Name: Samson Nicholas Colt Nickname: Sam. Please just call him Sam. He'll think you're angry at him if you use Samson. Age: 11 Birthday: November 10th Sign: Scorpio Gemstone: Topaz Blood Type: AB- Fav. Food: Mac 'n Cheese and burnt marshmallows. Any easy to make 'camping' food (including but not limited to hot dogs). BBQ! Hated Food:Apple anything: apple juice, apple pie, apple sauce, apple turnovers, etc. Asparagus is also not tolerated. School: Knightside Elementary (Middle school, 5th grade?) Hobbies: Planes, trains and automobiles- Sam is fascinated by things that move. The first toys he remembers playing with were hot wheels; he received a set as a gift after his father came home from a business trip. He loved pushing them across the floor and watching them fly down home made ramps. As he got a little older, he continued to collect those types of toys and developed an interest in the real thing. He's curious in how they work: what makes an engine ruin, how do airplanes stay in the air? There's nothing about them that he doesn't like. Sam is perfectly content watching shows about cars, or going for a simple ride in one. When he's been well behaved, his parents often reward him with a simple model kit. Legos- What kid doesn't love legos? Legos are just one of the toys that engages his imagination and allows him to be creative. Sam could easily spend hours happily creating buildings, bridges or spaceships. Sometimes he follows a set plan, other times he just pushes blocks together to make random creations. Ever time he gets a new set, he always builds it as suggested first; he loves to see how all the piece come together. Regular puzzles are also very enjoyable for him. Dodgeball- Dodgeball is the one sport/game that Sam really, truly excels at. When it comes to things like hockey and soccer, Samson isn't horrible at them by any means but, he's fairly average. He's a young, energetic boy; active sports usually come naturally to him. However, he doesn't do well with sports that emphasize playing as a team or playing a set position. With dodgeball, Sam doesn't feel trapped into being in one spot or focused on a single task. The only person he needs to rely on to win is himself and his own abilities. His wiry frame and youthful energy make mastering the 5 Ds (dodge, duck, dive, dip, and dodge!) an easy task for him. He finds dogdeball exhilarating because there is so much going on. Camping- Sam loves the outdoors and 'roughing it'. Usually his idea of 'roughing it' is limited to weekend camp outs in his own backyard. He likes to take his pop up tent and sleeping bag outside when the weather is nice, just to get the feeling of being away from 'society'. He pretends he's really in the woods, surrounded with all sorts of dangers with only his wits and flashlight to protect him. In reality, his dad is quietly watching nearly the whole time. A few times a year, his father takes him out on real camping trips and they spend most of the time sitting around a campfire gorging themselves on hot dogs and marshmallows (and foods Mrs. Colt disapproves of). Virtues: Laconic (expressing much in few words)- Sam is a fairly quiet kid. In conversation he's concise and to the point. He doesn't embellish too much on details. He's not the type to chatter mindlessly or babble. He doesn't share that much personal information about himself, instead he's satisfied being a listener. Part of it is a natural tendency and part is learned behavior. When he was about 5 he had developed a slight speech impediment, which resulted in a fair bit of teasing. Even after going through speech therapy, Sam has become reluctant to speak at length. He prefers to be direct and succinct. It's not unusual for him to answer any question with a simple sentence, or even just 'yeah' or 'nah'. Occasionally he still has trouble with making speeches in class. Rather than let it be a hindrance, Sam learned to make it a benefit. He gets his points across quickly. Rather than describing how he feels, his gestures and facial expressions can speak volumes. He's more likely to tell a person to 'quit it' with a dagger like glare than to say so out right. If they don't... well there's always his fists to help persuade them. Sam has even mastered the art of puppy eyes. A benefit to not being a chatty Kathy, is that he is skilled at keeping secrets. He doesn't give anyway any information that he doesn't want to. If he was sad, you'd probably never really know just by looking at him; he'd certainly never tell you. Getting information he doesn't want to divulge is like