The city of Spectra thrums with the pulse of humanity. A full, amber hued moon reclines low in the sky, her pale incandescence reflecting off the water cradling the borders of the city. Skyscrapers jut from shadowy depths, flaunting their shimmering exteriors of glass and metalwork. Vehicles of every kind jock for position at the changing lights, while bicyclists veer out of the way, zipping through the crowded streets like quicksilver. Pedestrians move en mass, chattering on cell phones, sipping coffee, and adjusting their jackets in the crisp Autumn air.
The most common complaint from the people who live here, (beyond the multitude of rats, and the obscenely high rent), is how cramped and overpopulated Spectra is. Most have no idea just how right they are.
* * *
Arcadia, the ancient realm of the Fae, is dying. The unparalleled beauty of its chaotic, kaleidoscopic landscape has become an unwelcoming stranger to its people. The tattered remnant of a paradise beyond mortal imagination, now wastes away before her children, warped and colorless. Even the most depraved members of the Fairy Folk dare not tread there if they can help it
Among the elite of the High Seelie Court, rumors have spread that the fault lies not with Arcadia's inhabitants, but with their closest neighbor, the mortal realm. Humanities's dreams and emotions, the life's blood of the Fae, have become flimsy and fleeting. It is no longer enough to snatch a fancy from the head of a sleeping child, or to inspire the painter or budding musician with a dream. The Fae must now walk beside them, sharing their joys, their suffering, and their modern world. It is a dangerous and delicate line to walk. Iron is a constant irritation, along with the growing use of technology that has made many of the old ways of telling stories and expressing oneself obsolete. However, through the centuries the Fae have adapted, many have wholeheartedly embraced the modern era and its wonders, but certainly not all. They have formed new Courts and go about their lives unseen by most. Rare is the mortal that can accurately spot a Fae for what they truly are through his or her glamour, and woe be the unlucky soul who can...
The Fae are not creatures of evil, or good. These are moral trappings humanity has adapted to their own behaviors and personal beliefs. The Fair Folk do as they please. The momentum for their actions are quite different. While humanity may be pondering on events that will occur next week, the Fairy mind is mulling over actions that will trigger an event decades in the future. The artfully dictated joke fails to be funny if one drops the punchline far too early. Revenge is not as sweet when the target doesn't realize why they are meant to suffer. And yet humanity for all its faults and foolishness is so fascinating! The human lifespan is but the blink of an eye compared to the length of a Fairy's life. But during the time that a human lives, they burn brightly, and accomplish so much. It's nearly impossible for any Fae to not take interest in such determined, tenacious creatures.

