Ah, learning to cook is such an obstacle. Ah! But learning to cook by yourself, now there is a hurdle terribly difficult to overcome! Missus Lennyka Patrissia Dinkley knew nothing of the talents on the stove. Yet, when a nagging, overweight Growlithe of hers nagged her for something to eat in the middle of the night, she chose to oblige it instead of having her butt bitten.
Three ante meridian, Len was in the cafeteria kitchen throwing random items together to prepare a meal for her Growlithe. However, with no experience on the stove, the contents boiling in the pot looked as though it would come alive and start clawing its way towards an exit. Hestia sat quietly like a giant ball of chub with her tongue hanging out of her mouth.
"Alright, I guess this looks good?" murmured the glasses wearing girl as she plopped what looked to be a hunk of somewhat moldy cheese. Don't people ever clean out the fridges? "Oh, the heat it kind of low . . . but won't really go higher than this . . . Hestia, could you supply some heat please?"
Oh, could she ever! The Growlithe pumped a terrible Ember at the stove and caused it to explode to a medium ignite of fire. However, the flames caught hold of Len's pajamas and sent her flying out of the kitchen, her pajama back aflame.
"Wah, ah!" she cried, thrusting herself into the tuck, duck and roll maneuver. By Arceus, why!

Alexander Darien Cole walked along the empty corridor with his partner Eevee, Conrad, following faithfully at his heels. He wasn't able to sleep that night. It happened at times so it wasn't unusual to him that his brain just would not let him sleep. He had figured that maybe walking around would help him get to sleep like it had a few times but so far had no luck. He was nearing the cafeteria and was just going to pass it by when there was an explosion.
He ran in side with out a thought and took in the situation as quickly as he could before sending Conrad to find the fire extinguisher while he ran over to the woman. He knelt beside her and patted at the flames on her pajama's, glad he had pulled on his gloves before he went walking. "What happened!" he demanded as he finally put out the small flames.
Before the woman could answer though, Conrad came back and demanded his attention. His partner pointed to where the fire extinguisher was and he moved to grab it. He noticed a Growlithe nearby the woman but he didn't stop to make sure it was alright.

Len felt her insides squiggle and twirl like the crayon lines of a young one drawing upon the walls. It was than she registered in her mind: explosions were bad, very bad. In events in the future, avoid explosions as much as possible. The teal haired Rocket grunt's throat went as raw as sandpaper as she tried to scramble up an excuse for her idiocy.
"I-It was an accident!" she stammered, though her tone could not hide the fact it was certainly a lie. How childish.
Hestia jiggle-walked out of the kitchen, highly upset she was not getting her so-called "after-midnight snack". She sat her fluffy butt next to her owner who was examining the burned indication of scorched linen on her favorite pair of pajamas. No matter how much she loved fire (not so much explosions anymore), she was upset one of her favorite suit of clothing was ruined.
She tilted a head at the man and wondered ever so slightly was it terrible a twenty-one year old woman was now having her mess cleaned by another. Ah, where was Sorano when you needed him?

Alexander heard the, rather transparent, lie but ignored it for now in favor of putting out the fire. He liberally sprayed down the burning stove and the area around it for a few minutes just to be on the safe side then turned off the fire extinguisher and looked over at the woman. He turned to fully face her then put the fire extinguisher down on a nearby table. "Now, what really happened?" he demanded with a scowl on his face. Conrad stood on his right and gave a disappointed look at the duo in front of him as well.
Alexander knew just by looking at her and the situation around him that he would have another sleepless night but strangely he wasn't bothered by that. While he was scowling on the outside he was more amused more then mad but he hid it rather well, only his eyes told the truth. "Your lucky I'm not a higher up or you might be in trouble right now for this. As it is you still might be." the nineteen year old warned.
Of course after he had finished talking, Conrad's stomach decided to protest being in the cafeteria and not be getting anything. Alexander looked down at his now embarrassed looking partner with a chuckle. "Scratch that, tell me what happened while I make us a snack." he said then went to the cabinets to look for something to make with out the use of the stove.

Len pursed her lips as she raised herself to barefoot feet, swishing the elements of ashen soot off her figure. The remnants of once flames is certainly hard to get out of clothing when it is to be washed. Yet now that there was an evident hole in her garments, they would rather be finding themselves into a bin for trash rather than one for unwashed clothing. As the Rocket man demanded, than demanded and offered a snack in exchange for her storytelling, Lem harumphed.
Really now? "Really now?" she said with a stern upper lip. "Don't get so high and mighty just because you happened to save my butt!"
Hestia agreed with a "Gruff!" Unlike her owner, though, she was just glad she was getting something for her patient waiting. What a good dog she was!
Folding her arms across her bosom, Len stretched the mar of her mouth across her cheeks. She was never good at telling stories (no matter how much she wished she was an author!), but now that one was demanded to tell one, she chose her words correctly.
"I was making something to eat for Hestia, my Growlithe." A pause. "I told her to use Ember because the fire was a tad bit too low." Another pause. "And she exploded the kitchen. Happy?"