pulling teeth, a tiring process for anyone willing to try. His quiet personality might be cause for concern with some teachers, if it wasn't for the fact that Sam does socialize and interact with others just fine... most of the time anyways. Determined- 'No' is not a word in Sam's vocabulary. When he wants something, he uses all his energy and abilities to get it. He won't take no for an answer; he won't stop until he gets what he wants. Once he sets his sights on something, he does not give up on his goal easily. He's incredibly dedicated and motivated when he needs to be. If he wants a new toy, he will bother his parents until they give in or strike up a deal with him. Sam will do whatever he feels is necessary (within reason) to achieve his goals. Usually he'll try to work hard and earn his rewards, but he's not above using guilt or charm to get it (even the occasional tantrum). When he wants something, like X toy, he will eventually get it. How? Sam is a fairly spoiled child as is. His parents bribe reward good grades with the treats (pocket money, candy, or new toys occasionally). His aptitude for learning makes getting those Bs and As a pretty easy task. Beyond that, he's clever enough to get his parents to make compromises. Doing x amount of choirs will almost guarantee an extra half hour of TV time. He knows how to cut corners just enough to make the results seem greater than the real effort. Even if his parents say no at first, they'll eventually give in, Sam has had 11 years to learn how to manipulate them. Eager Learner- How and why things work is a question Sam often asks. Attentive and alert, Sam is an eager learner. He's curious about the world around him, and he's constantly trying to 'figure things out'. Science is one of his better subjects, as he enjoys doing the experiments, learning and seeing how the world works. When he comes across something new, he's not afraid to ask about it or better yet, pull it apart. Left to his own devices, he'll pull apart the tv remote (or similar small object) just to see all the parts; most of the time he can put them back together. One of his 'when I grow up' dreams is to become an engineer or an architect, so he can build his own creations and have other people marvel at them (he would also settle for fire fighter, astronaut, train conductor or cowboy). Wily- Maybe it was watching all those Bugs Bunny reruns, reading Fantastic Mr. Fox one too many times, or maybe it's just how he is, but Sam is pretty crafty for an 11 year old. His appetite for learning and curiosity have helped make him a relatively clever little boy. The combination of intelligence and determination make him a little terror, or charming when need be. Sam's a pretty cunning kid when it comes to setting traps making plans. He makes an effective Dodgeball team captain, often pointing out the weaker players or making a plan to gang up on another kid. He has nonverbal cues worked out and everything. If he doesn't want the babysitter to get into the house or his room, you can bet there will be a Calvin and Hobbes-esque rouse to get her away. Monsters under the bed? No problem! He's got a flashlight attached to the underside of the bed to keep them away and a monster trap (cardboard box) all set up. Most of his plans are fairly simple, but you'd be surprised at how fast he can come up with one. Flaws: Insensitive- Sam has a hard time defining and figuring out people's boundaries. He doesn't expect people to react differently than he does. Normally, he expects people to shrug off comments or to take criticism well. He also believes in speaking his mind, when he has something to say that is. This leads to him often being kurt with people. If you're doing something wrong, he will tell you so. Usually, Sam thinks he's being helpful by pointing out a flaw and doesn't realize right away that what he says might be hurtful. He doesn't intentionally set out to hurt anyone's feelings. He's not going to tease someone relentlessly just because. His comments are generally meant to be helpful, pointing out issues he feels should be fixed or he finds interesting. Sam might say your hair looks funny today or that your taking too long to solve a puzzle. Sometimes his off the cuff remarks just come out wrong. He'll apologize eventually, when he realizes he said something to upset someone. Once he knows someone is sensitive about X issue, Sam is unlikely to bring it up again (unless he really dislikes them). Arrogant/Proud- Sam thinks very highly of himself. He has high self-esteem and sense of self-worth. He got an