~The Fairy Courts~ Where do your loyalties lie?
The space they dwell in may have changed, but the way the Fae gather, their methods of "organizing," (I say this very loosely), and socializing, has remained true to the traditional ways of Arcadia. If a Fae chooses to affiliate him or herself with a certain group, the most prominently known are: Seelie, Unseelie, and Solitary Courts. Within these three groups fall the smaller courts of Autumn, Winter, Spring, and Summer. This is not to say that if you belong to the Summer or Spring Court you absolutely must be a member of the Seelie Court. The Fae are creatures of chaos and unpredictability, nothing is ever set in stone. These courts and sub-courts are meant to be more of a guide and a way to create some fun tension and intrigue for the players. wink Seelie: Traditionally thought to be the "goody-two-shoes" of the Fairy world. In actuality, it would be a dangerous judgment call to assume as much. Although the Seelie pride themselves on a more honorable, fair demeanor, there have been rumors of even the most pristine Lord or Lady getting their hands dirty for the sake of personal gain. For example, it is well known that murder, deceit, and jealousy run wild within the golden circle of the Spring Court. The Seelie Fae may not necessarily be the ones to drive home the dagger into the heart of their enemy, but they certainly would have no problem getting someone else to do it for them. Unseelie: Murderers, hedonists, abominations, and creatures of purely sadistic behavior are what you may have heard frightened whispers of when discussing the members of the Unseelie Court. But like the Seelie, the Unseelie have been foolishly cast with a heavy stereotype. Much like members of the human race, there are very bad individuals, and those who are just a little different, who don't fit neatly into the standards set by the Seelie Court. The Unseelie tend to gravitate more towards humanity, taking it upon themselves to become personally involved in their lives, (whether the attention is wanted or not). They also have been rumored to have a higher tolerance for iron, their curiosity with human invention and technology a boon to survival in the modern world. Solitary Fae: Most simply wish to be left alone, or gather in small groups. Whether they are Solitary by choice, or have been banished from one of the other courts, the Solitary Fae do as they please, their trust given to those who earn it. (More on their local group below.^^) ~The Four Seasonal Courts~ Autumn Court (Unseelie): One of the largest courts in the city, Fae of the Autumn Court move comfortably among the mortal masses. They choose to work in bars, clubs, underground performance groups, art galleries, and even within human politics. They adore humanity for its beauty and its horror. They have no problem blending in with a strong glamour, or contenting themselves by watching as their mortal projects grow and flourish. Current Ruler: King Kye Ashren Winter Court (Unseelie): True to its season, the Winter Court is said to be the most beautiful and frightening court to belong to. It's members have a proclivity to be rather unwelcoming and untrusting to outsiders, unless there is something to be gained by including them. Their ruler reigns through fear and punishment by example, her methods cruel and exacting. Rumor has it that she has ties deep within the mortal crime rings and well as some of the more ruthless executives and political members of mortal society. Current Ruler: Queen Belladonna Asgara Spring Court (Seelie): The High Seelie Court of Spring consists mostly of the elite and powerful members of Fae society. At least that's what they tell everyone else. They are trooping Fairies, never in one spot for too long, for to do so would bore the monarchy, and nobody wants that. When they do pass through Spectra, you can find them in the lush gardens deep within Sylvanwood Park. Current Rulers: Queen Theadella and her consort Lord Amberlyn Roet. Summer Court (Seelie): The Summer Court lives for pleasure. As long as a good time is had by all, they are happy where ever they end up. A colorful, boisterous crowd of Fae who love their King and are perfectly content to avoid the ridiculous political ploys of the other courts. Responsibility and obligation are ideas that just make no sense, and why would one waste precious energy on such things when there is so much fun to be had? Much like the Autumn Court, the Summer Court is insatiably curious about mortal society, and will happily include mortals in their revelry. Most never want to leave, and really, that's fine with them, the more the merrier! Current Ruler: King Anton Tansas Tiaryny

Rules:
1. Currently, Petite Sonnet is the soul owner of this thread. Because I do work and don't lurk on Gaia 24/7 it may take me a little bit to get back to you. Please, please be patient, I may take on outside help eventually depending on how much interest the rp generates. 2. No God-like characters, no cybering, etc, etc. Behave! Let's keep this easy and fun for everyone. smile 3. Profiles must be accepted before you begin to play. I won't know where to start you off if I know nothing about you. razz 4. Rules subject to change at any time. 5. Normal Gaia and Guild rules apply. If you haven't read those yet, pleas do so before creating a profile for this rp. 6. Please no l33t speak or chatty speak of any kind, it disrupts the flow of the rp and annoys me.>< 7. Keep the font at a regular size and an easily readable color. Itty bitty, light colored font, (like this) is super hard on the eyes and makes my head cranky. 8. If you have any issues with another player or something going on in the game, please pm me and we'll work things out. I'd rather not see stuff like that within the rp, it really wrecks the mood for everyone. 9. I realize Gaia rules cover this, but I feel the need to reiterate: slander of any kind towards race, sexuality, gender, etc. is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated under any circumstance.
~Feel free to pm me with any questions regarding character creation or general questions about the game, I'm more than happy to help you out.^^
Profile Information:

