Admittedly, Amrita felt a little guilty; it had been months since the raid on Christmas ended, and she hadn't hunted down gotten together with the Dragon boil that saved her! It was through word of mouth she knew who he was (before coming across him in classes, on campus and...terrible trips to the human world), and it was through groanspring she managed to convince him to let lunch be her treat. Soon enough the day came, and Amrita had shuffled to the food court at the maul earlier than she needed to be; she didn't want to be late, after all!

Her entire walk there had been a mildly uncomfortable one as the little Death Charm trailed a few feet behind her, trotting happily with a charred pencil trapped in his mouth. Was he attempting to be sneaky? Probably. Was he failing? Yes; Amrita knew he was there the moment the room to her door was closed. A fire beast, even one the size of a regular house cat, was hard to miss.

Still she attempted to ignore him and to instead look for the Dragon Boil, waiting rather patiently for him to show up. When she did spot him, she brightened, waving a hand to catch his attention.

"....Jericho! Over...over here!"

For the most part, Jericho didn't really feel it was necessary to be thanked for carrying the unconscious undead girl before they were warped back from Christmastown, but at the same time he wasn't about to pass up on a free lunch. It may not have been a shiny, but it was still good in his eyes.

Making his way out to the maul, he began looking for Amrita as he neared the meeting point. Between her calling him out and her waving hand, it wasn't too hard to spot her once he had arrived. Grinning, he waved back and quickened his step to close the distance between them.

"Hey Amrita!" He greeted, taking note of the Death Charm trailing behind her not too far off. It seemed to be carrying a pencil? The dragon didn't think much of its presence, as he figured she willingly brought it along to get some fresh air and possibly a treat as well.

"How's everything been?"

"Uhm...not bad...?" What was left of her nose wrinkled in thought; there were too many ups and downs and not enough of one or the other to really call a judgement, so her answer was just something she settled on. Regardless, she smiled towards him...but still didn't look at him for long, always turning her gaze elsewhere after a few seconds.

"How about you...?" She did glance at him when she asked the question (only because Riley told her to look at people when she was talking to them), but then she looked away again, back towards the Death Charm that was sitting a few feet away. DC was just...staring at them, the tip of his tail twitching a little bit and the pencil trapped under a front claw. Frowning a bit, she looked back up at the much taller Boil, then gestured to the various food places.

"Umm...T-take your pick...? My treat, in thanks." Even though she'd already told him this over the interwebs.

"Doing pretty good," he nodded to her. A hint of puzzlement crossed his eyes as her gaze kept shifting elsewhere while she spoke to him. He just dismissed his as her being more of a shy girl. They hadn't really spoken all that much in person after all. Though, he looked over towards the Death Charm nearby when she did as well. With the way it was staring at them, he had to wonder what was going on in that little minipet's mind... if anything.

"Why does he have a pencil?" The dragon asked before snapping back to why they were here as Amrita told him to pick out a place. Smiling, he looked over the various places in the food court.

"How do some wings sound to you?" he asked while looking at one place that served wings of all sorts. Their flaming batwings were pretty good last he remembered.

Pencil? What was he talking about, Pencil? Blinking, she looked back at her unwanted pet; wait, he didn't even have a pencil! ...Oh, no, wait, there it was; under his claw. What was left of her lips pressed together, pondering over how he even got that pencil. Obviously it wasn't important since she couldn't remember, so she merely shrugged.

"I...have no idea." Amrita told him, glancing back at the weird, scary and creepy Death Charm. Yeah, she stopped trying to figure him out the moment she woke up from Christmas Town with him. She was hoping that if she ignored it enough (without being cruel about it, or Professor Malcolm would likely end her) it would just...go away. No luck so far, so it was back to blatantly ignoring the little beast.

"...Oh! I, uhm, I'm not hungry, actually." While she did eat, it was very rare, and she certainly didn't want anything at the moment; the thought made her rotting stomach twist. "I...I did hear that those wings were good...!" She murmured, gesturing to the same place that Jericho was looking. With a little thoughtful hum to herself she started to shuffle past him, heading towards the Wing place. It wasn't until she was at the counter did she realize something, and she looked rather surprised, if not a little worried, by the sudden thought.