A on his science project and made this beautiful stick figure drawing, aren't they wonderful! He's bold and shameless about showing off his accomplishments. Clearly that haiku he wrote about fire trucks is the best haiku ever, don't you agree? Being successful at something really makes his day, but failure is not something he's used to. He doesn't take disappointment well. When he feels like he hasn't gotten what he deserves, or feels insulted, anger starts to swell up inside him. Usually, he'll shrug it off and continue to believe he's amazing. But, if something hits close to home, he's likely to crack. Push his buttons enough or start to shake his confidence and he'll push back. Kiss with a Fist (physical)- Sam is a very physical kid. He prefers to learn things hands-on, in a very direct manner. He uses gestures and movements to express himself. Why is this a bad thing you ask? Because he often chooses to 'express himself' in ways that aren't always appropriate. Like most little boys, Sam pretends to be tough and manly. He doesn't really know how to deal with all his emotions yet. If he likes you? Well, he'll probably show it with small hugs if you're family. If you're a friend, he's likely to bond with you over rough-housing and play fighting. You might not know he likes you until you get a friendly punch in the shoulder. If he really likes you, and you happen to be a girl, be prepared for hair pulling. Doesn't sound too bad? The worst is when he gets upset and angry. When he was teased, he found the best way to solve that problem was to fight. Sam follows the usual 'Rules of the Playground', that nobody likes a tattle-tale. So instead of running away and crying about it, Sam put on a brave face and fought back; he just fought back with his fists instead of words. Once he stood up for himself and got a few hits in, the teasing stopped. It's been his way ever since really. Instead of talking out a problem, he chooses to duke it out. The fights usually aren't too bad, and he only gets violent when provoked (emotionally, verbally or physically). Sam knows it's "wrong" (or so say the adults), but it's proven to be effective. After being sent to the principal's office and getting detention a few times, he tries to keep his cool and be civil. However, sometimes the best way to solve things is just a good old fashioned fist fight. He isn't the type to go out looking for a fight, or provoking one himself, but he'll certainly finish it. It's the kind of behavior that's likely to have him sent to Hillsworth if he doesn't grow out of it by his teens. Impressionable- Like most kids, Sam is very impressionable. He tries to copy things he sees on TV. He wants that new toy once he's seen the commercial. When he looks up to someone, he'll make try to copy them too. He'll want to act like them and try to impress them. However, his impressionable nature means he can be pretty easy to control too. When he admires people, especially older kids and young adults, he'll do just about anything they want. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION Eyes: Bright, round and honey brown sugar-ish in color. (or chocolate brown?) Hair: Dark blue-grey, very short and boyish. Slight wave, brushed to the side a bit. (sorta like this kid, or this model but you know, as a kid) Face: Still young and fresh faced with a light olive skin tone. Sam has some angular features, and a roman nose. (He's part Greek. Like 1/4? Other parts, English/Scottish) Body: A little on the tall side for a boy his age, Sam is about 5'1" and getting a little taller all the time. He has a wiry, but athletic frame. Clothes: Outside of school Sam wears basic play clothes, jeans and a t-shirt with the occasional jacket or sweater. He's very fond of reds, blues, brown, orange and teal.

Senshi: Sailor Chibi Ixion, Chibi Senshi of Coal - Ixion, is the 5th largest plutino and a dwarf planet candidate in the Kuiper Belt. It is named after the Ixion, from Greek mythology, one of the 3 figures commonly seen tortured in Hades (the others being Sisyphus and Tantalus). Ixion was a selfish and greedy figure. He promised his father-in-law a valuable gift, but instead tricked him. He murdered his father-in-law by pushing him into a pit of burning coals and wood. In Hades he is punished by being strapped to a burning wheel. Coal: –noun 1. a black or dark-brown combustible mineral substance consisting of carbonized vegetable matter, used as a fuel. Compare anthracite, bituminous coal, lignite. 2. a piece of glowing, charred, or burned wood or other combustible substance.
