Avatar cabs are without a doubt the best cabs you can get for the money. I own a 4X10NEO, which has been reviewed in the most recent issue of Bass Guitar magazine. The tone, the frequency response, the price, everything about these cabs is awesome. The company buys speakers at wholesale and makes their own cabs so they make ampeg quality cabs at about half the price. Guitar or bass, Avatar's the best. http://www.avatarspeakers.com exclaim

I have an Ampeg 4x10 and it is the best sounding cab i have ever played in my life. I love it, it is my baby.

Old thread, but hey. I have a 50w 1980 Traynor head (all tube) that I run through a 300w Fender 2x18 cabinet (made around 1983, if I recall). Get really good sound all around from that setup...hehehe...

Something about playing mismatched stacks irritates me, I have to have the cab and head made by the same manufacturer. Probably pretty idiotic of me...
