Kanani smiled at the orange mare that stood in front of her, and also at the telltale kick in her stomach. This was not her first pregnancy, and the sensation did not startle her, but instead brought a warm feeling to her heart. Her last pregnancy had been with some pain and difficulty, and of course she had had no mother to instruct her in the ways of a mother. But now she was experienced herself, and held no fear, but instead a soft satisfaction and excitement at the babes to come.
And she was also happy that her experience could be shared with someone else. A close friend and beloved mare who had, in the previous few months, become almost like a daughter to Kanani.
"A lovely day it is, Cloee. I haven't felt this good in a while. I think that it is good for the unborn babes too." She grinned, looking back at her stomach, then turned back to her friend. She winked.
"What would you like to know, my friend?"

Cloee looked over to her good friend with a smile. "Such a wonderful day! I hope the foals are getting enough of it." Speaking with a voice like silk as her tail swished behind her. She deeply enjoyed the few months she had gotten to know Kana. She was like the mother she never had. "What was it like when your children were born, Kanani?" Asking as she looked at the rounded belly of her friend. she wanted to know as much as she possibly could for when she would have her children one day.

Kanani smiled as she thought back to her first generation of children. Her and Crisanto had tried for so long, and had thought that children might be out of the question... but then she changed, just like that. A new appetite, a growing belly, a change of behavior--it had been new to her, and at first she had been concerned. But she had received advice from another, older mare, who had soothed her worries and urged her to enjoy the experience.
"It was amazing, to say the least," she murmured, glancing off into the trees as one gazed at the stars. Then she looked back to Cloee and grinned. "Your preferences in everything seem to change--I never liked carrots before I was pregnant! But now I do." She giggled, thinking of the strange cravings she had had. "Perhaps I'll change back after this pregnancy."
She sighed, slowing her pace. "It's nice, how everyone adores you and helps to care for you when you need them most. The actual period of pregnancy is both a wondrous and shocking thing, and the process of birth can be painful and frightening. But the results pay off. I wouldn't ask for anything more than my mate and children."

"You must be really happy with Crisanto, Kanani." Asking as she listened to the Cerynei's words. She loved being around Kanani and her family. She felt safe and unafraid of the males. Her tail swished behind her as she looked at the soft grass.
"The joy of foals is nothing that can be compared to, right?" Cloee asked as she wanted to know anything she could. Her mind was a buzz with the idea of her own family one day. The idea of foals made her dream of a stallion that could help her with her fear and be able to take his time with her. "Carrots are good for your eyes, but and pretty delicious!" She commented as her ears twitched. " Never would have guessed that pregnancy could change so much about a mare." Adding as she thought about it.
Nodding in agreement to her words of truth. "Your mate must be happy to have more foal on the way, Kanani. I know I would be happy to have more children." She commented as she smiled.