—Idioms 7. heap coals of fire on someone's head, to repay evil with good in order to make one's enemy repent. 8. rake / haul / drag / call / take over the coals, to reprimand; scold: They were raked over the coals for turning out slipshod work. Challenge: "Your heart is as black as coal", "Surprise! Bad guys only get coal." Fuku Colour: Main Color: Charcoal grey or Orangey-red Secondary Color: Vermillion orange-red or charcoal grey. (Metal pieces like tiara, in silver please, if any other accent colors are needed a yellow-orange, maroon or black please) Fuku: Artist's Choice Symbol: Ixion does have a symbol! Depending on the astrologer, it can be a 5 or 6 spoked wheel, sometimes open on the sides. The wheel representing the wheel he's tortured on in myth, and the spokes being the letters I and X. (another symbol could just be a rough black gem/...well.. coal). Attacks: note to self: Chibi based = should be rather fail-y. (Dunno if these are faily or not . HMM) Sailor Scout Attack: Ixion Coal Rush Ixion summons a single black, light lump of coal (fist sized). He throws the coal at the target. About half of the time, upon impact the coal breaks apart into black soot and little pieces, covering a small area of the target (hands, torso or face, less than foot) in black. If hit in the face it can cause some eye irritation. If the coal does not break up, it only leaves a small black mark. This power doesn't do every much at all, but is irritating to be hit with and potentially messy. Chibi Ixion can only use this power up to 3 times maxium, usually will only work twice. *After 2 minutes the coal, if unbroken dissolves away leaving only a small pile of soot. Super Sailor Scout Attack: Ixion Ember Blitz Ixion conjures up 2 lumps of coal, shot in succession. This time, the coals are hot with a slight glow. Upon impact they can break into soot and sizzling embers which leave small burns and fizzle out quickly (50/50 chance). The burns are very minor (like accidentally touching a hot plate or a match), they sting more than anything else. If they do not break, the coals leave a larger burn but remain hot for a minute or two. They can start very minor fires if left alone/on flammable things. Clothes may get black stains, burn marks and start smoking (catching fire isn't out of the question, but odds are they'd notice a burning hole in their outfit). The coals can be conjured up to 3 times, usually only done twice. *The coals will still disappear leaving behind soot. Eternal Sailor Attack: Stoking Coals (??? totally need a better name. Maybe rekindle/rekindling something) Ixion creates a small, glowing circle of coals and shoot it towards his target (ideally a senshi). The coals magically create a large circle around the feet of the target. For 30 seconds, the coals are extremely hot and burning up. The area around these coals (1 m) will feel quite hot. During those 30 seconds the senshi inside of the ring is essentially getting refueled. If they stay within the circle for the full 30 seconds, they regain one use of their own attack/skill. It can be difficult for some to stay the full time, it is pretty warm there. If they do not stay within the circle for the full time, there is no effect, only the annoying heat. The refueling effect works only on those with magical abilities (including corrupted senshi). Chibi Ixion can use this power twice, but it highly recommended to use only once. Using it twice will cause him to collapse, once will make him fairly tired. *After the coals burn up there is a ring of black soot and char left over. *Ixion himself doesn't feel the heat to the same degree as others. *Can power up any attack less than the eternal stage, once per person (per battle). (Or an alternative #2 maybe a bed of coals (bed of hot coals puts a 'threatening' distance between him and enemy, ) *Attacks can effect anyone or thing. If hit with attack 1a or 1b, expect to get dirty, sooty and potentially burned.

Been thinking about doing an Ixion for a little while! Seeing how he might work as a chibi. Feel free to comment, critique or make suggestions. Crit trades are loved heart .
Random bits you might be interested to know:
-Sam is scorpio because: Ixion is a plutino, a trans-neptuian object not too far off from Pluto (although much smaller). Pluto (and Mars, sorta) is the 'ruler' of Scorpio. So it made sense to me. That and Ixion is eternally punished in Hades. Originally, I was going to make him a Sag, but I liked Scorpio better. -His lastname, Colt, is chosen for two reasons: because it has that 'col' sound it in, and because Colt refers to horses. Ixion is considered the father of the centaur race, he seduced the look-alike of Hera, Nephele, and centaurs were the offspring of that union. Ain't that neat? -Ixion was only discovered in 2001, it seems kinda fitting to make him a chibi.

