A soft pit patter of frozen rain descended from the sky trickling down from the large branches that stretched over head and every so often catching the mare squarely on the forehead or back. The sun seemed to be more or less happy lurking behind the clouds letting the world below live in a half wet frozen state with a rather sickening grin on its face (that is if it could smile). Miserable was how it could have been describe, absolutely the worse day to be outside and away from a rather comfortable home of family and warmth and out looking for something to ease the loneliest of little to do for the day. Another drop landed on the edge of the mare's nose eyeing it the mare went to shake her head only to be warned by a loud chirp not to do so. Yolk had found that burrowing into the mare's soft mane next to her brother was the best way to avoid getting her feathers wet from the water that fell out of the sky, not to mention it was a lot warmer inside then out.

"Well, now what am I supposed to do?" Viski replied pausing underneath a tree who long pine needles still existed despite the wintery atmosphere that had swept across the soquili land. The rain seemed to gather and slide down the needles into a circle around the outer edge of the tree leaving most of the ground underneath dry however it was little to no protection from the chilling cold that seemed to happily lurk around. The mare's stomach sent a small growling noise reminding her that she had yet the time to stop to get something to eat, seriously nothing else could possibly go wrong today than it already had Viski thought eyeing the green needles knowing that their taste was nothing of pleasure. Letting a soft sigh escape the mare decided to remain there underneath the tree until the rain stop or until her hunger won out.

Carlisle was quite content wandering along in the rain, the only thing he really did was turning his ears round and lowering them to his head, he hated water in his ears. But beyond that it didn't effect him, so much so that he seemed quite cheerful as he walked through the rain. The lack of sun left him as just a white stallion, and that was fine too, his prism of coloured sparkles could give others a headache if they looked for too long.

He was actually quite sodden by the time he saw a mare under a tree sheltering as best as she could from the rain, though he had no idea who she was, it seemed to him that he should offer some help, after all she didn't seem all that happy about the weather. So he wandered over, and spreading out the 2 wings on the side nearest her spread one over her back and the other stretched higher and hovered over her head. He wasn't touching her but his wings as good as covered her totally from the rain. Peeking round his wing he smiled in a polite but friendly manner. "Did you need some help Miss? I would hate to see you catch a cold or something worse." Which was true, he hated to see people sick and suffering though it gave him great pride and jot to be able to help then in their need.

Viski's eyes seemed to widen as she noticed a larger white stallion approaching her from in the rain, he seemed almost cheerful as if the rain had little to no affect on him nor the cold whereas she had another shiver run across her back. She noticed as he spread that he bore two pairs of wings along his back and another small pair behind his ears and his back hooves. His wings were large much larger than even her own pair of wings when she stretched them out. Whoever he was he was not of the same winged family of her own, though she had heard from others that there was a breed known as angeni's not that she had seen with her own two eyes until now.

Despite being completely soaked and uninterested in keeping himself dry he instead spread his wings over her in which the space between him and the wings was warmer and more inviting than the tree. She couldn't help but feel a bit of awe, not just because of his wings but because he had offered to help her, usually she found it the other way around it was usually her seeking to help someone else.

Shaking her head she gave him a bit of a small smile, "thank you sir I did need some help, but are you sure you don't want to get out of the rain too? I would hate to make someone else sick just for my own selfish needs."

Shaking his head gently, not wanting to shower her with drips from his blond hair, offering a gentle but fangy smile. "I'm fine, I rarely get sick, and if I do, I know what to do to get better, so calm yourself and let me help you." Not able to hide his fangs, and having seen others panic at seeing them but he couldn't help that short of pulling them out. His golden eyes showed no threat though, but he was ready for any kind of reaction.

Either way he was still smiling and friendly. "My name is Carlisle Cullen, but please call me Carlisle, I will be your escort today. Where would you like to go miss?" Carrying on in his usual friendly manner, able to tell she was cold, but he wouldn't move closer unless invited, he after all was an old fashioned gentleman in many ways and he liked it that way. Looking over his wings, trying to be sure that he had covered her totally, the rain now dripping off of his huge wings, her not getting wet any more. He guessed that if he could keep her dry like this while he took her home or wherever she needed to go then she would at least be warm and on the way to drying by the time they got there.

She gave him a soft grin back she still felt bad about causing him to go out of his way and to help her especially since the weather sucked. She noitced the set of fangs as he gave her smile oddly enough though they didn't quite look like a kalona's grin, not that she felt fear from the sight of them. His expression and golden eyes showed little interest of harming her though much like a weasel with small birds leading their prey off they always seemed to cute until the last minute, however she felt as if he felt the need to help her and allow himself to get sick then he was more inlikely not to harm her. Carlisle, now that was an interesting name most of her family all bore native names, well those who were of Alona's line those who mated it usually didn't like her grandmother Nicole.

