Times were getting easier for the male. He had just began to figure out
that he was getting too bored of seducing the average female. The girls around here
fell for his lines so quickly. He turned their knees to butter. The thought filled him with a
dark happiness. He would use them, and steal the cubs. Its how he'd always been..what he'd always done.
The black of his pelt blended into the shadows that he stuck close to. Sure the sunshine was out, and warm. It kept him
from being able to dissappear into the darkness. But the shadows he figured were cover enough for the moment.
Blood red eyes glittered as he thought of what his next conquest would be. Oh how he loved the idea of a final female.
Maybe a girl that would be harder to woo than the rest. If it took a few days, he didnt care. He wanted to have someone fall
in love with him, and then to rip that love from them and dissappear. It seemed a good way to return to the pride.
He would stay there from then on, and tend to his cubs. But for now.. Now he needed another mission.

Optheli lay stretched in the warm sunshine, she was hungry but didn't feel like hunting right now.
Life as a Rogue was hard and sometimes very lonely but Optheli was tough, she hunted enough to keep herself from starving,
in fact she had a very decent figure for a lone lioness. She stretched out to her full length before drawing her claws through the dirt as she drew her forelegs back under her body.
She looked up at the sun and blinked. Soon it would be too hot to hunt so she got up, stretching once more she selected a small herd of Gazelle. She was in luck,
there must have been a dominance fight or something because one of the males was limping from a fairly bad wound on it's side. She crouched, keeping her tail low and stalked. Slowly she crept up on the small group, before leaping out and scattering them, singling out the injured male she began to tail him, fast.
She seemed to be stricken with good luck today as it stumbled, giving her the perfect opportunity to pounce and make the kill. Once dispatched, she looked for a shady spot to recover before munching on her kill.

He saw the lioness hunting. She was a vision of loveliness, that even Roth could appreciate.
He loved females, but he hated their inability to keep themselves alive..To keep themselves safe
from the likes of him. He often wondered if maybe he was just better at being suave than he assumed.
Because only one female had ever willingly given herself to him. She knew if she didnt, he'd have her anyway.
She had produced him four cubs, two of which he had stolen back to the Demon lands. His smile was eerie as it crept over
his lips. He didnt let her see him, no that would be too easy. He lowered his body to the earth, carefully stepping closer and closer.
The musky smell of blood hit his nostrils, and if he had been hungry, he may have decided to ignore the lioness and just steal her meal.
But he didnt have the desire for her meal, his desires ran further than that. However he had to remember what it was he wanted.
He would woo this girl..He would have her head over paw for him, and then he'd dissappear, and hopefully, he'd dissappear with a handsome
litter of cubs.
He lifted his body from the earth when he was close enough. A smile reappeared, however it was a gentle one. One that was completely fake,
yet no one could really tell by looking at him.
"Good afternoon." He said in his deep, strong voice.

Optheli took a good few minutes to recover from even the short chase, they day later than she's realised.
She looked around for a good spot to drag the kill before spotting a likely area for her to cool down and eat.
Dragging the carcass backwards she didn't see the male behind her, not until he spoke anyway. She turned, teeth bared, after all a Rogue often lost her kill to a pride but she wasn't about to let this one go without a fight.
"I killed it, it's MINE!" she snarled, backing away from the larger lion, though she had to admit he cut a fairly fine figure out here but that didn't matter much to her, not when she had a kill to defend.

He snorted, and her tone made it difficult to hide the disdain
in his features. God he hated being snarled at, normally the ones snarling lived
to regret it...some of them anyway. He blinked, a faux look of stunned written on his features.
"Im..Im not here to take your kill." He said, acting as if he was nervous..As if he was completely
opposite of what he truly felt. His mind was racing with the insults, and what hed do to her if he could.
But for now he had to play nice, as much as he was loathe to admit it.
"Why would I take from you? Do I look as if I need a meal?" He asked, looking athimself. He was a full figured,
large lion. He had always been large, and tall. Something about him had always screamed power, and he was sure thats
what his mother had been afraid of.
"Im Roth." He said, with a gentle (completely fake) gaze.

