Things were strange here for Natintrapa. She wasn't use to being in new areas. Though, her past and driven her out of her home land. She needed to find a new place to settle down and start over. It was harder then she had imagined. She was lost, in more ways then just one. Though, she wasn't about to admit that to anyone. She didn't like to admit to her flaws and mistakes.
She decided moving on was best, and eventually things would fall into place. Until then, she expected that it'd just disappoint her as she went. She was ready for that. She could handle disappointment. Taking in a deep breath, she stopped. Deciding that taking in the scenery was necessary for the moment. Few trees in the distance, it was quite lovely. After a good long moment, she started heading towards the closest tree. A nice rest before moving on would do her some good.

"Get back down here, you little meatbag!" he snarled, lunging up the tree trunk, his claws scraping and catching randomly. His jaws snapped shut repeatedly, and his tail lashed in fury. Perched just beyond his reach was a smug vulture. Its claws were wrapped securely around a surprisingly large honey badger, limp and clearly dead by something other than vulture claws or beak. "That was my dinner, you thief!"
Granted, he could easily have hunted up another something for dinner, but he was growing tired of being taken advantage of. And for this featherhead to dangle his own prey just above his nose!! With a furious roar, he lunged up the trunk again, his forpaws clutching but his hind claws scraping uselessly. Climbing trees was definitely not something he was made for. "I should eat you for dinner, longneck!"" he yowled, highly put out as he was forced to slip back to the ground again.

She heard yelling in the near distance. Which, she found was coming from the few cluster of trees she was looking at. She noticed a lion trying to climb up a tree. How weird. What she didn't see was that there was something else in the tree, that had his food. Of course, that wouldn't have stopped her from venturing over to see what was the matter to him. Why was he yelling at the tree? Though, she couldn't really hear what he was saying too well. She didn't really like the sound of yelling, and tried to tune it out, which meant tuning out the words that went with it.
She made her way, slightly fast, towards the other. Hoping that he was alright at least. Though, the thought of him being rude didn't come through her mind at all. She had never really run into a rude lion while she was wandering around. She seemed to think that as long as you wandered around, then nothing bad could happen to you. It was when you stood in one spot too long that bad things happened.
"What's wrong?" She asked when she moved closer to the other. Still not noticing what was in the tree. Her eyes were on him, not the tree. She could smell something in the air, but it wasn't something that pleased her. She wasn't too fond of badgers. They didn't taste as good as say, a gazelle or antelope. Her tail flicked as she looked at him, not stopped and about 10 feet from him. "Everything okay?" What could she do, if it wasn't? She didn't know, but she'd like to offer her help anyways.

He turned from the tree in disgust, ears flat in ire, snarling, "NO it's not alright! That stinkin vulture has my..," and right about then he realized he was looking at a female of his own species. A rather lovely one, not to say they all weren't. He stopped mid-sentence and blinked at her. It was a girl! But... what had she just said?
He opened his mouth to answer, but the vulture chose that moment to unleash a clawful of hard, unripe berries. They pelted him like pecks from a dull beak, striking his face, mane, and shoulders. The ones in his mane bothered him not at all, but the one on his nose smarted sharply. He turned back towards the squawking, laughing vulture with a roar, leaping at the tree with stiffened forelegs and bouncing against it hard with all his weight.
This had the very satisfying result of the entire tree shuddering. The vulture rasped a cry of surprise, awkwardly waving his overlarge wings in an attempt to keep his balance. The additional result was the dead ratel slid loose from where the vulture had stowed it and came tumbling down to thud limply between the lion and lioness.
"HA, take THAT!" roared Vigo, savoring his turn to smirk at the bird.

Natintrapa couldn't help but laugh as the berries hit him. She'd never seen a bird so clever as that to use berries as a weapon. It amazed her, yet made her giggle at the same time. "Are you okay?" She asked him as she watched the bird drop something dead on the ground. She didn't know what it was, or what type of bird was up in the tree. Though, she had seem many of them, she never bothered to ask them what they were.
"Those berries looked like they hurt" She giggled more. She couldn't control herself for some reason. It was just too bizarre and funny. "Sorry for laughing" She finally said when she stopped.