Character Name:
Apparent Age: What age do you appear to be? You could be centuries old, but someone unfamiliar with you won't be able to tell. If you want to disclose your true age, please put that in the Bio section. smile
Race: (optional) What kind of Fairy would you categorize yourself as? Don't be afraid to do a little research, there are tons of sites out there on the different denizens of the Fae. If you don't find something that tickles your fancy, make it up.^^
Physical Description and image link: Just include the link in your pm and I'll size it and put it in your profile.
Court Allegiance, (if any): Seelie, Unseelie, or Solitary? Autumn, Winter, Spring, or Summer Court?
Bio: At least a paragraph please! Describe who you are, where you came from, and whatever else you'd like to divulge to your fellow pcs. Be creative and have fun with it. biggrin If there's anything you'd like to keep secret for the time being, just let me know in the pm. wink
Glamour:
Glamour is the magic of the Fae, it is the power of dreams and illusions. Use your best judgment in how extensive you make your Fae's grasp on Glamour to be. Is she just learning how to use it? Creating nothing more than flimsy illusions that are more comical then productive? Is he a master at disguise? Can he walk through a crowded room wearing the guise of a tiny, elderly man when if fact he is an eight foot tall Troll? Every Fae has a grasp on at least the basics, he or she can change their ears to look less pointy, or their eyes from blue to green. How old you are will also depend on your knowledge in Fairy magic, so keep that in mind when creating your Fae. smile Also, only the most powerful Fair Folk can disguise what they truly are from others of their kind.

~Announcements~ 02/07/11: Currently this thread is still under construction. I hope to be done within the next few days, and will begin accepting profiles shortly after. heart 02/09/11: Just about there! I'd like to make a few npcs and a little set up blurb before I put this out there, but I anticipate no more than a day or two.^^ 02/12/11: Okay I think this is where I will stop poking at the rp until I am approved, moved to the proper thread, and have a few player profiles to work with. I hope you all enjoy the game! 03/27/11: We are officially starting! Our numbers are still lower than I would like, but I'd like to get this thing into gear before people lose interest. ~Places of Note~ Sylvanwood Park is located near the center of the city. It spans blocks in either direction, and is the coveted meeting place of both mortals and Fae alike. However, deep within the park is a place only the Fae have access to. A strong dose of glamour prevents mortals from even noticing that the place exists. A ring of ancient, towering trees encircle the sacred space. The verdant floor of soft grass extends to a small pond located in the center. Flowers bloom, wild and brilliant, their color changing with the whims of whomever occupies the space and their scent heady even during the coldest of winters. This is the primary meeting place of the Summer and Spring Courts. Although rivalry over the space has occurred in the past, the two courts have recently reached an accord to share it equally. Equinox Hotel is owned by King Ashren, the current ruler of the Autumn Court. The hotel is quite old, but breathtakingly beautiful. It is one of the most sought after places to stay within the city for humankind and the Fae. Luxurious suites and cooperate meeting rooms make the hotel an excellent place for both business and pleasure. The very top floor of the hotel is where court is held at just about all hours of the day. The Autumn King strongly believes in being available for his subjects, some wonder if he ever gets any real sleep. Glamored Fae work throughout the hotel to keep those unwanted out of the area, and to serve as guides to those with appointments. The Mask and Mirror Theater is an old, abandoned theater located in Spectra's Arts district. The area is filled with workshops, dance studios, galleries, specialty clubs, costume shops and other curiosities of the bohemian verity. Like the exclusive location within Sylvanwood Park, the theater is also curiously unnoticed by mortals. It is owned and inhabited by Quin Dantai and a small group of actors and artisans. Each has chosen to continue to avoid the seasonal courts, but for whatever reason, no longer desire to be completely on there own as Solitary Fae. Candle's End is a small, neatly hidden bar located in the Arts district and owned by Amber Reinhardt. The bar is open to mortals and Fae alike....as long as they follow the rules. This place is a neutral zone. No quarreling among courts is tolerated. It is a smokey, darkly lit establishment, furnished with numerous small tables and corner couches, a sizable bar, two pool tables, and a tiny dance floor complete with jukebox.

