 Rat lay on the riverbank, absorbing the sun's rays while watching Jitters and Twitch race around. Her brother had been bugging her to go swimming, but it was so warm in this spot she didn't bother moving.
Fishing is almost enough to tempt her, more then any other food fish is Rat's favorite. Still, she stays put. More content at the moment to watch her brother and their mongooses then eat.Shard wades into the water, a mischievous smile on his face. Rat didn't realize she was close enough to splash. Facing away from his sister, Shard slides under water. He'd let her be comfortable a moment longer. Right now there were some tasty looking fish begging to be caught.
Slowly Shard lifts his head so only his nose if above the water. He stands still, waiting for a fish to come too near. It's not a long wait, a small fish comes right up to his face. It's intent is to pick bugs from Shard's fur, something the buck allows for a few moments. In a splash of water he snaps his mouth open and closed, catching the fish and snapping it up. It's small enough to eat as is, which Shard promptly does before settling in for another morsel.

Fierce yawned wide, her sharp teeth glinting with the dappled bits of sunlight that glinted through the trees where she lay. Watching from afar the pair of shapes that played across the sandy beach and swam in its waters.. A pair of young little shapes by her guess. Solitary by nature, Fierce rarely bothers with engaging others of her kind. The occasional loud splashes draw her attention, making her more and more curious as to just what it is they were doing out there. After all how much fun could one really have with sand and water?
To tempted to stay idle for long, Fierce slips out from her shaded spot, stalking out across the warm sand and sunlight. A shallow frown on her face as she approaches the nearest Kimeti, a little spotted doe, her foxbuns racing around her like a pair of giddy beetles. "Well now, what kind of way is this to spend in the sand? Waiting for the crabs to n** at your tail maybe.." Fierce asked, gaze caught between this one and the other..

Looking up at the doe Rat smiles. "It's a nice day to nap in the sun. Jitters and Twitch will watch for the crabs." She flicks her tail in the direction of the two mongooses, who are too busy with their game of tag to notice. It's a good thing the crabs have decided to stay among the rocks. Not that they worry Rat much. "Your free to swim, or catch fish if that's your taste."Under the water Shard continues to fish, oblivious of his sister's company. He watches as a larger fish comes up, staying still as it examines him. Like the others it starts picking through his fur for bugs. Shard lets him, enjoying the slight pull and tickle. When the fish is at his mouth he strikes, snapping its tail between his teeth.
With a look of triumph, Shard climbs out of the water and heads up to where Rat was. Seeing this new doe he nods, then leans down to drop the fish in front of Rat. "Hello. I wasn't expecting company. I can go catch you one if you'd like." Shard takes in her look, liking the green of her coat. Even as he looks at her, Shard tries to be inconspicuous about it, not wantuing her to think him rude.
