By this point everyone in the Negaverse had experienced it once or twice, and one came to tentatively expect after the first couple of times: the sensation of being yanked into the subspace against their will, usually because there was something important going on. It was always a shock, but it got easier to deal with the more it happened to you. The first time was always the worst time... or so they thought.

However, this time was undeniably different, and entire new degrees of painful. Instead of the normal strange pulsing sensation and the scent of ozone that came a lot with it, this pull into the subspace quite literally burned -- it felt like a set of white-hot, razor sharp claws had dragged them downward into the frozen underground cathedral. It felt like hate. It felt like pure, unfiltered rage had brought them here instead of a sentient force.

Even the leadership of the Negaverse -- Laurelite, Marthozite, Apatite -- looked caught off-guard. Laurelite's hair was mess and frizzed in an unmistakable bedhead, and her normal composure had been broken by a look of utter confusion.

The message was clear: even the higher-ups had no clue what was going on. This had not been planned.

”So, I ask him about Valentine’s Day and if I should worry about buying a new dress, and do you know what he does?” Up to this point Vicky had been pacing the room, gesticulating widely as she ranted about her boyfriend, but now she moved to sit on the bed next to the bluenette. ”He gives me this blank look and goes ‘Is that already?’ As if he had no idea it was even February!” The redhead rolled her eyes looking at her cousin. ”Jojo, I don’t think I’m going to get a Valentine’s Day.”

One moment Victoria Collins had been sitting on her bed, talking with her cousin about her latest troubles with Blake, and the next she was being yanked into the subspace. What the hell?! This wasn't like the last time though, this time was painful, and if she was a weaker person she would have been screaming. Her body felt like it was on fire; as it were she bit her lower lip until it bled, a bright red trickle making its way down her chin.

When she landed in the subspace as Petalite she was on her knees, hands splayed against the ground. She licked her lips, tasting blood and grimaced, lifting one hand to wipe the blood from her chin. What the hell was going on? She looked up, flicking her orange hair out of her eyes, searching for her cousin. When she found Linarite she moved to her side, not saying anything. She knew better than to question things when it came to the Negaverse. Catching the bluenette’s eye she flashed her a small smile, just another day in the Negaverse, right?

Crossing her arms over her chest, she looked for their leaders, landing first on Laurelite and then Marthozite. Bedhead and naked chests? They didn't seem to know what was going on either. Not that she minded, shamelessly staring at Marthozite's abs. She found the General King ridiculously attractive, but she knew she had no chance. He didn’t seem like the type to sleep with Lieutenants. He didn’t seem like the type to sleep with anyone really, which was fine since she had Blake, and she could always stare at the General King from afar.

Although now was probably not the time to stare and fantasize about her boss, now was the time to figure out exactly who brought them here and why. She twisted looking at the rest of the Negaverse who was popping in after them; they all looked as confused as she was. It seemed like nobody knew what was going on.

Bismuthite was as new as new could get. A few days, if that, of Lieutenancy. This sudden summoning had caught him off guard, and completely popped his summon cherry. It was only sheer will power and ego that he didn't cry out in pain. He did grit his teeth through, and his eyes were shut tight - the vision beneath his lids stark white - and brows knit in an obvious pained expression. But pride would not let him make a sound. It was pride that would inevitably have to be whittled down.
But alas, there was Bismuthite - caramel skin and pale silvery hair, rose-pink eyes, and bright uniform a vague resemblance of a cowboy. He was on his knees, no doubt rendered there because of the pain. Pain he could feel in his stomach, his muscles, his head, his veins. His knuckles were white, but as the excruciating discomfort subsided, Bismuthite found himself eventually able to stand, though wobbly at first, he did his best to make it not appear so. To appear macho. It was a bravado that comforted the boy who knew he was a the bottom of the totem pole here.

Before being summoned, he had been painting. He noticed the paint still on his fingers, dry, and flaking. Those pink eyes then rose to scan over the others there. Many, many others. All outranked him, if not by title then by days of service.

