Frost was looking for a fight. Not in a bristling, testosterone fuelled 'I'm'a go punch whoever gets in my way' fashion, in fact he didn't even want the fight for himself. What he wanted was a fight for the glaceon who padded along beside him. He had hoped to find other people down in the training area, but as he approached the door it sounded remarkably quiet on the other side. When he pushed said door open and stepped through only the emergency lights were on, but the main lights quickly reacted to his presence and illuminated the training stage.

Apparently he had picked a bad time to come down here. Perhaps he should have made arrangements with somebody to meet down here in order to train together but... Well, not only was he still a 'newbie' here, he was well aware that he was a weird newbie. Currently he could count the (humans) friends he had in the Kodo region on the fingers of one head. It didn't bother him too much, he had plenty to keep himself busy with, but having once actually had an actual friend it was a little galling to go back to being a complete loner. He could go all day without anybody speaking to him save to give him orders, unless you counted his roomate as 'somebody', and Frost did not. He only spoke to him to ask him to clear out so that he could have a girl over anyway...

Still, somebody was bound to come down here before long. Resigned to waiting, and glad that he had prepared for such an eventuality, Frost sank down onto a handy bench and opened his book. It was not a very good book. It was, in fact, a terrible book, but it was something of a teen sensation at the moment and he at least wanted to know what about the thing was so very attractive to so many, and yet so abhorrent to so many others.

Skiron was not terribly surprised that they were waiting. Personally he felt that his trainer ought to have sorted something out with another rocket, but while he knew his human was very smart, he also knew he was very dumb. Both were failing he was happy to forgive, however, as the blond reached out to stroke his ears absent-mindedly. He could wait.

Korianna wandered aimlessly through the many hallways of the headquarters. Rayen and Koray padding along behind her, every so often shooting evil glares at each other. Perhaps it wasn't the best idea she'd ever had to try and make an Ivysaur and a Growlithe become friends but she was certain they would at least learn to tolerate each others presence without making a big fuss over being forced to work together.

Ear buds firmly in place she took a sharp turn to the left as she began to sing along with her music. A movement ahead of her caught her eye and she looked up to see a male entering the training arena. Quirking a brow she made her way towards the door, still singing and head banging to Shinedown's "Sound of Madness". By the time she reached the door her hair was a mess, and her neon green and blue highlights were more like, random strands amidst the rest of the black hair. She waited outside the door for a few more minutes as she finished her song before taking the ear buds out and draping them around her neck and making a half hearted attempt at fixing her hair. With a nod at her pokemon she opened the door and entered the training compound.

As she entered the room she scanned it quickly, the guy she had seen entering was the only one here. Looking down at Rayen and Koray who were now doing their best to irritate each other, and in turn, their trainer she glared at them. "Knock it off you two." her voice was stern, commanding, and both pokemon ceased their senseless bickering. Making her way over towards the bench that Frost was sitting on she looked over his Glaceon and grinned. "Hey there. I don't think I've seen you around before, are you new?"

The book snapped shut and Frost looked up sharply; he had managed to lose himself in the text already, and the girl's sudden appearance had startled him somewhat. "Oh... Hello." That was a start. What was it she'd actually said? He'd been paying so little attention to the world around him he had to think for a moment to work that out, but when he did he continued; "Yes. We are fairly new, transferred in only a couple of weeks ago... Did you come down here looking for a battle?"

He hoped so; he quite fancied the idea of pitching Skiron against the two pokemon by her side. One battle with a type advantage, which he suspected he would win, and one with a disadvantage, which he would probably lose. Losing from time to time was healthy, both for Skiron and for himself. Never get complacent, or you would lose when it really counted.

Unlike his trainer, Skiron had been paying attention, and he called a friendly greeting to the unfamiliar pair... Didn't look as though they were the best of friends. Ah well, if they were mostly going to be battling hopefully things wouldn't get too awkward.

Korianna grinned as he replied, she could tell he had been lost in the world of the book he was reading, whatever it was about, and that amused her. So often she was guilty of that exact same behavior, either lost in her reading, or her music, or just lost in thought. "Um... actually I was just wandering and saw you duck in here so I figured I'd come in..." That didn't make her sound like a stalker did it? She pondered over that for a little while before shrugging and realizing she didn't really care if it did.

