"Hattie," A bright female voice spoke from the snow, calling to her a large female Meganium, who's neck was wrapped snugly in a yellow and black scarf.
the grass type's large feet crunched in the snow that lay softly upon the ground, leaning into a kind gesture as a gentle hand was removed from a pink glove and held out to the one called Hattie.
A blond girl, easily looking around the age of 16 sat kneeling in the snow in the slumbering winter forest just outside the city of Sandalwood.
in the dullness of the bear trees, the two forms stood out the brightest, the Meganium and her blooming neck flour, and her trainer, clad in winter gear of pink and white, rose cheeks from the cold, and bright blue eyes that looked upon her newest pokemon with love.
"Thats a good girl, your so beautiful" Rosie spoke again, reaching up to adjust the scarf around the Meganium's neck.
Sandalwood, when in the spring was a blooding and beautiful place to be. all sorts of colors bloomed from flowers, and the trees were thick with all different shaped leaves.
But in the winter, was a completely different story, everything was still, and quiet.

In a moment, snow would start to sprinkle off of the tree branches near Rosie and Hattie. The crunching of snow under large feet was soft at first but quickly grew louder as whatever large creature it was got closer and closer to the pair. Suddenly a large bush quivered, nearly all of the snow it had gathered fell off its branches, and then...
A large pale striped Meganium jumped out from behind it, the flower around her neck a deep pink. She thought she heard voices, and, oh! Another Meganium! "Niuu," she crooned happily as she bounded over, snow crunching under her heavy feet, moving faster than one would think she'd be able to. The large pokemon halted in front of the pair, cooing first at the other Meganium before craning her neck down to look more closely at the girl. Her front feet took turns raising and lowering in her excitement - she hardly ever got to meet other little girls, especially not with pokemon like her! Another croon of happiness escaped the giddy creature, her owner no where in sight yet.

The two looked up at the sound of someone approaching, they seemed to big for a human, maybe another pokemon?
"huh?" Rosie blinked, still holding Hattie's head in her hands.
They had been correct, when suddenly there was another Meganium was peering at them from the bush, looking as if she was growing from the thik branches.
Rosie couldn't help a gasp at the sight of the pokemon, The young trainer had a deep love for things of beauty, and that pokemon was beautiful!
Hattie had lifted her head up, head inclining softly before she to smiled happily "Niuu Niuu" she greeted in return, leaning her neck outward toward the other Meganium, pleased to see one of her own kind,
"Hello there" Rosie said as the pokemon came over, giggling when the large head moved down to inspect her.
"Where did you come from?" she asked sweetly, offering her glove-less hand out toward the new Meganium.

"Mriuuu," she cooed back at the other Meganium in her own 'hello' before nosing Rosie's hand eagerly. She loved pretty colors, and Rosie was covered in them! Well, two of them at any rate.
Presently the group would hear the sound of more crunching footsteps following awkwardly - they were lighter, obviously from a human due to the halting speech that floated above the crunching snow. "Lei! ...out of your pokeball for -- gah! For two seconds and you're already -- mmph -- running off somewhere, I don't even... ack!" Suddenly a brown-skinned young man fell through the large bush, landing with a loud fwump! "Phhbt -- where'd that bush come from?! When -- oh," he stopped, blinking when he noticed the group a couple yards away. "Hello there. Sorry, I was -- Lei!"
The accused crooned excitedly before bounding over to the young man who was struggling with the bush to get up, but then a thick neck was shoved across his chest and he clung to it with a surprised "gah!" while the Meganium quickly raised him up off the ground. He stumbled to his feet and let go, dusting the snow off himself before clearing his throat after making a complete and utter fool of himself. "Anyway, sorry about barging in - I guess you've met Leilani. You can call me Inigo," he said with a rather lop-sided grin. "I just let her out of her ball a minute ago and she bounded off. I was, uh, following her footsteps." Or jumping in them, rather, and not paying any attention to what obstacles she might have easily pushed through. Like that bush, for example. Oops.