He fell to his knees the moment he resurfaced into whatever the heck he was at. He wanted to say the HQ, but something was strange about it. He never felt this raw, as if his nerves had been peeled with a potato feeler and his flesh was splashed with hot acid. Even his insides felt as if someone had fed him hooks and now each one was pulling out with an invisible line, wanting to tear him apart. It was why he didn't come to gain his bearings at all when he teleported into whatever place that, he hoped, was worth such pain. It wasn't the first time he associated the Negaverse with some degree of anguish, but this had all those other ones beat a hundred times over.

Whatever sense of power he had as a captain had been stripped from his mind, and he felt as weak and vulnerable as his civilian self as he curled his hands in, gasping as he hugged his arms close to his chest and bended over, wondering if it would be better to throw up or pass out. A cold sweat broke out and he felt flush and dizzy, his vision blurring in and out of focus as he stared at his knees, curling in. If he was suppose to bow, he at least got that right, but it looked more like he would be toppling over and curling into the fetal position instead.

A flicker of an idea told him he should man up, get to some semblance of a proper stance for the Queen, of which he assumed had summoned them as was how their normal meetings went, but that was a hard thought to put into action. He was trying to keep himself from passing out, and instead gasped hard, the waves of hot and cold rushing over him as he tried to recover. One moment he felt as if he was in a microwave as his molecules begged to explode, and then it was like being tossed in the arctic waters. Still, it was lessening, to some degree, and he just focused on the basics of 'in' and 'out' that made up his breathing.

When he at least managed that, he looked about and noticed his fellow officers. Lieutenants, Captains, Generals, and the recent addiction of General Kings and Queens. They all looked as bad off as he did, and he was glad he wasn't the only one suffering as badly. At least that meant he wasn't somehow strangely affected to a worse degree then the rest, not that he would want to wish this on anyone.

He wondered if bringing up the issue of unpleasant transportation would be allowed in this meeting.

Serah had been lying in bed, her pajamas on and bunny slippers accompanied her. Serandite, having been in the negaverse fairly early, was accustomed to being transported in suddenly. But never like this.

Serandite had fallen on her knee, it could have been mistaken as a position of respect, if not for the haggard look in her frame and posture. She was breathing heavily, her hands moved slowly up to the side of her head to tie her loose hair back into her usual side ponytail. At this point, she sunk down to both knees on the ground, heaving a heavy sigh.

To put it plainly-- everything hurt. Why were they there, called out of nowhere? Well, they were always called out of nowhere. But this time was obviously different-- One hand moved up and down her other arm, as if trying to rub the sensation away. But it lingered, painfully, as one could see in her wince. She attempted to kneel to the confused superiors in front of her but .. well, she wasn't much better off than anyone else.

.... But she was a General. In a struggle of effort, the General fell to her knees in front of the others, one knee bent towards the ground, one knee up, her head lowered.

Tanzanite rarely ever left Negaspace those days, unable to keep a hold on her human form for more than a few hours at a time. With her promotion to General had come a reversal of what most Negaversers knew. Whereas she once had to call upon the power of the Negaverse, drawing it in and wrapping it around herself until it took hold of her skin and transformed her into Tanzanite, she now struggled to hold it inside. Every moment in Aree Cadence's skin was thick with effort, like trying to keep a spring compressed at all times.

She was already in what she now thought of as her 'natural' form, sitting on the edge of her bed when the pain ripped through her. It sliced as cleanly through her pale body as Kunzite's sword once had, and by the time the white spots faded from her vision, her plain and boring bedroom had been replaced by the darkness of the Negaverse sanctuary.

Somehow, it felt much more like home.

Her gaze fell on those around her, frame bending in a deep and respectful bow to each of the three who outranked her. Those of equal rank were given a polite nod, those below her only a glance. Now was not the time for pleasantries. It was obvious that whatever had brought them here had left their ranking officers just as confused, and Tanzanite was not one to waste time in the middle of what felt like a crisis crisis. She looked to others as they arrived. For those who had not seen Tanzanite since her promotion, there were plenty of changes, the most striking of which might have been the voice that began calmly issuing orders. The steady female tone was still there, but a second one echoed every word, a raspy and unnatural sound. It sounded like screaming, dulled and twisted into barely recognizable syllables.

“Captains, Lieutenants, fall into formation. This is not a ******** sleepover.”