Optheli backed up a little more as he stood there, the look on his face making her feel uncomfortable, though he seemed to hide it quickly so she decided to ignore it, especially when he seemed nervous.
"You won't take my kill?" she said quietly, still not sure about this lion, he was bigger than her and obviously better fed even if she wasn't skinny, it was still clear she lived by herself, with no Pride to rely on.
"no, i don't suppose you do, very well then, don't mind me" she said and dragged the kill all the way into the shade, immediately starting in on it. She kept her eye on the other while she began opening the carcass up. He seemed to hole himself with pride and she couldn't help smiling to herself.
When he spoke again her face was well and truly bloodied. "Optheli" she answered calmly, though she still held onto the nervousness she wasn't about to let him see he bothered her.. just a little.

He tended to set off others instincts. Their minds and bodies told them to ignore him
and to keep an eye on him. However, most didnt listen. First instincts were usually right, but
others questioned themselves all too often. When you second guessed yourself, your instincts were no
longer of any importance.
He watched her eat, and it tempted him to maybe change his mind about the whole, desiring of food thing. But he quelled the feeling.
"Pleasure to meet you." He smiled charmingly, standing to walk closer to her. Of co urse he kept a respectful distance (which only furthered his irritation.).
He hated this faking thing. He wanted to show his dark side. He wanted to let her see into the demon that took his soul long ago.
However he'd lose his game.. He would lose the game far too q uickly.
"You are quite lovely. Why are you all alone if I may ask?" He asked, laying down in the grasses next to her, and rolling on his back as if he was
comfortable and completely trustworthy.

Optheli paused in her eating when he spoke again and moved closer, a lip curling instinctively in a silent warning not to come too close.
While he had told her he didn't want her kill and she had to admit, he didn't look like he needed it, it was hard to ignore what she'd learned in her years alone. Fighting for her very right to survive on her own.
Her ears lay flat against her skull when he lay beside her, then she had to let out a small laugh as he rolled onto his back. The big male looked almost like an overgrown cub and she was unused to such behaviour since very few animals were entirely comfortable and relaxed out here.
"Lovely? whatever" she said, knowing her fur wasn't the best groomed, add to the fact she'd shoved her face right into the kill and she looked downright messy, however she wasn't bothered one bit how she looked to others, she was perfectly comfortble in her own skin.
"I don't do the whole pride thing, so i left mine years ago why, what does it matter?" she replied in answer to his question.

She wasnt aware, but the blood on her maw made her that much more enticing to the male.
He loved blood, and she was painted like a lovely piece of art that he wanted to hang on his den wall.
He chuckled, and he noticed that her ears went back to her skull. He obviously wasnt doing a good job at the
kind thing. Oh well, he wouldnt give up.. Not when he knew that eventually, she would trust him. she'd be forced to.
"You are. Why would I lie? I gain nothing from a lie." He said, looking up at her with red eyes that feigned innocence and
decency. He wasnt lying, and at least honesty could shine through his orbs this time. She was beautiful, and he wouldnt lie about that.
Otherwise he might have been left with a female who he considered ugly, wanting him to be more to her. That, would never happen.
"What kind of question is that? I seem to recall you getting really antsy about my arrival. I simply assumed you
were lost or missing a pride of some sort. I belong to no pride either." He lied. He rolled onto his belly, and looked at her while cocking his head.
"You dont hear this much do you? My flirting is doing nothing to gain your approval." He teased with a grin. He was being playful now, even he was convincing
himself he was kind.. So he felt proud and began flicking his tail back and forth.

She had almost eaten her fill for the moment, though this was a kill she would likely feed from on and off during the day unless Hyenas or some other, stronger lion claimed it and chased her off. She wasn't used to much friendly interaction.
"well .. um, Roth.. i should say thank you" she said smiling. She wasn't embarrassed at all by the fact she had bits of flesh stuck between a few teeth. "If you're hungry ... there's plenty left" she offered to him.
"Don't you have much interaction with other rogues then?" she asked, confused as to why he thought she was missing a pride or lost. "That or you haven't been alone for very long, out here we defend what we kill since it's so easily taken away" she said, sitting up straight and beginning to clean herself up. She was slightly more comfortable when he said he didn't belong to a pride, it meant that no others would be following in his pawsteps towards her.
She had to laugh midlick when he mentioned flirting "So THAT'S what you're doing huh? sorry Roth, you're out of luck if you're after a willing female" she said, still chuckling. The few times she'd been around a male when it was the 'right' time was the only time she'd had them flirting with her, this was something new to her, a male flirting with her with nothing to gain.
