Ambergris Town, why did she had to come here of all places? Then again it had been her idea in the first place, Acacia sighed deeply, what had she gone and gotten herself into? The town was rather spooky, and there were several buildings that were empty which the slender blonde regarded warily. With the right placement of things and some paint she could actually have a decent place of her own to come to and hang out when things at the base got too tense.
“Dile?” Inquired the pudgy blue totodile as he pulled on his owner's pant leg, she was wearing jeans, a loose fitted hooded sweat shirt that was purple in color, and was barefooted. His owner was so odd, but at the same time he wouldn't trade her for the world. Ampule wiggled as he toddled beside Acacia looking around with his large eyes, he could feel that other pokemon were around and he hopped that some would show up so that be could show off some of his skills, especially his Scary Face had he had been working on so diligently.
“Yeah I know,” muttered the blonde, reaching up with a lightly shaking hand she pushed her near-white locks behind her ear. “Creepy. Maybe if we are lucky we will run into some wild pokemon and you can test out that new move of yours.”
Ampule chuckled loudly showing off his toothy grin, she was such a great owner, almost like she knew exactly what he was thinking. Such a cute little human.

What a dump. It was nothing like home. It was excellent. He almost felt like a child again, poking his nose into disused and probably dangerous buildings. There had been warehouses with creaking stairs, forgotten machinery, tins of paint either with the lids rusted on all dried up and cracked like the surface of an alien world. His footprints in dust that swirled and gusted like a sandstorm, and cobwebs coated with it... Eventually, however, that building had boring, and he had got hungry and thirsty.
So it was that Aulus found himself wending through narrow alleyways in search of a cafe. Given the quality of the real-estate he was hardly expecting miracles, but surely there had to be some place that could cope with a bowl of chips and a cup of coffee. Failing that, a corner shop that could cope with a packet of crisps and an energy drink would do... Did anyone live here at all?
A nearby listener nearby would have no difficulty picking up his approach, although the sound of it might confuse them somewhat. Distinct heavy footfalls, and the occasional sharp tap echoed down the quiet street. The source of the mysterious tap, once eyes were clapped on him, was not mysterious at all; it was caused by the long black wooden staff he carried. This quick glance would also reveal his companion, a rather interestingly coloured absol who moved silently by his side.
Abruptly the absol came to a halt, hackles rising. "Sssol."
The patched pokemon's sibilant growl caused her trainer to stop too, and to adjust his grip on the staff as his dark red eyes narrowed. They weren't alone; perhaps this was one of the wild pokemon he had been warned about. If so, perhaps he could catch himself a new companion today.

The totodile sudden ceased his laughter as well as his steps, roughly Ampule pulled on Acacia's pant leg. Oh yes, she had heard it too, at first the slender medic had thought it was in fact a pokemon however the footsteps sounded odd.
“Hello,” she called loudly. “Is anyone there?” Her voice came out smooth even though it trembled lightly, sure she was a Rocket grunt but that didn't make her impervious to fear. A long slender finger went up to her hair again, tucking a loose lock behind her small ear nervously. Ampule was nervous too, if it was another pokemon it was a big one but if it was another human he wasn't sure how his owner would react.
Reaching down Acacia pulled the small totodile up and held him, her stride was stiff as she neared where she had heard the sound coming from, her long slender legs finally found a halt at the entrance of an alleyway. Narrowing her lightly colored red hues she strained to see the tall figure that was at the other side.
((sorry it took so long I had to take a phone call---))

Hu. Not a pokemon then. Some little girl by the sounds of it... But what was a little girl doing in a place like this? When the girl rounded the corner, he only had more questions. She was barefoot. Why would anyone walk around barefoot where there might be broken glass or something even more dangerous littering the abandoned streets? She was clutching a chubby totodile to her scrawny chest, too. A trainer of some kind then; perhaps she had come here looking for pokemon to capture.
As he looked her up and down a second time Aulus swung his staff up, resting it casually over one shoulder. "No," he replied dryly, "nobody here; I'm a figment of your imagination. Wonder if that makes you a figment of your imagination too. Perhaps we're all just figments of the imagination of some greater being. What a fine place to be asking existential questions." She didn't look like much of a threat, but he wasn't about to let his guard down, and neither was Tortie; the absol had stopped growling, but her hackles were still on end, and she was still poised ready for battle should he give the order, or should a hostile action be made against him. Never judge a book by its cover, no matter how skinny said cover might be; she obviously wasn't a threat to him, but the pokemon she clung to bore watching.

“Taaaaaaa...” Seethed Ampule at the man that sounded so rude to his owner, she was probably older than that punk of a man was, how dare he talk to his Acacia like that. Lifting a pudgy little hand up the totodile held it out and turned his head sharply to the side then huffed. Starring down at the little water-type the slender woman gave him a warn scowl.
“A figment with a bo staff, not my first idea of a good imaginary friend but I guess I will have to work with what I am given,” she drawled out in a casual tone, her voice was light and airy as she addressed the rough and tumble man. “Well, then mister part of my imagination, I guess it is nice to finally see someone else besides myself---looking for ghost type pokemon myself---oh---where are my manner's my name is Acacia. What brings you to this dump.”
Ampule gawked up at his owner with an outraged expression on his strewn up face. Huffing again the small totodile folded his arms over his chest and rolled his eyes. “Dile...toda...”