Hiyas zippedsiren.
I found it hard to find anything to crit about Sam. His hobbies are well explained and seem to fit the sort of character he is and the virtue & flaw-set are also well explained and give a great sense of his personality. One thing that came to mind was that in the civilian profile it switches from Sam to Samson in some places (maybe use just one?).
Ixion's senshi & super senshi attacks also read fine to me & come across as chibified attacks. The only question I have re. the attacks is whether the attacks can affect senshi as well as negaverse members?
Didn't read on the eternal attack as that has a TBD by it
Sorry it's not much, your quest's really well put together. Good luck on getting him smile

D’awww~ Sam~ he’s so cute! Let’s see if I can come up with anything helpful for you. XD;
Determined — From how I’m reading it, it sounds like he could be manipulative and rather spoiled. It could be fun to work off on some of those? Especially if you’re looking for another flaw for him. How does he work for his rewards? Does he make sure everyone knows what he’s doing, or does he do things quietly and hope his efforts are noticed without much prodding?
Strong and silent — It sounds really mature for an 11-year-old. I mean, I’m not saying that he can’t be mature! I know plenty of children who surprise me with their maturity. I’m not sure. It sounds like this virtue is focused to someone a bit older than 11. Especially if he is so curious about things.
Curious — I think you mean “architect” rather than architecture? <3 I’m wondering if you could rename this? It’s coming off more as “eager learner” than just curious. Curious, to me, would bring to mind “curiosity killed the cat” and think that he’s more into getting trouble than learning about and understanding things. Especially when looking at his hobbies, I see him being more willing to learn about things than just curious about whatever. But it’s your call, definitely!
Secretive/Aloof — You’ll have to be careful about his “emotional distance” from others isn’t edging into the “cool” flaws to have. (I had the same trouble with one of my quests.) Really, it’s not reading as a flaw, but more as a virtue. It should be something that people would look down on him for, rather than marveling over how good of a secret keeper he is.
Prideful — Is it prideful leaning towards arrogance? Because I think that would be a stronger word for this flaw. I’m also curious about his violent tendencies and I’m wondering if there’s a way to meld it into his flaws more? Especially for someone who was raised to be polite and respectful.
I hope this helped some!! I think he’s super adorable and just needs some fleshing out. <333

Thanks Iitian and Guine! Given me lots to think about here. Sam definitely needs lots of work (I really only typed him up last night, so there's a few kinks to get out). -Adjusted name bits to only say Sam in text. Let's see if I can fix some other things up. Quote: Determined — From how I’m reading it, it sounds like he could be manipulative and rather spoiled. It could be fun to work off on some of those? Especially if you’re looking for another flaw for him. How does he work for his rewards? Does he make sure everyone knows what he’s doing, or does he do things quietly and hope his efforts are noticed without much prodding? I honestly hadn't thought much about making him manipulative and spoiled. But now that you've pointed it out, they do work well for him. I am definitely looking for a 4th flaw and virtue set for Sam, I just couldn't think of what would work best for him. How he works for his rewards depends on what it is. You could say that most of the time it's a bribe. If he gets good grades, he gets a 'treat'. Sometimes it's simple compromise , his parents will be willing do give him X if he does X amount of chores. I think I'll probably write a manipulative trait and address this more. Quote: Strong and silent — It sounds really mature for an 11-year-old. I mean, I’m not saying that he can’t be mature! I know plenty of children who surprise me with their maturity. I’m not sure. It sounds like this virtue is focused to someone a bit older than 11. Especially if he is so curious about things. Yeah sweatdrop I think in my head, I just have him down as a quiet kid. I'm not sure why. I like the idea of him being a pretty stable kid, a little less hyper and loud. Since he's getting into that 'pre-teen' age range, I figured a little maturity isn't too bad. It's my first time trying to write up a kid, and originally I was going to write Ixion a burly, stoic, camping, outdoorsy