Vasilissa walked along her usual route to the hotsprings. She needed the relaxation. It was the anniversary of her parents death and she'd been feeling exhausted all day - emotionally and physically. 10 years. 10 years since that day and though she hardly remembers what happened she knows when it occurred. How can one forget the day a piece of them is ripped away? it's burned in her mind forever. But only that. No other details. Not what happened, not how and why she survived. Nothing.
A sigh escaped parted lips and she wondered who it was who saved her and why they left her to her own. Did they not want her? Were they threatened? She didn't understand and she wasn't sure if she wanted to.
"Now is not the time to remember such sad things," she chastised herself. "I should remember the good times."
She smiled now, remembering how, despite how busy he was, her father always had time to show her something new or tell her a new story. He sheltered her from the harsh realities of the world and while he had good intentions it didn't really help her now when she needed to know everything that was going on.
Her mother, her sweet and caring mother. She was always there with a smile and a kiss ready should Lissa ever needed it. She loved her unconditionally and oh, she loved her mate. Lissa longed for a relationship as strong as that. Lissa longed for the happiness she knew back then.

"Easy Thesh-ah." came poets gentle voice with a soothing stroke along her neck. This did very little in the way of calming her, Thesh-ah still shifted her weight nervously from hoof to hoof as poets nimble hands gently undid the various buckles and clasps that held the torn and tattered battle vestments in place. Taking off the vestments wasn't something Thesh-ah enjoyed doing for reasons that could be clearly seen. Scars and wounds still healing covered her petite yet battle hardened frame. Underneath those vestments in her mind she was just an ugly mare, a torn and tattered version of her old self much like the vestments she had just removed. Thousands of dangers she had faced with determination no matter he outcome, hundreds of foes she had battled. She was everyone's strength everyone's self appointed guardian yet The one things she couldn't face was herself. "just try to relax." poet offered as Thesh-ah stepped quietly into the soothing water of the hot spring. "after im finished with the repairs ill come right back allright?" but thesh-ah was to lost in her own reflection . . .her permanently masked refection and her memories to care what was said.
(so all she has on at this point is the mask and all you can see is about halfway up her neck and her head. the rest is underwater.)

Lissa sunk into the water, the warmth seeping into to her skin, loosening her taught muscles, escaping as a sigh from her lips. It really was what she needed. Relaxation and alone time, even if she was alone with her thoughts and memories.
Her eyes were partly closed with sleep when the sound of voices made her tense. It's not that she was scared, she just didn't feel like being around anyone today. Company lead to talking and talking lead to revealing things she shouldn't, but couldn't help reveal.
Peeking around rocks, she eyed the mare on her own, soaking in the water. Something.. stirred inside her, flashes of things she thought had been lost forever. She gasped and jolted, the water splashing around her. Ducking back behind the rock, she breathed heavily. What the heck was that?

Deftly her ears swiveled in the direction of the splash. It appeared who ever had made the splash was hiding from her and most likely afraid of her. This was hardly uncommon and defiantly not hard to belive. "Certainly know how to make a gal feel welcome." she commented a tad sarcastically but with good humor. She tried to relax to let the hot water work on her vast amonts of tension as best it could manage. After a moment she craned her head upward a little to look over the top of the rock to possibly spot a glimpse of her all to shy companion. "If you don't want to talk or introduce yourself I'm allright with that but don't hide from me. Its more uncomfortable than any silence. Besides I asure you I'm not the monster I appear to be." she added managing a slight smile.

With a sigh, Lissa peeked out from behind the rocks, eyeing the mare. No flashes came and for that she was truly relieved. She mustered a smile. "I'm sorry. It's not that you scare me, I'm just not in a very talkative mood today."
Pausing awkwardly, Lissa honestly felt bad for insulting the mare. It wasn't her intention. "But, I suppose exceptions can be made." She moved a little closer, emerging from behind the rock. "Is this your first time here?"
Lissa studied the mare closely and carefully now. She couldn't pick it but.. there was something about her that seemed so familiar. Something she'd forgotten that she HAD to remember, no matter what the cost. Lissa knew it was important, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to remember.

She waded her way across the pool to a more shallow end where a large sea sponge her human had wedged between two rocks latherd in lavender scented soap waited. "that's understandable I have those moods myself. I've been here once or twice before.what about yourself?" she replied before turning to the mare for the first time. That particular shade of pink of the mares coat really struck a familiar note and judging by the look she was getting Thesh-ah must have seemed familiar to her as well. "such a pretty mare you are. what did you say your name was?" she asked.

"Vasilissa. Or Lissa if you prefer." She blushed at the compliment. "I would return the compliment, but I can't really see you under the mask."
Lissa paused, staring at her reflection in the water for a moment, before looking back up at the mare before her. "I'm sorry. What is your name?"
They way she looked at her. Lissa knew there was something she saw, too. Had they met in passing? Lissa inwardly shook her head. No, it couldn't be that. The feeling was too strong. And the flashes.. Gods, the flashes. Burning, screaming, fire. It took all her willpower to stop shuddering.