"Perhaps you would have preferred a figment with a sandwich," the muscular man snorted derisively, "and though it's none of your business, I suppose as a part of your psyche I'm compelled to tell you that I was looking for a sandwich or something myself. Seems this whole town is dead though." Dead, and full of skeletons with huffy little water types...
Bo staff.
Hu. That was specific. Wench watched martial arts movies and thought she was something hu? Well, she could try it on if she fancied... Not that it seemed she did fancy; she wasn't being hostile at the moment.
"As to my name," the staff swung off the shoulder and tapped lightly back onto the ground, "I suppose I could tell you to call me Scar, or Phantom, but I'm not that full of bull, so I'll tell you that most people call me Aulus." Looking for ghost types was a fair reason but still, strange place for a girl to be allowed to come alone. Maybe she had neglectful parents... Actually, now he looked again, she was quite tall. Maybe she was older than her frame suggested.
By Aulus' side, Tortie subsided a little and sat back on her haunches, but continued treating the unfamiliar pair before her to a dark glare. Fat pokemon, thin trainer. What a classic comedy duo. She could hardly wait for the gag with a mop and bucket to start.

Well that was something, wasn't he just the very picture of gentleman, douche. A large smirk just grew on her pale face as she gave this 'Aulus' guy a look over. He just amused her and she didn't fully understand why. “A sandwich huh,” Acacia gave a bit of a shrug almost nonchalantly. “Well if you were part of my imagination you would have packed a bite to eat with you.” She mocked flauntingly. Turning to the side, she maintained eye contact with the well-built man however she lightly motioned with her head towards the small almost fashionable backpack on her shoulders.
Grumbling lightly the totodile wormed his way out of the overly-thin woman's arms and glared at the absol as he made contact with the ground. It was clear to tell that the little blue pudge ball was still extremely young, maybe just over a few months old if that. Grabbing onto her jean leg again he growled lightly as if trying to tell her to just knock it off.
“I have a bit extra, if you would like. Otherwise the nearest diner is hell'a far from here.”

The change that spread across his face was slow, like frost being forced to melt under a weak winter sun. Instead of ice-dusted to damp grass, however, Aulus' features shifted from mildly amused in a superior way to blatantly disdainful. "Thanks," he sneered, "but my mummy told me never to take candy from strangers: I'll wait for that 'diner' even if I have to drive all the way to Kanto." Where did this bint get off? What did she want from him? If it was anything physical she was way out of luck: having mistaken her for a pre-pubescent girl (a sickly pre-pubescent girl) he was not even remotely interested in giving her so much as a kiss on the cheek.
For her part, Tortie merely hissed softly and turned her glare fully onto the thin one of the couple. What was in that bag? What was her trainer turning down so firmly? If the little twig-thing tried anything... Well, she'd take care of the totodile while her human took care of its trainer. No need to concern herself. Relaxing again, the absol went so far as to groom a paw fastidiously.

A sneer? Really? Acacia placed her left hand on her hip, he was certainly just made out of sugar wasn't he. Totally a grade-A prince charming. Jerk. “Well,” she snarled in retort. “My mommy taught me to share when I was a kiddy,” a small pause, tilting her head up she literally was turning her nose up at him. “Especially towards the less fortunate. That is what my mommy taught me, Alice.” She added the feminine name just to try and grab his ego and twist it a little. Who was he to talk to her like that, she was just trying to be nice. God she was happy to be a lesbian sometimes. It was men like this that would drive her to homosexuality all over again if she already wasn't.
“Dile, toda. Dile.” Jeeringly seethed the totodile as his owner laid into the man. That would show him for sure! Ampule snarled slightly yet held his throaty vibrations low so that it wouldn't come out as a growl, the last thing he wanted was to get that odd looking absol charging at them, that thing looked like it was itching for a battle.

He could break her like a twig. An arm, a leg, or maybe her skull; one swift blow and it would all be over for her. Given how deserted this town was, it would probably be a long time before she was found... Still, even given this fact, he didn't really want to start his visit to the Kodo region with murder, no matter how annoying the anaemic-looking little whelp was.
"Apparently your dear mummy did not teach you to pick your fights well," Aulus responded with rattlesnake speed and venom, "or how to annunciate, apparently. You're lucky I'm in a good mood, blondie, or right about now you'd be finding that extra bite of yours shoved somewhere extremely uncomfortable."
"Ssssss," Tortie set her paw back on the ground and narrowed her eyes at the yammering blue pest. Was it trying to start something with her, a baby like that? She'd have fun sinking her teeth into the dumb little brat if it came to that... But no orders so far. Fine. She could wait.

