Asmodeus ran a hand up Madlen's side while he was still half-asleep. Her body was pressed right against his, just how he liked it. His other hand stroked her hair gently. He had been with her for nearly a hundred and fifty years, but he loved her just as much. "Morning my love," he whispered to her.

"Mhm. What happened just before sleeping was even better though," he told her, kissing her back. He could love her forever, and he planned to. "How did you fare?" he asked, buying more time with her in bed.

"When we were like this," he told her as he moved up on top of her, making him want to do what they had done the night before all over again. He carefully moved back, cuddling her again. "Mmm. Too bad there's an entire circus out there waiting for us. And still we had kids too," he said. Although he had said it like it was a burden, he smiled. He loved their daughters. It had certainly taken them long enough to come into the world, but it was well worth the wait. Still, after all of their waiting and years of wisdom, teenagers were teenagers and theirs had left to try and move about in the world on their own. It still hurt to think that they had thought that the circus was not where they belonged. He was sure it was showing on his face what was on his mind, but he was too deep in thought to care.

"I could, but I don't think I will at the moment. Better for you to crave it even more," he said, his own grin appearing briefly. "It's still not good that they left in the first place. They see the world as they go with us. The only thing I could think of is that they wanted to get away from us," Asmodeus said, his brooding expression returning.

"I just don't like the thought of out little girls out in the world. It's a very different place from the one I was born into and even the one you were born into," Asmodeus replied. It was not often that his soft, fatherly side managed to seep through, but it was now. "I think if it were a different time I might be more understanding, but we've seen how the world has moved."

"That's because the world isn't completely changed and you had the misfortune of experiencing the world as it is now before it was this way," Asmodeus said, thinking how it was almost like a vision. Madlen had to go through something terrible. It was something that had become common, something that sickened him to think of.

"Of course their capable children. Look who their parents are. But you're right, remembering it is difficult. I don't want to see them end up like one of those news stories. Luckily we've passed the milk carton stage of their life, but I don't want to see something bad happen to them. I guess this is what most parents feel though, right?" he asked. It was always hard for him to think of them growing up. He had always joked about buying a shotgun just for when they started dating, but now he could see it in a far less joking manner. He had not even considered another incident from a ghost.

"I suppose you're right," he said leaning down to kiss her. "Why is it you seem to have all of the sense?" Asmodeus asked as he began kissing her neck. Somehow he had come to do all the worrying and she had grown much more wise.