"Names thesh-ah not to worry i had my days of being pretty Alas they are long gone and trust me this mask is probably the best looking thing on me now. In fact before-" she paused for a moment with a sigh "all of this. Not that I regret any of these as they were all battles well fought." she gestured here and there too a few larger scars from a few of her greater battles. "I looked rather like you almost." she added turning her back to her new found companion. Slowly she started to rub her skull mask against the soapy sponge. It felt so good to get all the grime off. Suddenly at if struck she paused and turned back to her. No it couldn't be . . .she thought. "did you say. . . Vasilissa?"
((your goin to have to remind me what was the goal of this RP? Like what was the over all plot?))

"You must be very strong. And brave." Lissa frowned lightly. "I tried to learn how to fight. It didn't really end that well. I'm still trying. I need to know how to defend myself and those under my charge."
And there it was. Word vomit. Lissa wished she could take it back. Realistically, she knew nothing about this mare. And while she had been kind, she could be tricking her and Lissa had just revealed a weakness.
Lissa nodded in response to the question. "It's a bit of a mouthful. That's why most call me Lissa."
((Thesh-Ah was the one who rescued Lissa from her burning village. They got seperated and Lissa forgot her, too young to hold onto the memory.))

A few burn scars on her back and legs began to burn like the day she had gotten them. In that moment she was transported back in time, a tiny pink foal ran between her legs being shilded from the flames that licked around her, hot embers rained down from the trees against her back, and smoke rolled in as thick as fog. Most of the time, times before the mask were hard to remember as she tried mostly to block them out. Dark times indeed rage ruled her then . .But how could she have forgotten that tiny frightened pink foal. Seeing her now and knowing who she was, was one of the happiest moments of thesh-ahs adult life. In a way it validated every fight she had ever fought, every sacrifice ever made, every broken bone and scar ever obtained. Truthfully she started to tear up a little bit. The one bright thing from the past, came to find her at last. "Vasilissa. You have seen me without my mask but you were so young then I don't blame you." She said coming a bit closer her bright emerald green eyes showing the smile her lips could not.

"I.. I don't understand. Everyone I knew when I was young died in the fire. I don't remember you being any of them. I don't know you. Who are you?"
Lissa looked into the mare's eyes and watched the light dance in them, the sparkle of a smile. She had deemed Thesh to be a friend, not a foe, but this had made things difficult. Could she have been wrong? Did Thesh have a hand in the fire?
No, it couldn't be that, Lissa thought to herself. She's honestly happy to see me. She seems almost.. relieved.
"Please tell me what happened," she pleaded.

Comeing closer and Using one of her horns she bushed a stray lock of mane out of the way on the back of lissa's neck to reveal a bite mark . . . her bite mark to be exact. It would seem kindness could leave a mark as well as any cruelty. "i can't say I know exactly what happened. All I can really say is I saw fire and went to investigate. Amongst all the flames you were the only one I thought I could rescue. You were so tiny then I picked you up by the back of your neck and ran out to a safe place. I stayed with you for only a moment to make sure you were allright and then ran back to see of anyone else was left to be helped. I found no one it was . . .too late but . . .the smoke must have been to much after I got myself back out I fell unconscious myself. By the time I woke to come back to you . . .you were gone. I looked for you for I don't know how long but after awhile I gave up on you." she said tuning away in shame. "I shouldent have given up . . .I think I understand better than most what it's like to be alone." she added

"You saved my life. That's more than anyone could have done. I am who I am today because you took a chance." A small smile crossed Lissa's lips. "You didn't give up on me. You still remembered me. Deep down you were always looking."
Lissa could not believe it. All this time, she thought she had escaped on her own out of pure luck and really it was thanks to this mare. She owed her her life and everything.
Lissa's face hardened for a moment. "Did you see anyone else? Anyone who could've started the fire? Anything at all?"
((Future plot I want Lissa to confront the person who started it. You can say you remember something vague, like horns or wings or something. :3))

Thesh-ah beamed at the offered assurance that there were no hard feelings between them. "just by the look in your eyes I know that you would have taken the same risk as I did. I can't tell you how much good it has done this old heart of mine to see what a fine mare you've become." She noted the sudden seriousness that came with lissias question. In her bright eyes was pure determination perhaps even a certain thirst for vengeance that thesh-ah knew all to well. "if you take the time to listen to my story. The story of this accursed mask and the vengeance I harbored in my heart. Even if you only listen to it so I might just have a glimmer of hope that it speaks to you in some way . . . I will take the time to tell you what I saw that day."
((I think I will chose to tell her about the wings but can I get some more detail like color and weather they were huge or tattered? I wanna be able to give a fairly good defineing detail))