Acacia gawked startled. He wasn't one to sugarcoat things, and maybe she had overstepped some boundaries.
Daddy's smart-mouthed little princess....
Her hand twitched at her side, that was something that her father had always said about her. She knew better than to go off on people, yet, she couldn't help but lash out. Especially towards men, it was as if she had something to prove to all males.
“I'm sorry,” Acacia guilelessly stammered, “I was out of line, Aulus. I apologize.” Bending down, her knee eased onto the ground, even in the simply slow action the dirt swirled around the cuff of her jeans and licked at her bare feet obscuring the natural skin tone. She didn't want to deal with someone to heated, he had a weapon and a tough looking pokemon. She couldn't stand up to that. Tapping the top of her totodile's head, Acacia slid out his pokeball and returned him to the red and white device, he was beginning to act up.
“I'm sorry dude. I tend to get a bit mouthy without realizing. Sorry.”

At least she was bright enough to know when she was being dumb; a grin spread across Aulus' face, and the scar that marred his features made the expression twist in a slightly perturbing fashion. "Maybe she did teach you something after all," he responded, "even if it took you a moment to remember that... Now that we're pals," the red-eyed man went on, raising one eyebrow, "I've got a question for you. What's with the bare feet? Fashion statement? Some kind of new age hippy bull?" He couldn't think of any good reason to stroll around a place like this without shoes on, but so far she was shaping up to be a thoroughly weird individual.
As the totodile vanished from view Tortie gave a soft huff and lay down beside her trainer, crossing her front paws and transferring her gaze back to the thin human. On balance she was not too upset that the pale-thing had pulled her baby back to safety; there might have been momentary satisfaction in destroying it, but this surrender was just about as pleasing. It might have taken a little while, but the thin human had worked out where her place was without needs for a physical lesson. It was nice when people knew they were outmatched by her and her human.

'Some kind of new age hippy bull?'
At that the slim figured twenty-four year old blonde laughed. “Oh gawd no! I am anything but a hippy,” Acacia affirmed. “I just hate shoes, they are too constricting.” a small snarl twisted her feminine face. Childishly she wiggled her toes in the dust, her feet were heavily calloused from hardly ever wearing any sort of footwear.
“And what is up with you, do you always ask strange women about their shoes?” She inquired jokingly, her tenor soft and friendly. Crossing her thin arms over her chest the woman stood up to her full height and treated the man and his absol to a genuine smile. Acacia brushed her purple-tipped blonde hair out of her eyes as she looked Aulus up and down. He seemed a bit more like the Rocket type than she was, he seemed dangerous and edgy, she wondered if this place even spooked him out even in the slightest. She wouldn't be surprised if it didn't. Even though the city scared her, she would give her pinky to catch a Ghastly or a Haunter, she was planning to stay here until tomorrow morning. If she was lucky maybe she could catch one.

...Well, he'd already established that she was a freak, he supposed a bit more evidence tossed onto the mounting heap was no big deal. Too restrictive. She'd find it really restrictive when she ended up with a piece of glass lodged in her tendons. He understood the need for freedom of movement, Archeus knew he wouldn't spar or train in shoes, but just walking around with bare feet all the time was beyond stupid. Still, her issue, not his.
As the girl teased, or joked, or whatever about it Aulus gave another dark scowl. "I ask pertinent questions of whoever I wish," he responded, unimpressed by her abruptly friendly demeanour; either her moods swung very easily indeed (given she looked to be a teenage girl this was of course very possible), or she was being false with him. He did not appreciate falseness in the slightest. "And what about you," he went on, scowl still firmly in place, "do you always wander around dangerous places like this with only a young pokemon beside you? If there are haunter or banette or something similarly powerful here, they'd probably be able to do real damage to that totodile." Much as it had been a bit of a pest to him, he hated the idea of it being sent into a battle it couldn't handle. If Accachia (or whatever she'd said her name was) was dumb enough not to realise right away that she shouldn't pick a fight with him, then he didn't hold out much hope for her judgement when it came to picking a target to set her little water type on.

The rush of blood to her cheeks set her pale face ablaze, he really was a nasty piece of work. Acacia couldn't help but allow her gaze to fade towards the ground embarrassment and defeat prolific on her sharp features.
'Well, he is just too much. I can handle being talked down to, after all he was a man that is all they are really good at, daddy was good at it, why would he be any different. I am going to get out of here before he randomly decides it would be fun to actually do something to me.'
Mentally Acacia was already miles away her body however was fidgeting and slightly trembling.
“Um,” she fumbled for words as her eyes refocused on the present. “He is a lot stronger than what you might think, my totodile. He might be young but we both have come along way in a short amount of time. Not everyone can be strong,” Acacia's light red eyes locked onto the man in front of her. “Anyhow, Mister Aulus. I can't say it has really been all that pleasant, but I need to see if I can find a ghost-type pokemon before it gets too late. See you around.”
Shaking the cuffs of her pants free of dirt Acacia paired a wan smile for the man, she didn't want to be anywhere near him anymore.
