Things were tense between the yellow and pink lioness and her brown mate; their relationship was strained and Kikimu was trying to create a plan to get back in Anju's good graces. For the time being Kiki was enjoying having Ahnik as company, or at least close by. They were going for a stroll around the lands, Ahnik a little farther behind, keeping a close eye on her. She had requested going for a walk and exploring wanting to see more of her home lands. Like an adventure

It wasn't home, not really, but for the time being Kiki felt she might as well play along, try to make a temporary home for her and Anju. She wanted to meet others in the pride, wanting to know how the pride was run and worked, from other's.

She stumbled around a pond curiously looking at her reflection in the water. She could see herself, and the beautifully clear sky in the water. She was wondering about her appearance, did she look different? No, it didn't seem so. The small weight gain she'd been noticing she chalked up to having her apatite back and eating better than usual with more than one lion hunting. No..things were basically normal.

Little Tapo had wandered a little too far from home, to say the least. He had no idea where he was but he didn't really seem to care. Maybe he would have, if he had known he wandered a little too far into a pride's lands. He was moving in a zigzag pattern that would be hard to retrace when he turned around and headed home but he seemed to be entertaining himself sufficiently. His nose was down in the grass, sniffing his way along, nibbling at it every once in a while. Every once in a while he would glance up to see where he was but nothing caught his eye- nothing until he was close enough to notice the bright yellow and pink lioness nearby. He blinked his green eyes a couple times and, very slowly, decided it was worth investigating. He'd been warned of the dangers of predators but she didn't look like she was hunting. She looked like she was.. thinking about going swimming, maybe?

With his hooves tapping on the ground as he moved at a slightly speedier pace, he walked right up to the edge of the pond, on the opposite side Kikimu sat. He didn't say anything but stared.

Ever have one of those experiences where you feel like you're being watched. All of a sudden Kikimu felt as if eyes were on her, she turned around slowly looking for the source of the feeling and was about to shrug the feeling off. Perhaps she had the feeling of being observed because Ahnik was somewhere nearby and that was that.

Until a small shape across the pond caught her eye. Was it a hare? No, there were obviously horns. That seemed like a very tiny klipspringer?

"Hello," she asked cheerfully, she tried to be very still so she wouldn't scare the darling little thing. "Why are you all alone, little one?"

His large green eyes didn't move from Kiki while she looked around and once she found him, he smiled at her, his little tail wiggling excitedly. She was very nice, he could tell already. Splashing a little bit in the pond, he backed up and very nearly pranced closer to Kiki to get a better look at her.

"I'm exploring!" he said, tapping the ground with a hoof, "You're very pretty colors. Like a flower!"

His family was very plain, neutral colors. It was good for klipspringers, sure, but it must have been nice being so colorful, too.

"Oh, oh!" She huffed while he started to venture into the water, she was relieved the moment he stepped away from the pond. "Be careful, little one. I don't know how deep the water gets." She smiled and took small steps toward him covering some of the distance.

"Exploring?" she chuckled, goodness was it good to laugh, really laugh! "I like to explore too, that's what I'm doing right now."

"Oh, thank you very much, you have very nice colors as well. What's your name, little one?" and then remembering her manners, like she'd used them all that much lately, "I'm Kiki."

Seeming reluctant to walk right up to her at first, Tapo made sure there were several feet between them, though he gave no other indication of nervousness. He smiled when she laughed, happy he wasn't the only explorer here. It was a good place to explore, obviously, he decided.

"Thank you!" he mimicked, only remembering his manners because she thanked him, "I'm Tapo. I live back that way in the tall grass with my mom and dad and brother." He looked back in the direction he had come, and then around the area they were. The grass was different here, that's what made it so interesting.

For a moment it felt like her troubles were pretty far away, being able to meet someone utterly new and unassociated with the U'W was pleasing. It felt a lot like old times, like Anju was out on a hunt and she was left to her own devices.

"Pleasure to meet you, Tapo." Kiki found the fawn utterly adorable! Just like a cub, albeit a bit more shy than a cub would be. Perhaps being a smaller prey animal would do that to you.