"Carlisle thats an interesting name but I like it. I'm Asshewequa Vskihyi but please just call me Viski for short," she replied giving him another smile before a small beck nipped at her ears. "Oh, and this is Niyol and Yolk they tend to be rather shy around anyone new but they mean well," she replied as she tried to look up where Yolk had settled on her head. Yolk replied with a small chirp while Niyol remained buried in her mane. Another small growl made its way across her stomach, he had offered to be her escort and food was really the only thing in her mind other than finding her father.

"Maybe something to eat? I'm sorry but I haven't really had anything yet to eat today..." she replied with a bit of her cheeks turning a hint red.

Looking faintly dased when she told him her name, it would take him a while to remember all of it so he was glad that she had shortened it, smiling a warm friendly smile. "Its a pleasure to meet you Viski." His longer fringe dripping again as he smiled at her, he was soaked and didn't give a flying fig. Giving the little blue bird he could see a smile too. "Its also nice to meet you little one(s)?" Not sure where the other one was but maybe he would meet them later.

"Carlisle is an old name, I have no idea where my parents herd it, or maybe they dreamed it up out the blue." Giving a small shrug, it really didn't matter to him, his name was his name and it suited him just fine.

Hearing the rumble of her stomach he nodded. "Yes we might certainly find something to eat, would any direction serve you better and take you closer to home? I'll be happy to look for food with you that way if you prefer, or we can head back the way I came from, I'm pretty sure I saw some apples clinging to whats left of a tree." Most everything else had fallen off the tree, he knew the apples would be softer and bitter but they would be edible. There was also the chance they would find other things for her to eat on the way too, the ground was starting to soften and spring forth new shoots of spring, so soon there would be plenty to eat.

Niyol gave her chirp of approval before nestling further into the mare's man looking for her brother, in a way the small bird felt that her own brother's negligence could only mean one of two things he was asleep or just rude, in which she disapproved of greatly leaving the two soquilis on their own for the time being.

"It's a pleasure as well to meet you Carlisle, I just wish I could say the weather was a bit better," Viski replied giving him a bit of a soft smile, "dreaming a name out of the blue I think my parents did the same but a little overboard on it but I guess I can't complain its better than a name like Bob for a girl." She replied with another smile, truth was her family all had native names some longer than others each with their own meanings, her father was named after the dark moon while she was name under the frosted moon. She had always in a way secretively loved that he had done so, she was rather fond of him despite his strained relations with his own father and grandfather and always loved to bring him back a flower to tuck in his mane. She could feel a small flutter of sadness stretch across her heart as she thought about him, she hadn't seen him in months, it wasn't that he was busy she was always doing something else and always finding another excuse not to return home, she could feel her mood drifting to something more sullen and even worse in front of company. Letting a frown just barely make their way to her lips, Viski shifted her wings just a bit and tried to avoid letting them collide into the stallion's own body before forcing a bit of a smile back to her face.

"If you didn't mind Carlisle if we headed a little bit to the northwest that would bring me closer to where I need or should be at least," giving a bit of a reassuring nod to the stallion, " though I have to admit the apples do sound rather tempting over grass but I couldn't ask you to back track and then have to turn around again but thank you." She would have felt worse making his trip even longer though she did not know where he was truly going but she only hope him traveling in the direction towards her home wasn't straying him away from his own desired path.

Carlisle had not actually had anywhere in particular in mind for a destination when the heavens opened up. Mostly he had just been wandering, he was a wanderer, though mostly by necessity, many would see his fangs and wish him moved on, so he had stopped lingering in places, he didn't like to make others uncomfortable. Besides seeing the world was a side effect and there was always something new, interesting or different to be seen.

Nodding and smiling to her ,still not caring that he was soaked and dripping, pleased that she was dry and safe under his large spread wings. "Then that is the way we shall go." Bowing his head slightly and turning slowly the direction so she could follow and stay under his wing, following along beside her, his pace shortening to match hers, seeming quite happy to follow along with her at her pace, looking now and then to make sure that she was totally covered and protected as much as possible from the elements, hopefully she would only get a little damp. "so what brings you out in weather like this?" Knowing that the weather had been fine till this storm had hit, then again he wasn't sure what else to say to strike up a conversation. Not wanting to walk along in awkward silence.

“Hmmm…” Viski knotted her brows as she tried to remember why she had actually been in the forest and wandering around. Food, she was looking for something to eat not only for her but also for the two birds that had nested in her mane but really she guessed she could have found food anywhere. Otherwise she had no notion other than drifting towards the one place she hadn’t been in so long telling herself that the closer she got to where her father lived the more she would feel as if she was obligated to see him again. She felt a sense of guilt lingering that she was doing nothing more than avoiding by taking her time but at least she was trying wasn’t she?