"Aah...It's, uhm, not a problem, is it?" She asked, staring up at him.

For a little while longer, Jericho watched the Death Charm with a sense of curiosity. It was pretty quiet and wasn't causing a ruckus so the little guy seemed to have been trained relatively well. Either that, or the minipet was naturally obedient. If only he knew the full story here.

"Hm?"

Returning his attention to Amrita, his head tilted to the side before the recalled that not all students ate or even had much of an appetite. To him, it was a little strange, but to each their own.

"Oh, no it's fine," He smiled, "Just as long as you're ok with getting me some food without grabbing some for yourself."

Death Charm was only being good because Amrita wasn't making noises of distress. But just in case, he was watching Jericho very closely. It was pretty obvious that when the Dragon stared at him, he was staring right back; wait, did his eyes just narrow a bit?! Who knew.

"M'used to it, s'okay." Amrita slurred a bit, pausing to rub her eye. "I'm used to it~" She assured him before folding her arms on the ledge of the counter, her rather short stature allowing her to put her chin on her arms with little to no bending. "Order whatever you want, kay?"

She thought about going to claim a table for this, but then she remembered that she kind of needed to stay there until he ordered! So she did just that, sticking around long enough to pay for his lunch, and the moment she could she shyly tugged on the boil's jacket hem, pointing at a nearby table with her other, backwards hand.

"I'll...get a table?" It was a statement but it came out more like a question. After waiting for a response she made that thoughtful humming noise again and moved, moving awkwardly onto her tip toes to help herself into the slightly taller than normal seat.

Nodding to Amrita, Jericho went on and ordered some flaming bat wings. As he waited for his order to arrive, he looked back at the girl as she went on to grab them a table. To him, it was still a wonder how she managed to get around with backwards feet and hands. She was able to flee from the big DC before and was able to clear the walking exercises from etiquette class, so he was fairly impressed with her ability to handle that.

In a few moments, he had a small basket of bat wings which were... literally on fire for the time being. The flames weren't big by any means, and they were slowly dying over time, but they were still there.

"Thanks for the food by the way," grinned Jericho as he took a seat across from Amrita.

There she was, minding her own business at the now claimed table, and suddenly there was fire in her line of vision. It was a small fire of course, but still...she wasn't expecting that. Fire. Whywastherefirethereohjackohjackohjack!

Drawing in a terrified hiccup of a breath she practically flailed out of her seat, stumbling over her own toes before using the chair as a shield. By the time Jericho had the small basket of flaming batwings at their table the actual fire was rather small and very non-threatening, but in the Vetala's experience even a little fire could get a hell of a lot bigger.

"Y-YOU'RE WELCOME!" She sputtered out much louder than she intended, peering at him with a wide eye over the back of her seat; sure she was somewhat sheepish over having made a big deal out of such a little fire, but it wasn't embarrassing enough for her to actually sit in the chair again.

DC was starting to make a noise that could have been a purr, a growl or both. At first he'd been protective over his Master's little freakout, but once he noticed there were flaming bat wings...well, they looked delicious! The mini fire beast abandoned his pencil to trot towards the table, his head down, ears low and still making that horrible rumbling noise.

Jericho cringed as Amrita flailed out of her seat and hid behind her chair. He often forgot how antsy undead could get around fire. In hindsight, he probably should have gotten something else to eat, but it was too late now. At least the flames would extinguish themselves in another moment or so.

"Ah... sorry... forgot about the whole fire thing," he said with a nervous grin. The dragon was just about to start eating to get rid of the fire for her, but a strange growly-purr type noise caused him to look down towards the Death Charm. It appeared to be hungry. With a smile, he took one of the fiery wings and offered it to the minipet.

"Hungry little guy? Careful, these are hot," he said to it, though he had doubts that heat really bothered it much if at all.

