KiiMeLwi sat at the very tippy top of the slide in the indoor playground, looking down at her Mishap, whose hands rested on her cheeks as she watched her mommy get ready to slide. The green haired, feather eared guardian felt it was high time she take a break from all the work she had and take Shavi to have some fun. Well, the idea was for Shavi to have fun, but Kii seemed busy herself, acting as if she was the toddler here. "Hahaha! Look Shavi!" Screeching 'WHEE' as loud as she could, she slid down to the ground. "Ok, your turn."
Shavira watched Kii and giggled to herself. Mama could be so silly. Might as well do what she wanted...right? Bending down she picked up her favorite stuffed animal, Slinky L. Ophi, and rushed over to get to the slide herself. "Shavi's turn!" She got to the top and rested Slinky down next to her, ready to drag him down with her.

"LEMME IN!"
A gray-skinned girl with metal wings scuttled into the nearest open room and shut herself in, barricading the door and toppling to the ground in exhausted relief. A black haired doll with a featureless face clung to the panting girl, looking around worriedly.
"Safe?" She asked, head turning around 360 degrees to check out the new surroundings.
The girl nodded, pushing herself up off the ground and clutching at a stitch in her side.
"I think so, 'Dako. We got away. That was way too close."
Standing and brushing herself off, she was about to speak again when a pounding came on the door.
"Lenore, are you in there hiding from me?"
The girl called Lenore gave a squeak.
"Nobody here but us chickens!"
"Oh, alright then."
The pounding ceased, and Lenore gave a long relieved sigh. Looking around, she suddenly spotted that she had company. Giving a shy wave, she gave a rather embarrassed smile.
"Uh, hi."

Kii's head snapped back to stare at the girl who ran in. She looked to be older than Shavira. And...wait...did that doll...talk?..Nah. "Oh, er, hello hun!" KiiMeLwi strode over to the girl and bent down. "And I hate to say it, but you don't look like a chicken to me. And I'm positive I'm wearing my glasses too."
Shavira stared in awe at the obviously older Mishap. She half-slid, half-crawled down the slide with Ophi in hand and toddled over to meet her. Taking Kii's grass skirt in hand when she got close enough, Shavi peered at the girl with shiny wings. "Hi there! Shavi is Shavi...who are you?" Yeah. She's foreward like that.

Lenore gave a laugh and stuck her hand out, shaking the woman's hand briskly.
"As long as it gets Doll off my tail, I'll go with it," she said easily, letting go of the woman's hand and looking down at Shavi.
"Hullo there. My name's Lenore," she said. Her doll tugged at the feathers in her hair sharply, wanting attention. Len grabbed hold of the doll and set her down, watching as she scuttled away on all fours into the underbrush.
"-And that was Sadako. Be careful - she bites."
Smiling slightly again as she took in the pleasant surroundings, she made her way over to the little pond in the corner and took a seat on the bank. Stretching and collapsing onto her back on the soft grass, she looked up at the two with a curious expression.
"Do I know you guys from somewhere?"

Kii jumped in surprise when the toy moved and scuttled away. "Oh!" She looked in the direction it crawled and shivered, turning back. "I'll be careful for sure. I wasnt expecting that..." Watching Lenore lie down, Kii thought. Why did the name sound familiar? "Hrm...actually...AHA!" She shouted and stood straight, scaring Shavira into jumping about a foot in the air. "Sorry Shavi...Lenore...hm, last time I saw you, you were a baby. I don't think you'd actually be able to remember me or Shavira...we were both there. Wow...you've certainly grown!"
Shavira looked up at her mother with a confused look on her face, then looked back at Lenore. "Len..ore. Lenore." She liked the name, and said so. "Miss Lenore. Shavi likes. oh!" She dragged Slinky up to show to the girl. "This is Slinky L. Ophi! Bu' Slinky don' move like Miss Lenore's Sa...da...ko."

A baby?
Lenore rolled onto her side, looking at Kii and Shavi hard.
"I....I don't remember you guys. Mum never mentioned you - she might've forgotten." She said, trying to thinkif she'd seen them anywhere else.
"Oh! I remember you gave us presents a while ago - some candy and a little bird thing. Thank you, by the way," she said, looking pleased that she'd remembered.
Looking at the "Slinky"-thing Shavi showed her, Lenore nodded and looked at it with interest.
"That's very nice, Shavi!" She said, smiling again slightly. Taking a closer look at the girl, she gave a sudden yelp of surprise.
"You've got snakes growing out of you!"
She'd thought they'd been some kind of decorative belt or something. She hadn't been expecting them to be alive.

"Shavi no remember either...so'is ok. Oh! But Shavi 'members candy and birdy present! Shavi delivered herself." At the mention of her snakes, Shavira looked down. Chloris, one of the snakes on the front of her belly, was stretching outward to look at Lenore closely, looking at her as if to say, 'what did you think we were?' The others also looked at the bird girl, but kept to Shavira's side. Shavira giggled at them and nodded. "Yeah, Shavi has snakes. That one's Chloris. Shavi's friend Osso named Chloris! The othe's dun have names..." She paused and added, "yet!" She was still struggling for good names for her friends. She hadn't been able to think of anything good enough yet.
KiiMeLwi thought for a moment. "I almost forgot too. We've never actually MET, your mother and I...just sort of bumped into each other for a moment in the halls." Kii looked up and down at Lenore, thinking. "I've never even really got a good look at you till now. Are those...sharp?" She gestured to her wings. They certainly looked dangerous, but then again, those snakes of Shavira's could be dangerous too...she remembered all the bites they had given her and shuddered.