That hadn't been something Painite had been expecting, to be sure. Yes, her name happened to have Pain in it, but she certainly wasn't fond of the sensation, and to be suddenly thrust into it, with no warning and absolutely no explanation, was stupefying. It didn't help that she had never been through this, or anything remotely like it, before.

Shaking badly, she found herself sitting as if she were still on the floor in her home, but now her legs were trembling and her body was stunned. She, wobbling, tried to get to her feet and catch her bearings.

She had been enjoying a quiet night at home, up late tinkering on her additions to Mr. Saddles, watching a movie. It had been a simple, routine night, and that was what made it so nice. Interruptions, particularly as baffling and shocking as this one, were not on the top of her favorites list.

She looked around, seeing other members of the Negaverse around her, likewise baffled, it seemed.

At least she recognized some faces. It was a small comfort, to know she wasn't alone. If this was a trap, it was a damn good one: one she would have to aspire to in the future. If it wasn't, she at least could wonder about it, and imagine what it would be like to summon victims where ever she might want. Not that this was a good place to be day dreaming. It was just her mind trying to process, trying to click back into its normal functions, and recover from the shock. Put that in the back of her mind, and focus on the present.

Where was she, what was going on, who was there, and why.

It was difficult to try and wrap her head around the sensation that had coursed through her when she had been pulled to this place. Not particularly unhappy or violent, the idea of a negative emotion that strong impacting her, making her feel like it was inside her, from her, was baffling and disquieting. She said nothing, pondering things, taking mental notes as she watched the others around her.

Claudia had been at home, in her large plush bed playing Harvest Moon when she was so rudely tugged away. She had only been to one meeting before, and the travel hadn't been nearly this painful. When she was finally dropped into the subspace she was blinking tears out of her eyes, still holding onto her DS. Slowly she closed it and shoved it down the front of her dress. She didn't think her superiors would approve of her playing games.

The sound of a double voice made her turn, her eyes trained on Tanzanite. She remembered the woman, but she had looked different when she had met her. Now she was darkier, scarier, only Zanazziite wasn't all that scared. Maybe it was because her arm was a youma and she felt comfortable around them. She fell into formation quickly, resisting the urge to run over to Arm and say hello. She knew that wouldn't be appreciated.

Spinel was not used to pain; when he found himself in the subspace, therefore, he was gasping for air, hands over his mouth just in case. At least he looked to be in a proper stance for greeting the Queen, on his knees with his forehead almost--but not quite--touching the floor.

Why had it been different this time? The Queen's calls for them before had been unsettling but never exactly... this burning pain. As it faded, he straightened up and moved to his usual place, teeth gritted against the unpleasant sensation. He'd just have to explain to Tate later why he'd been late to their library trip.

Marthozite looked at Tanzanite as he settled the plating of his bamboo armor back into place, his eyes as pleased as any mentor would have been. Of course he barely knew the young woman but it didn't take an idiot to see potential in someone, and he approved greatly of the fact that she was snapping them all into place. Linarite was nothing if not a disappointment to them all, though the other Generals seemed otherwise promising with some polish.

Said bluenette general was busy straightening her own uniform and wincing from where she had fallen on her healing bruises on the cold floor. The pain that had pulled her had been like every wound in her body that she'd ever received opening again with a fury that was horrendous. It took a moment to look up and see her cousin, reaching over to squeeze her hand for reassurance that everything was going to be okay. This had happened before, but never so angrily.

And where was the queen?

"Get in formation, like Tanz said. I'm going to go and ask her if she knows anything." Certainly the fanatic would have known, now wouldn't she? Striding over with unhurried strides and a face cool as can be, Linarite approached her fellow general and pillar. Her voice was hushed. "Do you know what happened?"

Nyasa had been walking back home from work when she felt the sensation. She had just enough time to grit her teeth and dive into an unfortunately prickly bush before the pull took her.

The pull was painful, and when Mica finally appeared, she was on one knee, panting slightly. She quickly shut her mouth – she was not going to be seen as weak before her fellow Negas – but she did not immediately get to her feet. She instead focused on catching her breath and slowing her pulse. She could handle a little pain, liked it even, but that had been a bit… much.

Finally standing, she forced her body into an alert stance, ignoring the stinging cut on her cheek that she’d gotten from the bush. She looked calm enough, but her flared nostrils and clenched jaw belayed her discomfort. Her medical training told her to see to her comrades, but she fell into formation, contenting herself by doing a visual inspection of those gathered; cuts and bruises, but nothing serious that she could see.