"Transfer huh? Where from?" Before joining up with Team Rocket Korianna had traveled to many regions studying pokemon and learning all she could. When she returned home a Team Rocket member had battled her and after losing, invited her back to HQ as a trainee. It had been nearly a year since then and she was now officially considered a grunt. She couldn't wait until she was promoted again, being called a grunt was so degrading.

Koray, upon being greeted by Skiron, bounded over to the ice pokemon, sniffing curiously, he'd never met a Glaceon before. His bushy tail wagged happily as he assumed a play bowing position, attempting to entice the other pokemon into a game.

Rayen on the other hand returned the friendly greeting with a civil one of her own, she wasn't really one for the company of other pokemon unless they were of her own type and demeanor. She rolled her eyes as her new partner made a fool of himself and made a point of turning her back to the both of them, ignoring them as best as she could.

...Oh. She'd just followed him? Was that a good thing? Presumably... presumably she was just being friendly? Coming over to greet an unfamiliar face? He certainly wasn't the sort of man who usually got followed around by girls for more... hormonal reasons (he really did hope this continued to be the case because, ew, girls), and she seemed too genial to have followed him in here just to make fun of him. Still, he wasn't entirely sure that this wasn't some elaborate lead up to mockery that he might or might not notice, and so he remained wary.

"Johto," he said eventually, "I cam from Johto... Oh, and you may call me Frost." Introductions were important; people valued such little niceties, were more likely to think well of you if you remembered them, and Frost was just about socially aware enough to know that he needed as much help as possible with social situations. The more little boxes he could check early on in a relationship with somebody the less likely they were to peg him either as 'freak' 'creepy freak' or 'probable serial killer'; being labelled as probable serial killer by a co-worker never led to good teamwork.

The enthusiastic greeting from Koray earned a chirr of friendly amusement from Skiron. The ice-type, however, was not one for boisterous play and so while he bobbed his head in return to the play-bow he went no further than that. Instead, he turned to regard the grass-type... who had turned away from him. Now it was Skiron's turn to roll his eyes, and looking back over at the growlithe he jerked his head at Rayen; wasn't she rude?

A blush crossed over her face as Korianna realized that she hadn't yet introduced herself. Way to go, now he's liable to think I'm some sort of stalker. Perfect. Her mental scolding was quick and so it wasn't likely that he would notice the pause between his words and her response, at least, she hoped he didn't notice, that would only serve to add to her embarrassment. "My name is Korianna... usually people just call me Kori or Kora though. It's nice to meet you Frost."

Why did it seem that everything she said just made her sound more like a blubbering idiot than she did before? It was becoming obvious that she hadn't held an actual conversation with another person for quite some time. "I've been to Johto... it was nice there. I spent most of my time in Ecruteak studying at the towers and brushing up on my more... formal... dancing with the Kimono Girls." Too much information Kora. Reign yourself in! she scolded herself again, was she that starved for human companionship that she couldn't even keep her mouth shut?

Koray frowned as the Glaceon refused to play, straightening up he watched Skiron eye Rayen and then look back to him and he nodded. "Yep, she's always like that." he barked in confirmation and then glanced at his 'partner' to make sure she wasn't about to attack them.

Rayen felt eyes on her and heard Koray's remark but she did her best to appear aloof, as if whatever they were saying was below her though she did feel a brief pang of sadness that they would be talking about her behind her back.

"Korianna." Frost totally missed the blush; he might well have missed it at the best of times, but preoccupied as he was with wondering if that was her given name or if she - like he - had chosen a pseudonym to work under, he stood no chance of registering it as important. "Or Kori," he added eventually, bringing his attention back to the conversation, "very well Kori... Pleased to meet you as well."

This was not really technically true, but he was not displeased to meet her, and as such the pleasantry was probably appropriate; people lied like that all the time in order to get along with one another. He was actually a little pleased with himself for remembering to adhere to this unspoken little rule of society. He didn't need the people here to like him, to be truly pleased to see him every day, but he did need them to tolerate him enough to work with him, and preferably to have no pressing desire to stab him in the back.

"I have spent a little time in Ecruteak," Frost added after a moment, deciding that he ought to acknowledge the girl's words, "the Kimono Girls are extremely impressive. The control they display in their dance is exquisite." He much preferred a show like that to flashy leaping around. Control. Discipline. Those things took a lot more effort than just letting loose.