~The Players~
This is a work of fiction. All the characters in it, human and otherwise, are imaginary, excepting only certain of the fairy folk, whom it might be unwise to offend by casting doubts on their existence. Or lack thereof. ~Neil Gaiman
* * *
Amber Reinhardt
 Username: Petite Sonnet
Character Name: Amber Reinhardt
Apparent Age: Early 20's
Race: Halfbreed
Physical Description: Despite being caught between two very different worlds, Amber displays an amazing amount of confidence. She carries herself with a devil-may-care attitude, nothing seems to faze or impress her. She's quick to smile and make conversation with her customers as long as they play by the rules of her establishment. Lithe and leggy, she stands a little taller than the average human female, with slightly pointed ears that peek from within the depths of her long, dark hair. A striking woman with a keen, direct gaze that can be difficult to look away from, both when she's in high spirits, and when fueled by her notorious temper.
Court Allegiance: Regardless of her heritage, Amber has expressed no interest in the Seasonal Courts or their games. She has been seen speaking with many of the Solitary Fairies. Recently, Quin Dantai and his troupe have been frequenting her bar. As much as Amber steers clear of the other Fae, remarkably, she seems to have a wealth of knowledge regarding what everyone else is up to. Isn't it amazing how chatty people become while drinking? wink
Bio: Amber Reinhardt is the unplanned result of a tryst between King Kye Ashren and a mortal shortly after the mysterious death of his wife, the late Queen Helena Rosetta Ashren. The union is looked on with a mixture of disgust and curiosity among the Fae, as well as the result of said union. Fairy and mortal coupling are not unheard of, but children because of those couplings are quite rare. Fortunately, more were curious than ashamed of the King's actions, and simply could not wait to see what happened to the strange little creature when she grew older.
Amber's relationship with her father is virtually nonexistent by choice. Despite his efforts, she continually defies him, refuses his aid and firmly believes he is the cause for her mother's insanity and eventual suicide when Amber was fifteen. Wanting no part of Court life, Amber has chosen to live a mortal life instead. After graduating college, She moved out of her Aunt's house and opened her pride and joy, Candle's End.
* * * Quin Dantai
 Username: Petite Sonnet
Character Name: Quin Dantai
Apparent Age: Late 20's
Physical Description: Quin is a tall, lanky man with a ruggedly handsome face, dark, tousled hair, and clear, honest eyes. He often favors vintage style loose button front shirts and his ever present leather jacket. Although he appears to be a rather quiet man, he has a great deal of natural charisma and leadership. Quin is well respected by his fellow performers, and seems more than willing to lend a friendly ear for those he holds dear as well as encourage the people around him to be who they are, without masks.
Court Allegiance: Solitary Fae
Bio: Quin Dantai appeared in Spectra about ten years ago. Shortly after he arrived, he purchased the abandoned theater as well as a rather expensive glamour ward to hide it from the mortals before it was condemned and turned to ruble. At first, he kept to himself. He spent hours working to refurbish the theater, turning it into a living space as well as a performance hall. It was whispered that he was originally a member of a prestigious acting troupe in London, but they had broken up after a tragic accident took the life of one of the players. Speculation continues to run wild on if he and the mortal player in question were lovers, but since Quin refuses to comment on the subject, (or really any subject directly relating to his life before Spectra), most people make up their own version of the story because it's far more exciting that way. Quin adores his his musty, old theater, and has become the default "leader" to the rag-tag group that dwells there. He has never been known to turn anyone away who wished to join them and is always up for an impromptu performance.

 Dria Hollowcourt
Username: Petite Sonnet
Character Name: Dria Hollowcourt
Apparent Age: About 16 or 17
Race: Glaistig (Green Maiden)
Physical Description: Dria is a petite and delicate girl standing about 5'2" with a willowy thin figure and eerily long, slender fingers. Her hair is a deep, earthy green and flows down her back in ripples, ending just behind her knees. Her pale green skin contrasts with her wild hair and large eyes. She is often dressed in gauzy peasant blouses and long, layered skirts that cover her strange goat-like legs. She adores jewelry, and often wears bracelets that jingle softly against one another on her slender wrists.
Court Allegiance: Solitary Fae
Bio: Dria came to The Mask and Mirror about two years after Quin had renovated it. She carried herself like the convicted, jumping at every shadow and sudden noise, her face a constant mask of guilt and shame. Whatever happened to Dria before she came to dwell in Spectra still haunts her to this day. Quin was kind to her, he invited her in and gave her a place to call home for as long as she liked. As time wore on, she began to smile, the heavy weight seeming much lighter on her tiny shoulders. Dria loves planting flowers and singing. She has a sweet, bell like voice that is hauntingly lovely. But try as she may, Dria has never been able to completely purge the sorrow from her songs.

