Purring to himself, Daktari stretched out his body as the sun beamed down on him. He wiggle his bulky body into the cool and sweet smelling tall grass. His mismatched eyes took in the shapes of the clouds above trying to figure out which shape was what. His eyelids droop sleepily as he relaxed as the warmth spread through his body.
He began humming and purring from his childhood, one his mother had sang to him each night as a cub. He thumped his big old tail to the beat and twitched his right paw as if conducting the grass to move.

Natintrapa found her self wandering for the moment. Time had past slow while she wasn't with her new found friend. The only one she had ever become friends with instead of running away. Perhaps she should do that with more she runs into. Who knows? Maybe she'll make a ton of friends. Though she didn't want to make too many. She didn't think she'd end up staying in one spot for too long.
She moved slowly looking at the ground before her paws as she moved. Her attention was off today, not like normal though. Her mind was filled with better things then what they were normally. Things were turning around for her now. Things were beginning to fall into place like she had hoped something would so long ago.
She almost didn't realize she wasn't alone, though a soft humming came to her ears. It was almost so faint, that she almost missed it with the fact she was completely day dreaming. Her ears flicked up, and she stopped in mid walk with one of her paws up in the air. She started to look around for the body that the humming came from. She wasn't insane, or at least she hoped she wasn't. That had to be coming from someone else, not her.
It didn't take long before she realized what it had come from. The pink of the male lion made it very easy to spot. Though, that was odd... Pink... And a male? She raised a brow and just ended up staring at him dumbly for a few seconds. Then she realized how stupid she must look. Especially with her paw up in the air. She placed it down and just watched him for a few moments. This was her moment to meet someone new. Risk it with someone else, maybe. She hoped he wasn't mean. She didn't know if she could handle a mean lion any time soon.
She hesitated for a moment before moving towards him. She could feel hear heart pounding a little, but not as much now. He was nice, she knew it. What male that was pink was mean? She didn't know. She didn't know any males that were pink. "Hello!" she said friendly enough. Hoping that he would respond with the same type of friendly manor.

Daktari had been almost asleep when the sound of a shy feminine voice broke him of his rest. He blinked hazy pink and blue eyes over at the almost gray female. "'ullo there." He spoke in a groggy sleepy voice as he tilted his head. It didn't occur to him to stand up right away, but when it did he flopped his bulky body to the right. Little bits of grass stuck in his windblown and messy hair as he stood slowly. Daktari smiled a dopy grin at the female before speaking. "Can't recall ever seeing you before, you must be new 'round here."
No Daktari wasn't the sharpest feline around but he had a good heart and if you ever messed with his pride or family there would be hell to pay. No one messed with his family

Was it that obvious she was new here? That was the second time someone had asked if she was new around these parts. Or rather something along those lines. She wondered if it was just because of her color, or if they actually paid attention to everyone's detail? Or she just stood out like a sore paw. No matter, it wasn't too much of a problem for being noticed as new. Not like she'd stick around too long, maybe. She didn't know.
"No, I'm not." She said. She was rather relieved that he was nice after all. Pink was a calm color, maybe it made those with it calm? She didn't know, nor did she want to completely assume. Assume made an a** out of you, her mother had always told her when she was a cub. She was a smart lioness, more smart then Natintrapa thought about herself. "You come here often, then?" She asked him curiously.
She wasn't really shy, she just didn't know how to act around others. Not with things that happened before. Though, she didn't think about them too often today, today was a good day. So far anyways, she had wandered away from her new found friend, but only for a bit. They were to meet up later and start doing some exciting things. Or at least what would make their life more exciting. Whatever that meant. They both were lost on that. She was hoping to ponder on ideas, but running into someone else was fine enough. For now. Maybe she could get ideas from this male? Though he looked kinda tired.

He wander over to a tree and rubbed himself on it to get rid of the ich on his right side. Arching his back at the good feeling he listened to the little female speak. "Oh, okay." He said dumbly and was silent for a few minutes. "Yup, this is my home. I am very familiar with this area, love it here!" He purred happily and backed off from the tree to walk closer to the female. " Just realized I never introduced myself." He bowed, almost to the point his mane covered most of his face. "My name is Daktari, nice to meet ya."
He then proceeded to sit down and watch a butterfly fly infront of them. It landed on his nose, making him look at it crossed eyed. He looked up at the quiet laughter that came from the female infront of him. He smiled goofily before asking, " What's your name? Where do you live? Do you have a pride?" He liked to question everything, it sometimes threw other animals off. He was a curious thing and enjoyed learning anyway he could. Much to the annoyance to some animals.