"I mislike being huffed at on first meeting," Skiron observed, addressing his words to Rayen, "I'm certain I don't know what I did to insult you... In any case," he regarded the growlithe again, a thoughtful frown crossing his face, "I think that either you and I, or you and your... companion will be battling soon. I can't imagine we're here for any other reason. I wonder which match up our trainers will decide on?" Perhaps one and then the other; he thought he could take the grass type without too much trouble, but the case was reversed with the fire type of course. Still, he could put up with a bit of pain; he had been promised sorbet if he made a good effort in battle today.

Korianna's smile seemed to grow even brighter as he finished the formalities, now they were getting somewhere, she knew that she was shifting her weight and fidgeting but she couldn't help it. One thing she enjoyed above all else was a pokemon battle and especially ones against new opponents because she didn't know their style, it was new, unfamiliar and above all else, exciting.

"I agree wholeheartedly, and they aren't too shabby at battling either. I challenged all of them while I was there, at that point I only had one pokemon in my possession, a fairly young Vulpix that I had borrowed from a friend. We spent months training so that the little thing was strong enough to hold his own against the eeveelutions they have. I think we challenged them a total of 7 times before we finally succeeded in beating them all...." Again she noticed she was rambling. Why couldn't she just shut up? Blushing a bit from her embarrassment she absently rubbed the back of her neck.

"So... um... speaking of battling... we are in the training compound." after this she let herself fall silent, finally, and she waited, eagerly, for his response.

Without warning Rayen turned around and made her way as quickly as she could towards her trainer. Sitting obediently to the right of Korianna she tilted her head. She would swear she'd heard the word "battling" in that last sentence! It took her a moment to remember that the Glaceon had addressed her and she looked back at the him with a cold glint in her eye. "You didn't have to do anything, I dislike most everyone." She sniffed and turned her attention back to the trainers waiting to see what would come of this new twist in the conversation.

Koray on the other hand sighed and shook his head at the way Rayen was determined to be so rude. He didn't understand her, not in the least, but he hope that he wouldn't meet another pokemon like her for a very long time. One Rayen was enough of a hassle. "I hope so, Kora and I haven't been together for very long so I am eager to prove myself."

"I never battled them," Frost admitted with a shrug, "I tended not to battle unless somebody else challenged me until I came here." He wondered what Skiron made of their more aggressive lifestyle; he knew his Glaceon well, but couldn't always guess what the ice-type was thinking or feeling. Even if he wasn't especially happy Frost had a feeling that his long time companion wouldn't let him find out; the eeveeloution always had been eager to please him no matter what. Mmh, still, it wasn't as though there had been much choice; Team Rocket or probable death was no choice at all.

"Ah, yes, and we are in the training compound," Frost nodded, returning his pale gaze to the young woman before him. "I had come here hoping for a battle; are you interested in pitching one of yours against Skiron, or first one and then the other? One battle with an advantage, and one with a disadvantage."

Skiron tilted his head slightly at the grass type, Bobbing his head at Rayen, Skiron turned to Koray. he agreed, No doubt it would hurt quite a lot but, as the popular phrase went: 'no pain no gain.'

A wide smile made it's way onto her face as he agreed to a battle she was so excited she could barely stop herself from squealing like a little girl but somehow she managed and she nodded. "However you would like to do it is fine, I know Rayen enjoys battling even if the odds are against her and Koray and I haven't really had an official battle, just training between him and Rayen so whomever you would like to battle with first is fine with me."

At this she looked down at Rayen who was sitting at her side gazing up at her with a look that clearly said "Let's get battling already!" she gave a quiet chuckle at the expression the Ivysaur wore and then turned her gaze to Koray who seemed to be getting along quite well with the Glaceon despite the fact that in the wild they would most likely be bitter enemies. She briefly wondered what he thought about the idea of battling his new acquaintance but figured that he probably knew they would end up battling eventually, after all, that's what the training compound was for.

Koray had been half listening to the conversation the humans were holding and he wagged his tail in excitement. He might get his chance at a real battle after all! Not that training with Rayen wasn't good practice but he was eager to face new opponents. "It seems like we're about to get our chance." he spoke to the Glaceon but his attention was now fully focused on his trainer awaiting her instruction.

"Well it looks as though your Ivysaur - Rayen? - is rather keen," Frost observed with a slight shrug, "shall we begin with those two?" It made little difference to him, but as Korianna didn't seem to mind either he thought he might as well just make a decision.

Skiron agreed, perking his ears and looking up at his trainer inquisitivly. he added, looking back at the fire type with a small smile, A minor extra disadvantage, but really of no consequence compared to the type weakeness.
