Though lacking in funds, the 9th Division Barracks is far from being a rundown shack. Unlike the other divisions that sport newly renovated barracks, the barracks of the ninth division retains a rather dull, yet clean and well organized look. The barracks houses the different offices of the ninth division members, as well as some rooms that serve as storage spaces for past documents and archives. It also houses the editing room for the division’s monthly publication, and is situated near the training area.
Following the invasion and subsequent retaking of Soul Society, the ninth division barracks sustained minor damage throughout its structure. Because the damage was minimal, and also because the division lacked funds to repair them at the moment, most of them were crudely, yet rather effectively, repaired using planks of wood nailed on to the damaged parts like a bandage or tape.