 Nixie Lark
Username: shauna_marie
Character Name: Nixie Lark
Apparent Age: 18-22
Race: Water Nymph
Physical Description: Nix definitely needs a glamour to reveal herself around humans. The bluish hue to her skin would be a dead give away that she was something other than human. However, her hair is normal enough, being an earthly brown. Short in stature, she is barely taller than five feet. Her clothes tend to compliment the tone of her skin, usually sticking to blues.
Court Allegiance: Solitary Fey
Bio: Nixie came to Spectra not too long ago, well, at least to a faery. Before that, she had found that she had grown tired of always staying within the untamed nature. Sure, it was lovely and all, but she no longer felt home there. She left without a glance back and grew content examining the humans in the city. When that grew old, all she had to do was find the haunts of her kind. There were many fae domiciles in the city. However, only one kept her attention. The Mask and Mirror Theatre. It was somewhere that she could still remain solitary, but be in a group none the less. A few years ago she officially joined the small group of fae there. The performing arts interested her so. Thus, she loves starting the little improv games that she has come to learn and being in little sketches. Ah, she loves the theatre magic.

 Lady Ophelia Dasolrath Silentleaf
Username: MitashiUchiha16
Character Name: "Princess" Ophelia Dasolrarh Silentleaf
Apparent Age: 16
Race: Glaze Fairy
Physical Description: (Exactly as image shows.)
Court Allegiance: A prestigious member of the Winter Court
Bio: Ophelia's parents were incredibly well to do, and very closely associated with King Kye Ashren of the Autumn Court. When she was seven years old, a mysterious illness drove her parents mad and led to their mutual... 'elimination'. Despite her parents standing, the Autumn Court was unable to find a suitable new home for the orphaned child. It was through an unexpected display of generosity on the part of the Winter Queen that took her in. Ophelia became known as "Princess Ophelia" because of her close relationship with the ruler of the Winter Court. However, the death of her parents caused the previously cheerful and fun-loving child to become dark and rather forlorn as she progressed into her 'teen' years (the age 40 to 120... she is currently around 87 years old). Her greatest peeve are the damn advisers that are meant to keep track of her, as the Queen never wants her leaving her immediate jurisdiction of the Winter Court, where she grew up in solitude in the palace... rather hard to do, since Ophelia is constantly escaping into the world of the Mask and Mirror Theater, watching the performers in silence. No one there knows who she is; they call her 'Snow Girl' because of her white hair and piercing gray eyes. She never says a word to any of them, never reveals her identity, and always sits in the back row. Some say she's like a ghost, because she always disappears once the sun goes down.
Personality: Being that the Winter Queen and all of her minions are as cold as ice, Ophelia's naturally jocular nature (something that she inherited from her Autumn Court parents) has been suppressed after decades of being scolded and belittled and forced into the chilled monotony of court life. She's incredibly withdrawn and anti-social, preferring to play melancholy melodies on her flute over acting on a stage. Although she is often sad and depressed, she never cries because she has an irrational fear of having her tears permanently freeze onto her face (this shows in the eye makeup that she wears). After being brought to the Winter Court, Ophelia has not laughed, and was rarely seen with a smile. She is also slightly forgetful, but incredibly funny, quick, and witty with her insults and excuses.
Other: She's an amazing flute player. Some say she is hypnotizing when she plays her music...

