I don't know, I had a really hard time trying to get him into my party, I was never able to until my 3rd time playing the game, so I would say that he was the hardest to find.

Ha ha, that's what happened to me, but I wasn't trying to get him at the time. I was like, "What?! Who is HE?!" Maybe you guys are right. But for me he was easy b/c he shows up when you fight a the boss-like mantik. I don't remember what color it was but he shows up if you have a space open.

Pesmerga wasn't difficult.....he's practically waiting for you at the Cave of the Wind. I found him easily. biggrin
Qulan? You mean Oulan? She's easy to get...just make sure your castle's at Level 2, that you have no males in your party or convoy (so going with Sheena, Culgan and all won't work), and you're ready to go. Shouldn't be a problem.
Crowley....IMO, as long as you know roughly where the secret passage is, you're okay.
I found Clive stupidly hard to get in Suikoden 1. I don't know how long I went in and out of the damn inn before I could get him. stressed

....There's a time limit to get Clive in Suiko 1? I haven't heard of that....I know there's a time limit for his sidequest in Suiko2, but this is the first I've heard of one for the first game... eek

I don't know how long I went in and out of the damn inn before I could get him. stressed CLIVE! omfg it took me FOREVER to find him in Suiko 1! i skiped getting him the first couple times i played the game, but then i wanted Gremio to come back, so i sat there for a few hours untill the little s**t poped into the inn stare

The squirrels from SII was the hardest to find if you don't get him in the beginning. Took me several days to find him.

The hardest for me to get was Gordan from Suikoden 2!! My game had a glitch or something that if I sold him stuff then it would raise how much Potch to go!!! I had to sell him everything and then do a major event. Then sell to him again and do a major event!!! It sucked!! He was the last SOD I had to get...

For the squirrels, walk around by yourself near the academy and for Gordon try selling items with high selling value. Thst should help.