Nevermind the fact that Raite had just finished with his bath, drying his wet hair with both hands rubbing a towel into the dark locks while he walked in his hallway. The floor beneath him gave way, and Raite fell to the vicious pain that transported them all. No matter the depth of pain, Raite would have stated that he was fine. He fell to the floor, landing without a thought, his hands curling into fists as the pain faded from his body. He manged to sit up, on his feet while his knees were bent in a nearly sitting position. One hand resting on his knee while Raite panted for breath, and stood up on his own.

With each of these summons, the negaverse sanctuary was becoming more and more familiar. Not that he cared to become more familiar with the subspace, as it always erred towards the worst when these meetings occured. He looked up, his gray eyes taking in the situation. He didn't like what he saw -- the bemusement, the confusion on everybody's faces. Even Laurelite. That was surprising, if anything else was not.

He didn't waste time with questions as it would be useless to do so, since the explanation would be given soon enough. It always was. However, he couldn't help but feel at unease with the dark energy, especially that from ...Tanzanite? She was different from when they met last .. becoming a product of the negaverse rather then a soldier to the negaverse. Still, Raite pushed that aside. Raite stood up, looking to the generals for an answer.

Pyrite had been at home, doing homework, like every dutiful daughter should. But when the queen called a daughter's duty was replaced by a duty to the queen. And the pull was great, so before the young girl could even ready herself she found the chill of the negaverse subspace sucking the air from her lungs in shock. It hurt. It burned. It was almost like her starseed was being corrupted all over again. Landing on the cool crystal floor, Pyrite coughed, trying to gain her senses. It was so new to her still. New and terrifying. Green eyes flicked around her. Strangers, yet allies. Comrades to the forces of the queen. But why? Confusion gripped her and her gloves ran along the old metal clock pendulum.

Her side throbbed from the impact of being summoned. As her mind rang out in an attempt to make sense of it all. Then she appeared. A woman with a monster, a beast for an arm, skin black and eyes more frightning then anything the tiny girl had seen before. Whoever she was, she held power. More then a great many. From the bow it was clear she was below some but-

"Captains, Lieutenants, fall into formation. This is not a ******** sleepover.”

Pyrite jumped at her voice. It was...inhuman? It was more then human. It was just as nightmarish as she. Savage, yet alien in her destructively beautiful frame. Trembling Pyrite looked at the others before quickly falling to a bent knee. What was going on, where was a familiar face? She found none, and Pyrite only felt the cold sinking into her skin, goose bumps forming on her flesh.

Tanzanite was the only one Bismuthite knew, and she had a respect from him that was far greater than the respect he would have to afford his seniors here. There was no objection to her orders. Even his pride gave way to the one who had brought him to darkness, to freedom, to where he never knew he wanted to be. To the place where he could make a name for himself, ideally, and be remembered - the kind of immortality that had been his true goal since he knew what goals were.

However remnants of pain, and a moment of vertigo brought a pause to his otherwise prompt response. As soon as the dark stars were out of his vision, though, he fell into formation.

After the effortless weightlessness of space, it would have been assumed that this being that was housed inside the Negaverse would find it not only confining, but tedious. Yet Metallia slept the slumber of the power-sated, kept quiet and blissfully uncaring of her great rock surroundings as long as quotas were met and her power grew steadily. Beryl had made good on her promise to exchange power for power and so Metallia existed out of time and space until there was something that required both her energy (which was vast) and her attention (which was terrifying).

The cavernous space that housed the Negaverse rang from nowhere with this vast terrible voice as its officers popped into being one after another. The cavern was filled with warm, corrupt human bodies and ringed with youma as it echoed through the walls, formless and inflamed. “It has begun! You have betrayed me!” The ceiling rattled with this revelation for a moment and gave it all time to sink in. “I have given you my power and asked for so little in return, you have been unable to deliver even that! And now those foul senshi reach into the core of our planet and try to take it once and for all!” Metallia was awake and she was not pleased.

(( There is no time limit for this post. Please react to this odd, angry, powerful voice in your subspace! Where is Beryl? ))