It really was funny that the emotions she was feeling played across her face like that. Alexander could see her in a nearby mirror as he pulled out stuff to make sandwiches and the ingredients to make the secret recipe of pokefood that his family passed down through generation to generation. He may not be much of a cook when it comes to human food but pokemon food was a different matter. As he worked he thought of what the woman left out of her brief story but it didn't really matter to him.
When Conrad saw exactly what Alexander was making for him and the Growlithe he twined around his partners legs like a cat. He knew what it was and he had never tasted anything better!
Alexander absentmindedly shifted with Conrad as he finished the sandwiches and started on the pokefood. "I knew I should have let you pick up manners from that Glameow." he told the Eevee then slightly turned so look over his shoulder at the woman. "So you thought using a pokemon attack would work better then simply turning up the heat on the stove?"

"It wouldn't go up any higher." she retorted. Now that was the truth, as her tonality was fair and ungentle when she was embarrassed. However, Len's definition of a low flame on a stove in actuality is a blaring fire. Ah, what would you expect for a woman who mastered and dabble really only in the matter of fire types? She did own others -- yes -- but she did not have the skill of her brother for getting to know them all. Ah, Sorano . . .
Hestia hiccuped as hunger made itself present on her face. She approached with mild curiousity and mostly avarice towards the man, scratching up her paws to the lower cupboards to get look at what he was making.
Len motioned to the side of him and snatched up a sandwich, sliding it into the chasms of her mouth with a chomp. She filled her mouth well until she turned the fellow and asked, "Sow, whab brinbs youb hereb tob TRbHQb?" Which translates to, "So, what brings you here to TRHQ?" Might as well start conversation with this guy, he was now her new company for the evening.
She swallowed, "You don't strike me as the type to really join an evil syndicate." Than again, neither was she, but she had her reason and it was not too much of a secret either.

Alexander made a 'hm' sound when she told him in would go any higher. He had seen the slightly blackened dial turned as far as it could go so he could believe her on that. But since he specialized in normal and dark types he wouldn't understand that the word 'pyromaniac' might apply here in the situation to her.
Conrad pocked his nose at the Growlithe and sniffed at her curiously for a moment but went back to twining around Alexander's legs. That Glameow was right, it does really help curb the hunger when you keep active while waiting!
Alexander finished making the pokefood then set two bowls down on the floor, one for Conrad and the other for the Growlithe. He then picked up his own sandwich, turned and leaned against the counter. "I've been here of and one for a while now but I don't stay too long so I'm not surprised you haven't seen me before." He said after decoding her question in his head for a minute. "I joined because I was bored and it's hard to find a job that keeps my attention enough that I don't end up pick pocketing." he then smirked and took a bite of his food. "Of course now I can claim the pick pocketing is for the job. Why did you join?"

Hestia gave a rather gluttonous scowl at Conrad. She stuffed her nose into the bowl, clamped the side with her mouth and scooted away as far as possible from the Eevee as possible. It was her food, hers!
Len's sorrel eyes followed her Growlithe wearing a, "What the hell is she doing?" expression. She sighed next, rolled her shoulders and tugged at one of her braidtails.
"It's not a long tale, but I will try to sum it up the best I can." she began, leaning against the kitchen counter and twiddling the ends of her teal braid now. "My parents fell into a debt after my father took blame for something he didn't do. Even so, my poppa got fired and the man who actually did the accident kept his. It was unfair. Even worse, the company's owner daughter was injured . . . than died. He sued and my family lost. I was suppose to go on my Pokemon journey at ten but I stayed home to work. Even when I was sixteen, we were still paying off the money we owed to the company owner. My family's steady intake of money was now all concentrated on paying for our debt. My brother, Sorano, had disappeared from our home when he was ten. My family said he started his Pokemon journey, so they didn't care that he left. However, my mother decided that we needed him home. We needed more money to pay off out debt since we were struggling, so they pushed me out into the world to find him and bring him back home."
Len sighed. "I traveled all over Kanto, did I mention I was from Saffron?, to find him. With no luck, I tracked down his best friend, Moose, and learned he was actually in Team Rocket. He got transferred here to Kodo. Well, his best friend had some . . . err . . . intimate relations with one of the hire ups in the Kanto branch and got me in without much trouble. They even transferred me here too. Since I've been here, I've been trying to force him back home. No, rather, I thought I could force him back home. Yet, I can't. He's broken all ties with me now that he ranked up and is now an Agent. He does talk to me sometimes, sure, but I can't bring him home. So I'm stuck here, unfortunately, trying to make the most I can. I eventually want to rank up myself . . . so I can get to where he is and talk some sense into him."
She smirked a little, and still concentrated some eyes on her hair. "I'd rather kill him than return home without him, because I don't want to face my parents' wrath . . . especially my mother's." Even with her somewhat childish tone, there seemed to be a hint of seriousness in her voice. It was truth, she hated her brother enough to want him dead. Why? Well, you don't need a reason to hate someone . . . right?