"I-It's okay." She peeped from behind her chair-shield. Jericho may have apologized for forgetting, but she wasn't going to apologize for her reaction; under the conditions it was most definitely the proper response! Luckily for everyone involved the fire from the wings went out shortly and the little ghoul felt it safe enough to crawl (almost quite literally) back into her chair, though judging by her stiffer movements she wasn't completely comfortable but at least she was trying!

DC tilted his head at the Dragon's offer, and without much more prompting he stretched out his neck to grab the fiery wing so quickly he nearly bit the hand that was feeding him. That horrible noise stopped while he ate; this was such a treat! Amrita never gave him fire-anything! It was why he chewed on the pencil, just to eventually taste charcoal. As of that moment, Jericho was his new favourite person and that growling purr of his returned, his very warm little body weaving around the Dragon's legs, headbutting a shin on occasion and even going so far as to n** at his shoes. Yes, DC was a very, very happy little Fire Beast.

Amrita, who was watching the spectacle, looked almost thoughtful. Livi had a hard time with DC, but Jericho was doing just fine with the terrible beast? Hmmm...

"I think it likes you." Slow, muddled gears were turning. She was pretty sure DC was being nice; that noise was different from the one he made at Christof and even Livi, after all...

The fire had at least not lasted very long for Amrita's sake. Seeing that she had calmed down now that the flames had died, Jericho gave her a bit of a nervous grin before looking back down at the minipet. It snapped the wing a little too quickly, but it certainly seemed to be enjoying it!

"Tasty isn't it?" he grinned at the little guy to seemed to be very happy now. Finally starting to eat the wings himself, he glanced up at his undead companion and nodded.

"Seems that way. Does it not like strangers usually?" he asked after finishing a wing or two.

Once more, the poor girl was stumped.

"Uhh...I...I don't know?" With a thoughtful hum she scratched her fleshy cheek, gaze on the ceiling. She thought very hard about the people that DC had interacted with; it was tough, but she was formulating an answer for him. "It hates Christof and I think it tried to eat his Scareon once...didn't really like Livi that one time, either...seems to like Lizzy, though?" Shrugging, she moved to pull her legs up to her chest, her feet tucking comfortably underneath her. "Maybe it likes all your red." Because Lizzy was pink, and pink could be red, right?

"You can have it, if you want." She didn't sound like she was joking, and in fact she wasn't; she was quite serious about that. She didn't want him, he was fire! Then, without missing a beat, she gestured to his lunch. "How are they?" While she doubted anything that came from fire could be remotely good, it was still polite to ask?

Looking back at the Death Charm, it did sound like it gave a bit of trouble to some of the people it had met so far. Perhaps it was a color thing, but it seemed a little silly that it would be picky about that. Then again, minipets could be rather strange from what he's seen before.

Amrita's offer caught him off guard. Raising a brow at the girl, Jericho tried to figure out if that was supposed to be a joke or not. It didn't seem like it was, but he had a hard time seeing how anyone would want to just give away something so rare. While he wasn't one to turn down stuff like this, there was just one small problem with the offer.

"You sure about that? I mean, it's probably bonded to you by now," he said before glancing down at his food, "They're quite delicious. Wanna try one?"

DC had decided that this Dragon student was okay in his books, as he flopped down to lay between the boil's feet, resting his angled chin across a foot. Besides, this boil was warmer than the others and he had to make up for all the lost time in the well below zero dorm. Though, it would probably be important to note that the beast could see Amrita pretty clearly from here, and when it came down to it that was the deciding factor.

"I don't...really care." She pouted, drumming her fingers on the edge of the table. "It's a fire beast...and...and it's Mama killed our friends for a bit and...and it's a fire beast!" It hadn't necessarily clicked that Jericho was too, but Jericho had the good fortune of not looking like a volcano. "It keeps setting things on fire..." The girl was lamenting now, looking particularly unhappy; an impressive feat for someone with only half a face.

DC could apparently sense where this was going, and proceeded to try and chew on Jericho's shoe with a low growl. Couldn't let the boil get the wrong idea, and think he was going to be good for just anybody!

"....Aaaaaahnoit'sokayreally." Flaming bat wings? No thanks! They weren't on fire anymore, but it was the principle of it all.