"I live here, with an..odd group of lions, but I am new, so I've been exploring." she nodded, "Wont your mom and dad be worried that you're gone so long?" she thought about that statement, "Not that they should be, you seem to be very brave, and capable!"

PostPosted: Sat Jan 29, 2011 6:52 pm

Tapo's ears flicked and he tilted his head when she mentioned that she lived here with a bunch of lions. He hadn't seen a lion up close before and now he knew exactly what one looked like, that was useful!

"Exploring at home is less fun than outside," he said, nodding. Maybe it wasn't such an awesome place to explore if the only other explorer was from around here.. but then it could still be awesome for him, right? Except more than one lion might be dangerous. Mom and dad didn't really explain exactly how lions were dangerous. Kiki obviously wasn't right now.

"Dunno, I won't be gone long," he said, "Will your mom and dad be worried?" She looked like an adult but he didn't know enough about adults to think maybe she didn't hang around her mom and dad anymore.

"I think you're right, but I think it makes exploring worth while when you get to meet new animals," she nodded.

"My mom and dad?" She thought about Wahabu and Intombi, it had been a long time since she saw her father, and longer still since seeing her mother. She was sure that they must think about her from time to time, but they couldn't be worried, could they?

"I am all grown up," she chuckled, "And no matter how old you are, mothers and fathers still worry. I bet mine are not worried as much as they would be if I were little though." she nodded again, "They love to hear about adventures and exploring, and that you're safe. Do you have any fun adventure stories?"
PostPosted: Sat Jan 29, 2011 7:32 pm

"Hmmmm."

Kiki did have a point about meeting new animals, that was probably why he was enjoying this little adventure so much. Never mind that this was probably exactly the type of adventure his mom and dad would worry about him being on, chatting with lions.

"I guess you're right," he said after a long, loud, thoughtful pause. Bravely, he skipped forward now that it was decided that Kiki was safe and friendly. His head ducked down and he looked at her paws, stepping out a hoof of his own for comparison.

"Not really," he said, "This is my most exciting adventure!"

Toes were weird, he decided, drawing his leg back in.

She grinned enjoying herself, then following his gaze she wriggled her toes energetically. Kiki was thinking about being very small and curious, and the first time she'd met Anju, the first time she'd spoken to someone's familiar along beside them. Those were certainly happy times.

"Toes?" She asked curiously, still wriggling them, "hooves?"

"I am happy to know, I was on one of your exciting adventures," Kiki chuckled.

"Does your brother go on adventures with you?"

PostPosted: Sat Jan 29, 2011 8:13 pm

Tapo started when she wiggled her toes, knowing he couldn't have done that if he tried. Toes were very weird. He leaned back down to get a closer look at her toes as she chuckled, only looking back up after she asked about his brother and he took a step back.

"Sometimes," she said, shrugging, "I don't know, we don't usually go this far away."

The brightly colored lioness held back a laugh when he seemed startled by her toes wiggling. Tapo was just the cutest little thing!

"Do you know exactly how to get home? Seeing that you are so far away?" Kiki asked concerned. What if he was lost? She assumed he would seem afraid or upset.

"I get lost all of the time, my best friend, Anju has to make sure that I get to where I'm going. She..she makes sure that I stay on the right path, always."
PostPosted: Sat Jan 29, 2011 8:47 pm

"Exactly?" Tapo repeated, lifting up his head as high as it would go- which wasn't very high- to get a look around. His path had been zig-zaggy and weird but he knew the direction he'd come from. It shouldn't be too hard to get home. He wasn't quite sure how to hop without moving so he couldn't really do that to help get a look around, either.

"I think so," he said, looking back, "Why isn't your friend adventuring with you now? You know your way back, right?"

Kikimu grinned at his mimicked inflection.

"I was just asking, making sure. Do I know my way back?" she laughed happily, "My friend..she's spending time with some of our other friends. I should probably be getting back to them." Kiki wasn't sure how long Ahnik would wait, or if he would be along soon to make sure she was still here.