She froze for a moment at his question. Her heart pounding in her chest a bit more. She didn't like where this was going, she didn't want to talk about her past. Her mind raced for a few moments before she answered. She hoped to god he wasn't one of those nosie type of creatures. Not that she had really run into any. Or rather, she hadn't let her self run into many. She didn't want to have to explain it, yet wasn't rude enough to just ignore it completely.
"I'm Natintrapa." She said at first not sure how to answer the rest of it. Though simple as it could without him asking too much more on it. "I don't live anywhere, and I don't have a pride." She said. She had the look as if she didn't want to talk about it. Maybe that was enough to get to a different subject. The day was going so well too, she hadn't thought about it until this second.
Though one thing shouldn't make the whole day bad, right? She tried to calm herself, as she waited for him to reply to what she had said. Maybe she could change the subject before waiting for him to do it. That way she could avoid what she wanted to avoid. "What is there to do around here for fun?" She asked him curiously. Her heart was slowing, yet it was still beating at an abnormal rate for her. She could fill her muscles tighten and untighten as she sat there.

" Natin-tra-pa," He spoke slowly, trying to pronounce her name correctly. It sure was a long name that was for certain. "Nice to meet you!" He watched the emotions flit across her face and tilted his head. She sure was an expression little thing, that she was. "Fun?" He continued on, momentarily forgetting his other questions. "Hmmm, well I do enjoy fishing in the river or swimming is nice to 'specially on those horrible hot days." He wrinkled his nose at the thought of the humidity making him sweaty and his fur frizz.
"If water play isn't your thing, then there's also the hunting grounds. Lots of prey 'round there." He thought in silence for a moment to think of what else there was to do. "I also like playing hide-n-sneek in the tall grass with my friends. Also, depends if you want to have fun alone or with others." He sat twitching his tail contently and waited for a response.

Swimming? She never thought about trying that before. Swimming was something she didn't want to try. Then again, she couldn't say she didn't like it until she did. Strange male, he was, but she supposed he had good ideas. Fishing, she didn't know what fishing was. She tilted her head at him for a second. "Fishing?" She asked him curiously. She'd never seen or heard of something like that before. It sounded fun, whatever it was.
"I don't think I can hunt something just for fun" She said with a small giggle. "It seems almost completely mean, and harsh to the creature that's living." She told him "Almost a shame to kill something for no reason, except for mere pleasure." Then again, she knew that something would eat it if she killed it and left it, but still. She had a hard time killing something unless she needed it. Though, that was also part of the deep hidden past she was trying to bury and forget.
"How do you play hide-n-sneak?" She asked him curiously, another thing she'd never heard of doing before. She wanted to get as much information as she could out of him before trying any of these. Or having him show her would be wonderful too, but that was probably too much for her to ask. At least, maybe. She didn't want to try it yet. She wanted to wait and see how he responded to her questions. Hopefully he didn't mind too much.

"Oh, when you put it like that... I don't think I could do that for fun either. More for survival then fun I suppose." He flipped his tail back and forth enjoying this conversation business. It had been a while since he took the time and chatted about anything and everything. "Oh, well." He paused and thought of an explaination. "It is more of a childs game but some adolescents enjoy themselves while getting their hunting skills up to par." He shook his head to clear up his thoughts to get down to the explaination. " Anyways, one creatures hides behind rocks, trees, bushes, or anything that would conseal their body. While the other creature goes about trying to find the one hiding or being consealed. I used to play this alot with my mother or father, they wanted to see how I would be able to survive and also they wanted me to have fun."
He looked about into the forest, "Ah yes and fishing. Fishing can be quite relaxing. Atleast it is for me when I am down by the watering hole. The creatures inside the water, they are very delicious." He leaned closer and whispered the last part with a wink that ended up a blink as his stomach growled. " Infact, I can teach you right now if interested? I have a craving for some fish." He licked his lips in hunger.

Natintrapa tilted her head at him as she listened to him explain stuff. The Hide-n-seek game seem fun in her mind, though she had never tried it and wanted to. You couldn't say you hated something until you tried it at least once, or maybe twice. She smiled at him as he spoke. It was amazing how much information you could get out of other random strangers. "it sounds really fun, I'm going to have to try playing it sometime" She nodded. Taking careful note to remember all the instructions to tell Urza about them later.
"You... you can?" She looked at him curiously. She didn't know what fishing was or what fish where, but he said they were delicious. Why would he lie to her. Though, she wasn't too thrilled with the idea of water, or getting wet. But hell... she had to try it at least once. Maybe the fishing were worth it.

Daktari nodded in agreement. "Of course I can, it does involve getting wet and killing another animal though... It can get quite messy." He spoke with warning as he thought of the fish gutting and bits of fish going all over. "Come follow me and I will take you to the watering hole were we can begin fishing."
He waited for her to come up to him before Daktari lead them to the place where they would begin to fish. Once there he looked down into the water and noticed it was quite busy inside the watery world; lots and lots of fish. "Ah it seems that we came at the right time Natintrapa, lots of fish about!" He beamed at her before turning back to the water. Slowly he put one paw underwater and stood still with his paw facing upward. "Now you just want to keep as still as possible, allowing the fish to feel secure enough to swim closer to you before..." He whispered out before moving his paw at lightening speed to flick out a fish from the water. "Catching the enemy unawares and there you have it a fish!"
As the day went on Daktari found himself having fun teaching his female companion tips and tricks of fishing. But the day was heading into night and he found himself longing to move on to other parts of his home. He bid his friend a farewell and before moving off into the forests of his home.
END.