Conrad stuck his tongue out at the Growlithe and flicked his fluffy tail dismissively at her before he started to eat his food. Ah! Heaven in a bowl!
Alexander tilted his head and listened to the woman as he ate. He was quite surprised at her tale and couldn't help feeling a bit sorry for her... as well as amused. Yes people have told him he has a weird sense of humor but he doesn't care. "Sounds like your in quite the predicament there. Makes me glad I don't have siblings." he said when she finished her story.
He finished his sandwich then leaned back in thought. "Well to be honest it seems like you have a while to go before you can reach Agent status." Alexander said, referring to her clumsy actions not to long ago. "But I think with your determination you could pull it off." he said with a grin then he looked down at Conrad and watched him as he talked to the woman. "But instead of killing, maybe you should kidnap him then find a way to rope him into helping you parents in the most torturous way you can for all the trouble he's caused?"

Len twisted her mouth up. "Oh, be definitely glad you do NOT have siblings. Don't doubt me either, I'll get there soon." she replied with a huff. At this point, her eyes returned to an incoming chubby Growlithe who was making her way over to the duo with an empty bowl in her mouth. Just by expression alone, Len could tell Hestia wanted more.
"Mm, no, I would just have to kill him." she laughed. "That's the only answer."
Bending down, Len struggled to bring her Growlithe to her bosom to hold. By Arceus, she was HEAVY! The Growlithe kicked and struggled to make itself comfortable. She wasn't a fan of being held.
"Hey, how can I thank you for the food?" she asked. "You're obviously looking for something if you're willing to make something to for my glutton of a Growlithe and I."
"Gruff." She wasn't a glutton!

"Then you will just have to prove me wrong for doubting you by actually making Agent." Alexander dared with a grin. He knew very well how some people took dares. They either would get nervous or they would be even more determined then before. He was quite interested to see how she would react.
Alexander gave a shrug and a smirk. "Suit yourself but I've seen Rockets crumble under the pressure of having killed before."
Conrad sat by his partners legs and leaned against him, lazily waving his tail around. He had his eyes closed in pleasure of being full and he was starting to get tired.
Alexander tilted his head in thought of how he could respond to her question. "Simply your name and the promise to be more careful the next time you cook. After all you gave me most of the information I was after when I fed you." he grinned again after he said that.
Conrad gave the Growlithe an amused look at her for her protest. "Ee!"

"Lennyka Patrissia Dinkley." she replied. " . . . and that is not enough, though you have my word I will not make a fool of myself again . . . though can't make any promise." She held up an index finger here, and fingered the inside of her pajamas' breast pocket. Removing what seemed to be a slip of paper, she handed it to the man.
"I work in the filing department, taking care of all those important papers and stuff after everything is put into TR's database. When you're in the mood to have a snack, ring up that number by the desk. I'll take a lunch break and make you a return meal." She laughed next. "I promise I won't burn anything!" That was certainly a lie. "Thanks again."

Alexander took the paper, glanced over it then put it into his pocket. "Pleasure to meet you." He said, eyes sparkling with mirth at how 'fun' it had been in meeting Lennyka. "I am Alexander Darien Cole." he added and tipped an imaginary hat.
"Your welcome." he said and Conrad yipped in agreement. "It's a lunch date then. " he knew that she was lying about burning the food but hey, if all else failed she would be amusing company to have again.

Len had turned to leave, sloshing a few steps back to her quarters before she turned on her heel and stared back to the other.
"Mister Alexander, it has been a pleasure to meet you too." she smiled and bowed in a professional manner. He was the second person who happened to know her tale. This was certainly terrible . . . what if she were to get monitored by higher ups? Ah, she'd worry about that later. She knew herself to be no threat.
With that, she turned to leave again but paused. "Ah, one more thing." she called, now a distance away. "Hestia challenges your Eevee to a battle next time they meet!"
Hestia blanched. "Gruff!" What! She hadn't said that!