 Julian King (Jewel)
Username: dragonhealer
Character Name: Julian King (Jewel)
Apparent Age: 24
Race: Human
Physical Description: Jewel is five foot eight, weighs around one hundred and seventy pounds and has brown soft hair.He wears thick black rimmed glasses and always seems to be wearing a sweater even in the summer. The kid's left eyebrow is pierced and he wears a thin little hook in it. Jewel's skin is light, with a slightly yellowish tint. He has rough calloused hands that are thin and long. He had the kind of technical skill usually only found in men fifty and above, and his hands reflect that. His eyes are crystal clear sky blue.
Court Allegiance: None
Bio: Julian was not your normal kid, he 'saw' things... Something was wrong or different with his brain. Glamor seemed to have no effect on him and he saw right though it. No one ever believed him when he said that he saw things they didn't... When he wanted to be an artist do one doubted his success for a moment. He might have been an odd bird, but he had mad skills when it came to artistic anything. He was like a modern day Leonardo Da Vinci. He could build scale models of anything he wanted, design tinny machines for whimsy and fun, paint murals on subway walls and view the world though eyes clearer then any one to have ever lived in the city. The kid went to college for art and found that he was much better then his peers, he was better then a lot of people... After college he needed a job, he needed to get away he needed someone to know him for him... and not his quarks. That was when he stumbled upon the theater... it's what brought him back into the light, back to society and back to life. He convinced the odd owner to hire him on as a set painter and basic handy man. Everyone here is a bit out of the ordinary but Jewel loves it.

On the second to the last floor of the highest skyscraper in Spectra, the Winter Queen silently fumed. She ran long, tapered fingernails over the smooth white marble of her desk, relishing in the way the cool material felt under her fingertips. She paused, splaying her fingers wide, inspecting the flawless, alabaster planes of her hand.
What, in the name of Oberon, was keeping him?
She stood, pushing the high backed chair roughly away from her and began pacing in front of one of the enormous windows that looked out over the cityscape. Any drops of moisture on its surface froze, spreading outward in glittering patterns of ice each time she passed.
Her pacing stopped the instant she heard a soft tap, tap at the door.
"Enter."
A weary looking woman with dark eyes and pale hair pulled back into a severe style stepped into the room. "My lady, your son has returned."
"Excellent. Send him in."
Queen Asgara strode back behind her desk and sat down as Venya stepped back to allow the Winter Prince access to the door. His eyes remained fixed on his mother as the secretary shut the door behind him with a soft, click.
"Well," said his mother, her steely eyes flicking from his face to the small object he held in his hand, "I see as per usual, you have not disappointed me."
He nodded, stepping forward to place the black, elongated box in front of her. Queen Asgara leaned forward, gently smoothing her long fingers over its edges, "Mmmm....perfect" she murmured.
The Winter Prince frowned. He didn't know what was contained within the box, but he knew his mother well enough to recognize the subtle curvature of her lips. The Winter Queen rarely smiled...and when she did, ice itself trembled.
Something was about to happen. * * *

~The Mask and Mirror Theater~ Quin Dantai sat near the back of the auditorium: a crooked smile tugging at the corner of his mouth, his feet propped up on the seat in front of him while he watched the residents of the theater bounce around the stage bickering about what play to perform that night. His eyes fell on each player in turn, a subtle pang of worry weighing down his good mood. Running callused fingers through his messy hair, he shoved the gloom aside to be dealt with later. He leaned his head back to rest against the top of the seat, inhaling the stale air of the theater. He loved it. Every bit of it. Ever since he first laid eyes on her, a dilapidated, cantankerous mess, he saw that underneath all the dust and decay, she had been something beautiful, and certainly could be again. Rebuilding the theater had filled a space in his heart that he never thought would be whole again. Suddenly pulled out of his reverie by the sheer volume of the ongoing argument, he laughed and waved his arms in a motion of surrender. "Oy....guys! Really? If it's going to lead to a bloody masicre, why don't you all just work on some improv stuff and save me the hellish mess to clean up later eh?"

