Her paws had a funny way of leading her places. In all honesty, sometimes the manx just felt like a lost kitten aimlessly trying to find her way home. However, ********* knew much better. She had no home. Every place was her home, yet every place was not her home. It was honestly the most difficult thing to explain to anyone other than her own brain.

It was a big city, with many people walking around, minding their own business. Nobody seemed to mind the small cat trotting along beside them. None of them even seemed to notice that cheery jingling sound that seemed to accent her movements. Most just moved on with their lives, not seeming to even notice that silver star on her forehead.

Today's journey had led the manx to the subway. She kept her green eyes opened and made sure to remain alert. ********* didn't want to be a soccer ball kicked around amidst the various pairs of shoes. She scampered down the stairs, past the forest of feet as they stampeded past. For a short while, she managed to find some sanctuary by hanging around a trash bin. The sanctuary was only temporary, since shortly a rather thin man with a scraggly beard sat himself next to her, shaking a metal container up at the others walking past. The cat mewled slightly, attempting to nudge the man, but rather than look at her, he simply used his free hand to push the cat away, still uttering his simple requests for change.

Sometimes, even in a crowd like this, it was possible to find someone kind enough to share a snack. A snack honestly would have been nice. A pink tongue slipped out and licked her maw, but her paws continued to move forward.

With the sound of the subway train coming to a stop, a rather overwhelming sensation seemed to hit ********* between the ears, almost completely focused upon that silvery star upon her forehead. She had never felt this particular feeling before, yet she knew it. Her ears twitched as her whiskers fanned out.

One of my girls... Her head turned sharply towards the doors that were now opening on the subway. There were too many people, and the sensation she was feeling was actually a decent ways away from her. Being the determined guardian she was, she immediately began a mad dash towards the senshi in disguise. Those feet didn't seem nearly as intimidating as she wove through them. Yet, as fast as her little paws were moving her forward, the target seemed to be pulling away. The girl wasn't in the train as it pulled away. The energy signal was moving towards the stairs.

Moving as fast as her little paws could, she kept herself going with a simple phrase. You can do it, *********! You can do it, you can do it, you can do it! She certainly wasn't a little engine that could, but ********* wanted, no, needed to find this girl! Her feet soon enough found the base of the steps, and soon enough she was hopping up the concrete slabs. Her heart felt as if it was going to pop like a balloon filled with too much air, but that didn't matter. Her fur even managed to brush along the ankles of a few individuals, who had to pause for a brief moment to take a look down, finding the furry culprit no longer present.

When she was back at the street level, she didn't have to pause and look. That mental radar was keeping her fully informed. That signal was to the left of the exit. Still a ways away.

You can do this!!

She leaned into her turn and continued racing towards that sensation.

That girl.

That Asteroid.

And just as suddenly as that sensation had managed to creep up on her, it raced off. Far faster than human feet could carry someone.

"...no..."

Her feet skidded to a halt, the pads of her feet complaining bitterly as they scraped across the rough concrete. ********* didn't even care about who was around her to hear her voice.

"...no..."

One of her girls. She had finally found one more, and she had escaped. She had fled. She probably got in a car of some sort and now was going to be miles away from her.

No... no *********, stop that! Stamping a paw down against the ground firmly, she attempted to find something positive out of this. One of your girls is now in the city. You can find her again, now that you know she's here.

She attempted a smile, though for who, the manx couldn't tell. Taking a deep breath, she turned into the nearest alleyway. There had to be a trashcan nearby. She needed comfort food.
