt or something. Not that Desmon would seriously hurt her. With or without Nana, Adonis knew they would never harm each other. But then, what was the problem? He had no idea, and the one thing Tithe said didn't exactly help.

"Well, calm down first, Tithe," he began, unsure if the simple command would work. "What exactly happened? If you don't mind telling me, that is. Desmon isn't even... anywhere near here."

She turned to look at him, scowling at the male, once again not truly at him. "He went off to see Nana." She mused, ears flicking as she flopped down. Oh, jeeze, where could she start? "He woke me up to tell me to go back to my tribe. Nana's with Yugure a lot, and he wanted to see her." Tithe had let it go at the time, groggily falling back into the depths of sleep. She hadn't remembered that her chain had been laying on a rock, until she woke up and not only Desmon was gone, but so was the chain.

She repeated this string of thoughts to Adonis, tail flicking to the side before growling at the ground. "He had to have taken it."

"I see," Adonis said slowly, still confused. Tithe still hadn't said what Desmon must have taken. "What exactly are you looking for?" He asked, glad that she had calmed down a little. He examined her, but couldn't think of anything that was missing from her person.

Adonis then glanced around the surrounding area. Absolutely nothing to suggest to him what Tithe was missing.

"My chain." She said, almost annoyed at Adonis for not figuring this out. Wait, how would he know? Sighing, she realized she needed to calm her self before she would snap at Adonis, and this she did not want to do. So, instead she fixed her eyes on him, frowning. "I never wear it because the clasp is broken, but, it was the first thing I...borrowed from a human." She didn't want to say steal, mostly because she wasn't sure how Adonis would react. Had she told him what she did as a past-time in the past?

He probably wouldn't be here if she had. Grumbling to herself, her tail flicked, accessories jangling together before she scowled. "It had to have been him, since it was only gone after he was."

Adonis listened, nodding as she spoke. He understood her concern, the chain obviously meant a lot to her, but he wasn't sure Desmon was the reason it was missing. They seemed to hate each other, sure, but what other reason would the 'Daeva have?

"Well, how well have you looked for it?" Adonis asked tentatively, surveying the area. Glad that he now knew what he was looking for. "Maybe it wasn't Desmon's fault at all. I don't exactly see why he would take it, past the fact that you two kind of hate each other... Either way, I'll help you search. And if we can't find it, I'll help you hunt him down. For questioning... Not an actual hunt..."

"Psh."

She huffed at him when he refused to actually hunt the boy down. Nodding despite her desire to end him being refused. "I looked around the area I slept, the waters edge, and in the bushes over there." She jerked her tail to the bushes, sighing deeply in her throat before glaring at Adonis.

"I am going to kill him the second you leave, mind you." She mused. Little did she know that a rabbit had taken her necklace, drawn by its shiny appearance. Even still, she would have blamed Desmon somehow anyway.

Adonis smiled, knowing she wasn't happy with his refusal to search for Desmon immediately. Oh well, it was all for the better. Tithe's conviction was based on her hate of the 'Daeva, and she probably wasn't considering all the possibilities.

"Perhaps someone, or something, else took it," he suggested, looking up at the sky. "I know crows love collecting shiny things. Other animals do, too. We can look around through nests and things like that." Adonis shrugged at his own suggestion, still looking around. There were a lot of small animals around, it was a possibility that the chain was taken by one of them.

"Just don't go off killing Desmon on a whim," Adonis said. "It might not be his fault at all."

Tithe glared at the ground. Stupid small animals. She really wished Desmon was the one to take it, it would be a chance to kill him for a legit reason. Though, dramatic, yes, but in the end a legit reason. Her head turned at the thought of crows finally settled into her brain. Crows? Ew. She had eaten one once, and it was disgusting. She had hoped to never meet one again.

"A whim? Hardly. He probably would deserve it somehow." She chuckled at this, shrugging before nosing around. Nests? Well, she had seen a rabbit hole earlier, before she had fallen asleep, and a nest in the tree near the river. Those were two good locations to look through.

"There's a nest near the river, and a rabbit hole. Maybe we should split up? I'll take the rabbits den. Digging should help calm me down."

Adonis nodded in agreement with her plan, smiling again. He started in the direction she had indicated. "Frankly," he joked, "I enjoy being able to teach you all of these life lessons." Adonis chuckled, wondering how she would react to this comment.

He reached the river, and a quick glance upwards at the branches showed Adonis his own target. Scanning the ground revealed the rabbit hole Tithe would be invading shortly. "Both are perfect possibilities," he said, commending the vixen on her suggestions. "Shall we begin?"

Without much further ado, Adonis proceeded to climb the tree. The nest rested on a thinner branch that stemmed from a very sturdy one he could easily stand on. He reached said strong branch inched along until he could see the inside the of nest. He could see every part of it, and there was no sign of Tithe's chain. Adonis moved back closer to the trunk, but didn't climb back down yet. He decided to wait up there and watch Tithe's progress from above.

Tithe snorted at the mention of life-lessons. How many adventures had Adonis been on, anyway? She watched him climb into the tree, tempted to make a remark. A fox that could climb? Well, she couldn't very well. Then again, she had climbed several times when hired to eliminate a male that was dark as the night and she had to find through the tree's. She would never forget that assignment, it was one of her least favorite.

Tithe approached the hole, sitting on her haunches and staring at it. Slowly, she pulled her rings off, setting them aside before digging into the hole. Judging by the lack of little footsteps from under she had invaded the den while its owner was out on a stroll.

Annoyed as the minuets flew by without much progress, she huffed, stuck her head into the now bigger hole, and jerked it back, scowling. Had she seen something glittering down there? This only sent the dark vixen into digging frantically, tail lashing back and forth.

"I swear, if my chain is down there, I am going to find the damn bunny and hang it by its ears."

As planned, Adonis watched her from his branch as Tithe took great care to keep all of rings clean of dirt, before beginning to dig. The hole grew larger, but still to no avail. The burrow must have been much deeper than he had anticipated. Still, Tithe was clearly determined, in fact she seemed more into it than ever now. Maybe she had seen something? Shrugging at his own question, Adonis just sat in waiting.

Presently, Adonis chuckled at her comment. "At least if it is the rabbit, the chances of your being able to find and kill the thing are much higher," he commented from above. "Not that you wouldn't be able to find and kill Desmon, because I don't doubt you."

(( I was thinking she could find her necklace on a branch dangling over a running river? ))

Her ear flicked at his comment, huffing in annoyance when she was met with just more dirt. When her paw hit something she clicked the roof of her mouth with her tongue, humming quickly as she scooped it out. Instead of her necklace was a metal can that had been bitten in half. Annoyed, the vixen promptly threw the can, snarling slightly.

"I swear! Is nature against me? I know I have ripped a few roots out in fits of anger, but that was only a few times in my life-time!"

With a huff, she turned to Adonis, pouting for a brief second before collecting her rings, carefully setting them back on each finger. This was becoming ridiculous. Though spending time with Adonis was appealing.

[That sounds good!]

Adonis saw the disappointment and anger before he could actually see what Tithe dug out from the burrow. He saw the can when she threw it out. As Tithe exclaimed her frustrations, Adonis made his way down the tree. He saw her pout, the anger seeming to subside for the time being. He waited for her to collect her things, and meanwhile looked around for more potential nests or burrows.

Adonis turned back to her as she seemed ready to continue. "I believe if we follow along this river we'll find more places to look," he suggested. "That is, if you still want to continue."