xxxxxxxxxx~ T h e - M a s k - a n d - M i r r o r - T h e a t e r ~Jewel sat in a seat halfway between the top and the bottom of the rows of chairs fanning out from the stage. He held in his hand a sketch book and in his fingers regular number two pencil. Carefully he sketched the set that would be needed for their next big show... He ignored the actor's banter and the theater owner's voice as well. It was all just sound to him. The human boy's pencil flicked across the page and he frowned down at the paper. It was all doable but nothing extraordinary. He needed to stop his dillydallying and get to work. Quin hadn't hired him to sit on his butt all day and draw pretty rooms. He had to fix the lights in the lobby today, rewire the switch and make a new softening system that wouldn't make the bulbs burst every other time it was used. The kid pushed his glasses up onto the bridge of his nose with his index finger and got up. He shut his sketchbook and walked down the row of chairs into the isle and down into the hall that led back to the lobby. Sure he was a little weird-ed out by the actors here. But he couldn't complain. This was the best gig he could ask for, now he didn't even have to pay for housing, he was allowed to sleep on the couch in the green room. The lobby was silent, the lights flickered and Jewel felt all alone and a bit scared. He knew there was nothing to fear but sometimes the old theater got to him.

.:The . Mask . and . Mirror . Theatre:. Disturb not the leaves of silence... Ophelia ghosted through the musty corridor, her white hair restricted underneath her brown hooded cape as she darted past the lit doorways of the Mask and Mirror Theatre, her only sanctuary from the relentless searches of the Winter Queen.
The theatre itself was perhaps the most wonderous piece of architecture she had ever laid eyes on. Beautiful solitude let down its tresses in the abandoned hallways of silence and isolation that defined the beautiful space that she called home... at least, unofficially. And that man, the one who had been brave enough to reawaken the awe-instilling - what was his name? - he was somewhere within these walls.
Mind you, Ophelia had no intentions of making herself known. She preferred the anonymity that came with being a ghost amongst the living, and her glamour was hardly enough to hide her otherworldly appearance when she mingled with the humans her surrogate mother so adamantly despised. But it was all trivial anyways. The trick to breaking the rules was to do it without getting caught.
As she progressed down the hallway, she heard the sound of bickering, something that she heard wtih great joy. It meant that she wasn't alone here... the lights were a clue, but Ophelia was much more satisfied to know that she was in company, for the most part.
Wrapping her fingers around the arch that served as the doorway to the left-most orchestra section of the audience, she peered through, her hair falling over her shoulder as she looked on with the utmost fascination.... for in their docility, they demand a price.

Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair In 77 and 69 revolution was in the air I was born too late into a world that doesn't care Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair
Nixie Lark At The Mask And Mirror Theatre Nixie was sitting amongst the arguing cast members. She wasn't up for fussing over a show at the moment. Her mouth had remained shut, the only one to do so, and she merely listened. After a while, it had gotten annoying. Just before Quin had stood up and shouted at the troupe, she had had enough. So, she had sighed and stood up, not saying a word, making her way up the aisle and out into the lobby.
She thought on Quin's words, though. Improv was always one of Nixie's favorite part about theatre. It was funny and unpredictable. The second thing being in a fairy's nature. Needless to say, when you had a bunch of them on stage, crazy good performances would ensue.
Nixie was brought out of her musings by the flicker of the lights. Odd. She thought Quin had hired someone to fix all of that. A human boy. Which, she thought was a bit strange. Well, Quin wouldn't have hired him unless he could get the job done.
Speaking of the human, Nixie happened to spot him in the lobby as well. Her impish side decided to come out at that moment. Of course, without a glamour, the boy shouldn't be able to see her. So, she came up behind him, invisible, and tapped him on the shoulder, donning a glamour the second she did so. He shouldn't be able to see the blueish hue of her skin with her faery magic. "Boo!" she stated with a giggle..
When pop-stars still remained a myth And ignorance could still be bliss And when God Saved the Queen she turned a whiter shade of pale When my mom and dad were in their teens And anarchy was still a dream And the only way to stay in touch was a letter in the mail