He tried very hard not to scowl as she laughed. Bad enough he'd been in this situation in the first place, worse to have it witnessed by a lovely lady, but to have her giggling at his predicament?! He gave up all dignity and sprawled in the grass and dust at the base of the tree and panted. He waited while her giggles slowly ran out, giving himself time to calm down and try to see things from her perspective. He had to admit, it probably had been quite comical from her point of view, even if they weren't from his.
He gave her a wry twist of a smile. "Yes yes, it's all very funny until someone's dinner disappears." He still felt rather sour about the whole thing, but was attempting to lighten his mood for her sake. "I'm fine. Just wore out from tracking this down." He slapped a paw over his meager dinner and cast another baleful look upwards at the croaking vulture who still was hopping about in the tree. He didn't want to admit it, but the entire affair had made him lose his appetite. Still, he might be able to spin this in his favor with the lady, at least. "Here, come join me for a bite, hmm?" He arched a brow invitingly to her and nodded at the ratel under his paw.

( My apologies )
Still smiling from what had happen, she looked to him then to his meal. "Are you sure you'd want that?" She asked him when looking at the bird above. "You weren't so kind to your last dinner guest" She said with a slight tease. She couldn't help it, he made it so easy to tease. Then again, she should probably not be so mean. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to tease." She said after that. Almost ashamed of herself, but she didn't show it.
"If you insist, I'd love to join you." She told him. "As long as I'm not intruding, that is." She added just in case. She didn't want to be a bother, or annoying to anyone. She moved a little closer to him, but not too close until he answered her. Just to make sure that it was okay. Some lions offered things they didn't really want to share, and she didn't want that.

He once more kept a hold on his tongue, to keep from saying that she'd already intruded. It wasn't her fault by any means that she'd walked up just at that ignominious moment. He did not joke back, only gave her a half smile at her teasing. "I did not invite the featherhead to join me," he replied steadily. "As an invited guest, I promise you are safe." A corner of his mouth quirked, but his sour mood still hadn't quite been banished as yet.
With a concerted effort, which was much more than he usually required, he focused fully on her. She was a lovely brown, with eyes only a few shades muted from his own. His tail flicked several times as his eyes roamed her, then came back to rest upon her face. With a more genuine smile, he beckoned her closer. "Come and eat. My name is Vigo. Who might you be?" It was still a little stilted, but falling back into his normal demeanor was easier by each moment. Inwardly he vowed death to every vulture he could get his claws on. For some reason they seemed to get under his skin!

He seemed nice and wanting to share with her. Even if the bird didn't get the same curiosity. She nodded at him, fully willing to trust him for the moment. She had learned to trust after a while, though she still was nervous. She didn't show it. "Well, if you insist, I would love to join you." She moved with a smile on her face.
"nice to meet you Vigo. I'm Natintrapa" She said "You can call me Nati, for short." She knew sometimes it was hard to say her name, but that was fine with her. She didn't mind shortening it up for others. As long as they didn't call her something rude, anyways.

((Goodness gracious, I'm so sorry kiya! This only needed one more post from me, and it's been so long! Forgive a Tal!))
Her responding warmth helped to further banish his surliness. A welcoming and pleasant female always brought out the best of him, or so he thought. His manner relaxed further, and he let the matter of the vulture slip to the back of his mind. Oh, there was no question, if he ever met that particular vulture again, he'd do his best to end it's plagued days. For now, though, he had a much more enjoyable future that he was starting to plan.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Nati!" he said merrily, his stiffness and awkwardness melting away. "Shall we feast, then?" With a grin he waved a paw grandly, as if he'd offered her an entire herd of zebras rather than one flabby ratel. He quickly tore off a portion for himself and left the majority for her. Settling down to this snack, he mulled that perhaps it was just as well that he'd not had his meal stolen, for if that had been so, he might not have had such lovely company for the meal. His day was definitely turning around.