hipster teen. XD So it's not that surprising a bit of that came out. Maybe stoic, or something like that, is a better word. Maybe I'll re-write both into a 'cool'-type (or something when I figure out the right word) virtue and replace the flaw with the manipulative (or a charmer virtue). Edited the emotional distant part though, slight rewording there for now. Quote: Curious — I think you mean “architect” rather than architecture? <3 I’m wondering if you could rename this? It’s coming off more as “eager learner” than just curious. Curious, to me, would bring to mind “curiosity killed the cat” and think that he’s more into getting trouble than learning about and understanding things. Especially when looking at his hobbies, I see him being more willing to learn about things than just curious about whatever. But it’s your call, definitely! Good point! I think I'll do that. (And yes I did mean architect XD thanks!) Quote: Prideful — Is it prideful leaning towards arrogance? Because I think that would be a stronger word for this flaw. I’m also curious about his violent tendencies and I’m wondering if there’s a way to meld it into his flaws more? Especially for someone who was raised to be polite and respectful. I see your point! Originally he was going to have a 'temper' flaw, but I knew that wasn't going to mix that well with the aloof/silent set. I think I'll have to revisit temper though, and explore it more, and just axe parts of the cool/silent. I think I'll keep him relatively quiet and few on words and make him a little more hot-headed maybe. heart This has been really, really helpful! Thank You! Peter and Sam can totally have play dates heart . I found a really awesome idiom that might help shape his personality more "At the coalface" meaning if you work at the coalface, you deal with the real problems and issues, rather than sitting in a office discussing things in a detached way. (works well as direct and blunt).

Alright. I think I fixed the virtue set. Changed 'stronge silent' to 'laconic', curious is reworded to eager learner, added the 'wily' trait (hopefully it covered a bit of the manipulative side of him). Just gotta straighten out his flaws now and finish off the power set.

Okay let's see if I can be useful with this crit thing.
In his Wily virtue, I think you mean appetite instead of apatite. smile
For flaws, I definitively see manipulative in there, it fits perfectly with what's already shown with his virtues, that he's not above using means to get what he wants.
With his violent tendencies, well that will depend on how it's played, but would they be bad enough to land him in Hillsworth once he reaches high school ? I think thinking about what you want on that angle will help with how you want to develop it, and to what point.
Also not a crit but you are such a greek myth nut, <3

Thank you Zero!
-I did totally mean appetite. >.> Spelling is the bane of my existence. The negaverse must be invading my brain.
- I'm just having a hard time figuring out how I can manipulative really more of a flaw -like if he's sorta good at it? Or even what's an appropriate amount for a kid.
-I was thinking I'd make him have a bit of temper, when his buttons are being pushed. And working it into a sorta 'boys will be boys', rough housing, 'he doesn't know better yet' type thing. I have no idea if might be something he grows out of as he gets older not. sweatdrop It'll probably take some thinking/tweaking to get it right though.
-I am such a myth nerd! I love matching spheres to myths. heart

You've been delightfully thorough in your description of Sam and he was a pleasure to read over heart
As far as the Eternal attacks go - the Eternal stage is pretty badass, thus it gets a badass attack. If you decide to go with the Stoking Coals, I'd suggest he's only able to power up anything less than a fellow Eternal? Once per person - i.e. He can't give 2 boosts to Sailor Snowman in the same fight.
Though, personally, I think distancing with the bed of coals would make things more interesting - what will those dastardly Nega agents do now?! TUNE IN AT 11 AND FIND OUT.
Very nicely done - can't wait to see him in action! <3
p.s. "Bad guys only get coal!" is a pretty adorable challenge, imo.

Yay yay! Thank you Cuter! heart
Bed of coals would be really interesting in battle. I think I'll see how he plays out and how he ends up working best. When he's about to go eternal I'll revisit powers and maybe switch it out stoking for beds (like the idea of fueling up, since coals are a fossil fuel, but beds would be so practical and fun).