"Oh! You know Osso?" Lenore said happily. "How is he? Did he grow yet? Does he still have my present? Does he still look like a skeleton?"
The questions tumbled out one after another - she couldn't help it. She also didn't stop to think whether or not Shavi would know what on earth she was talking about.
Looking down at the snake, Len gave a curious half-smile, leaning in a little closer to get a good look.
"Chloris.... that's a good name."
Looking up at Kii as the woman spoke to her, she nodded.
"Mum doesn't get out much - she's met like five other people the whole time we've been here."
Glancing at her folded-back wings a little hesitantly, she nodded.
"They're really sharp, actually. I keep 'em folded to they don't poke out anyone's eyeballs. They're a bit of a pain sometimes, really."

Shavira smiled at Lenore. Nice girl! YaY! "Shavi knows Osso. Osso seemed good when Shavi drew pictures with him..." She glanced at her mother for a second, a strange emotion written across her features, one the green girl hadn't seen on her toddler before, but it went away so fast that Kii thought she imagined it. Turning back, "Shavi dun' know about no presents...but Osso...Osso does look like skeleton." She scrunched up her face, remembering her friend. "Osso not as big as Miss Lenore..."
Kii was impressed at how the two were communicating. Shavira remembered what the older girl had asked very, very well. She wondered why the snake girl often forgot what KiiMeLwi said. She grinned and shrugged it off, knowing how kids were. She turned her attention back to Lenore. "I've met a couple of guardians. We still have lots of introductions ahead of us, though." Noting the winged girls well...wings, again, she nodded. "I can see how they might be so...Shavira's had problems getting comfortable with her snakes sometimes too...It's good that you're so careful with them. I'd probably be a klutz and hurt MYSELF if I were you...its impressive."
"Shavi needs to be careful with snakes. Shavi dun' wanna squish her friends..." She shrugged, figuring that the sacrifice of comfort was certainly worth it.

Wishing he was here as well, Lenore nodded eagerly as Shavi spoke.
"Next time you see him, say hello to him for me. I think I was a baby the last time I saw him.... he might not remember me."
Feeling suddenly quite depressed at that thought, she turned back to Kii.
"I have to be careful - I shred stuff all the time without meanin' to. It's a major pain trying to get shirts on every day." She hesitated, toying with the new word she heard Kii use. "What's klutz mean?"

Shavira nodded at Lenore. "Shavi will say hi from Miss Lenore. She will! Shavi good at that." She absent mindedly petted Chloris with one of her tiny fingers. "Shavi sure Osso remember his friend, Miss Lenore!" She had noticed the depression in the new Mishap's face and automatically felt the need to make it alllll better.
Kii rose a finger, in her 'I'm about to teach you something' stance...but then stopped, looking confused. "Hm. Well...a klutz is someone who's clumsy...I'm very clumsy. Even Shavira's clumsy!" She laughed outwardly, enjoying this perhaps too much. "I'm sure you don't mean to...'shred' anything. I know how annoying it must be...I mean, heck, most of the time I discover I dont fit into my pants...evil cakes. Plus tails get in the way. Double the trouble." Wait. She just realized she was talking to a child about her weight. Hrm. Lenore was certainly an intelligent little girl! She felt she was talking to one of her friends! ...perhaps her friends were like little girls?
Whatever it was, Kii felt impressed by Lenore's maturity.

"Ooh. Okay. Sorta like Mum, then. She walks into stuff all the time. And trips. And breaks things." Len said, still looking a little sad. Blinking and shaking it off, she smiled slightly at Shavi.
"Thank you, Shavi. That's very kind of you."
Looking back up at Kii, the smile grew a litle wider.
"Actually...decimate is a better word, really. I'm a walking Salad Shooter."
She felt pleased with the comparison - it was true, really. All she had to do was knock into something and it was simply torn apart.
Which made shirts oh so difficult.
Somewhere in the bushes, Sadako was lurking around. She eyed the snake-girl with something like jealousy - Len was HERS. Snake-girl had no right taking her Len from her and making her happy. That was Sadako's job.
"HEEEEEYAH!"
Pelting out of the bushes, Sadako made a beeline for the little girl and threw herself at the child's head in a headbutt.
Seeing as the doll was made of nothing but fluff and velvet, Shavi probably would have been hurt worse if she'd had a rolled up paper ball thrown at her.
Floofing down onto the ground, Sadako got up with dignity.
"Got you," she said, putting her hands on her hips.
Staring at the quite possibly insane doll that had just bounced harmlessly off Shavi's head, Len could do nothing but roll her eyes.
"Do your toys do that?" She asked Shavi, looking exasperatedly amused.

KiiMeLwi laughed outwardly, again, impressed. "I can't say if your mum is or isn't, but she certainly sounds interesting. Perhaps we can meet again sometime. Hey...speaking of which...where IS your mum?" She searched around the large room, as if thinking Lenore's guardian was hiding in a bush or a tree.
Shavira's face turned a nice shade of pink, not expecting the compliment. "Naww...Oh?" Her attention turned to the small doll, which had randomly flung herself at Shavi's head. Shavira barely reacted, other than her eyes widening and rubbing the spot where Sadako bounced off in confusion. "Who got Shavi and why did Shavi get got?" She bent down to her knees to be more at level with the talking doll.
Not exactly turning to Lenore, Shavira shook her head. "Shavi's friends have never done..." she searched for the right word. "...well..that."

"She's at work - she's a scientist. She gets to blow things up."
Len decided not to mention that Crow did that at home, too. Glancing down at Sadako, she shrugged.
"She's being a dork."
Sadako pointed at Shavi angrily, her blank eyes flashing.
"Sadako got Snake-Girl! Len MINE! Snake-Girl not being Len's friend. Len only needs Sadako. PBBBTTH!" She yelled, blowing a raspberry.
Len poked Sadako, scowling a little. Possessed toys could be so rude sometimes.