“I guess you could say I am slowly moving towards home to see my father really though I am a horrible daughter in a sense. I shouldn’t have been this delayed in going to see how he has been doing….” She replied letting her voice drift off, as she remained underneath his wing unable to find an excuse in why she had been taking so long in travel. “Anyways I got sidetracked into trying to find something to eat for my two companions and I and found myself not really paying attention to the weather and got myself caught here in the forest.” Viski gave him a faint smile as if to cover for her rather oblivious nature to what was going on around her other than walking and eating.

Nodding as he walked, his expression not changing, he had no judgement to make of her like she might be expecting. How could he think her a bad daughter for not visiting her father in a while when it had been years since he had even been within eyesight of his own father. Besides he had no idea what their relationship was, for all he knew her father could be an abusive wretch, though somehow he doubted that. Either way he smiled at her softly. "I could escort you there if you like and we can find food on the way?" He didn't want to push her into going but if that's what she had been doing he was happy to get her where she needed to be. His eyes going to where he knew one of her birds to be, not sure where the other she had spoken of was, but he was pretty sure he knew a place where they could get something to eat, though now he was thinking about it what did birds eat? He thought they ate seeds but this time of year there were not so many of those, plenty of fruit though.

He was really dripping now and the weather showed no sign of easing up at all, but he was still smiling, though he didn't know what else to do. "So, uh... Any idea on what we should talk about while we walk?" Looking at her again, not sure what to say, he never liked asking questions because people usually assumed things about him and thought he was going to stalk and kill them when he asked questions, especially anything remotely personal. "So.. bad weather we are having huh?" Cringing at his own lameness.

She gave the stallion a smile and nod at the mention of escorting her to where he father lived, "I would like that thank you." Viski hoped that if he did come along she would actually finally make it to where he was, not that he would be overly pleased to see her with a stallion. It wasn't that he didn't like others it was more of less the fact that she was his baby girl no matter how old she got and no matter what she did or say would change that little fact. Though she always wondered what he father would do if she did bring any one other than her cousin Ahote home with her, She hoped he wouldn't be rude to their guest considering her father's attitude towards others such as her grandfather stopping by. She gave a small shake of her head she was sure that as long as she kept an eye on him he wouldn't get too bad that was until after their guest would leave then her father would probably start to panic over her. He met well, just a little too protective at times.

Viski gave a light giggle as he asked about the weather it was rather endearing that he was at least attempting to make a conversation despite appearing a little bit at a loss on what to say. "I'm sorry I shouldn't laugh," she replied shaking her head as she smiled "no I don't think the weather is rather pleasing at the moment. If you don't mind me asking Carlisle do you have any family here?" Viski had hoped she hadn't touched a sore spot or something he didn't want to talk about, there were some like her grandmothers who past were not pleasant so they avoided the subject when it was brought up.

He nodded when she agreed to let him escort her, at least she would get there dry and safe now. His ears and the little wings next to them however did a little drooping when she laughed, but it passed quickly, after all he had known it was a silly thing to say, but it seemed to have started some kind of conversation, though probably not the best of ones that they could have.

Shaking his head and looking at her. "I do not know... Long ago there were ones I thought of as family but I've not seen them in a long time and I've no idea where they are, so they could be around here..." They could also be on the other side of the world, but that was all so long ago. "As for biological family, no... I can't remember the last time I saw any of them, though that is probably a good thing." He and his parents had never gotten on well, he had been different from his father and that was unacceptable for the overly proud stallion. His mother had acted like a buffer when he was young but once he was grown and she was gone he had left and never returned. Most of this went unsaid as she didn't need to be burdened with his woes.

"Oh…." The mare replied in a soft tone feeling as if she had intruded into territory that was not allotted for mere strangers in a friendly conversation. It must have been somewhat in a way sad not to be able to see those he had once considered family however she in a way understood about not seeing his biological family. Despite the facade of being a close knit group her own family was held together in cracks of care and love. The only ones who had with all their heart truly cared and not judged where those of strength unnerved by traditional rules put upon them. It was really the only reason Ahote had been one of her closes friends despite him being more of an uncle of the same age as her, he had little to no notion or care of her wings or even of her purple appearance unlike his father.

"I am sorry if I intruded in your personal matters….I didn't mean to pry," she replied shaking her head slowly unsure of what else to ask. She didn't want to go and ask something else that involved making it uncomfortable or step past boundaries that were not hers to go. Looking to the ground she watched as their hooves sunk into the mud as the small rivers of rain trickled their way across the grass and dirt.