Quite a bit happened at once, and it took Rosie by surprise, one second she was laughing and cuddling the new beautiful visitor, and the next, they heard talking and tumbling and more talking, and then someone just... FELL out of the bushes.
Rosie's blue eyes grew large as she stared at the man, blinking a couple of times, before the Maganius hurried over and helped him up.
It was then that she smiled, guessing that this must be her trainer.
Rosie couldn't help but giggle from where she was kneeling, lifting the tips of her fingers to her lips.
"Its nice to meet you Inigo" she replied, still through a small giggle, very much amused by this trainer. "My name is Rosie, and this is Hattie" she said, gesturing to her beloved Meganium, who gave a mellow coo in greeting.
"I hope you aren't hurt, thankfully the snow is pretty soft but you fell pretty hard."

Inigo dusted off a few more bits of snow from his puffy black jacket, then stooped to remove the snow from his dark jeans, then straightened up and fixed his striped black and gray scarf. While Rosie's attire was bright and colorful, Inigo's was dark and muted. He grinned at her with his usual lop-sided grin, chuckling at his expense. He did that quite often. "Rosie? Que lindo! How old are you?" She looked 13, but then again snow wear was typically the opposite of flattering. Any girl could wear a puffy coat and look 13. Almost. "But, nice to meet you Rosie, and nice to meet you too, Hattie, and Leilani is extremely pleased to meet you both, too, I'm sure. Es cierto, mi amor Lei?"
"Mriiuuuuuu!" Was the excited coo of a reply as the Meganium nuzzled into her shorter owner's shoulder.
Inigo chuckled and held her head, used to almost being knocked over. "Yep, she's very happy. It's not every day she meets a girl wearing her favorite colors that also has a Meganium. And nah," he moved onto her last statement, waving a gray gloved hand dismissively. "I fall out of trees all the time, bushes are no problem."

The snatches of words that Rosie didn't understand caused her eye arch her eyebrows in curiosity, a slight incline of her head, causing strong of bright blond hair to drape over her cheek as the bangs naturally curled in around her cheeks and chin.
"I'll be 17 in March" she explained when he asked how old she was, smiling when she said that. "Right when all the flowers will be blooming! I'm very excited"
She worked her way to her feet, brushing off some snow from her knees and folding her hands behind her.
"Pink and White are my favorite colors to!" she exclaimed in excitement, so pleased that the pokemon had such good taist!
"It was so nice getting to meet Lailani, I was taken by surprise, she's so beautiful!" the complement was genuine, the girl practically glowed with the idea of meeting such a beautiful Meganium.

Wait, she was almost 17? "Ah, es verdad?" No way! She didn't look it at all, but then again he normally saw younger girls who tried to look older than they were, so he brushed it off with a shrug and another grin. "Mi -- ah, my birthday is in september, I'll be 19." He couldn't help but chuckle at her enthusiasm for the flowers. "The early bloomers, eh? Those are always pretty, but my favorites are always, always the ones that bloom in may. No estás de acuerdo, Lei?"
Leilani heard 'flowers' 'bloom' and 'acuerdo' and suited her response accordingly. "Niuum!" She nuzzled her trainer's chest excitedly, and he chuckled. "Ah, you think she's beautiful? Oyes Lei? Tú estas muy bonita, ella dijo!"
Another happy croon escaped the Meganium before she bounded over to Rosie, gleefully nuzzling her head into the girl's neck and shoulder while Inigo chuckled again, shifting his weight to his other foot. "She's saying thank you, so I guess she likes what you said." He paused, seeming to realize something. "Ah, I'm sorry - I keep talking Spanish, I don't have anyone to talk to in Spanish so I got into the habit of saying it anyway, so I don't get rusty. Plus Leilani's gotten pretty used to it, too, I think she understands it as well as English."

Another incline of her head, paired with a curious look as he spoke even more words that she didn't understand. lips parting slightly about to ask him about it, when the new Maganium came over happily. Rosie couldn't help but return the affection, wrapping her arms around the pokemon's head in a loving hug, nuzzling her own cheek against Leilani.
"I'm glad, becasue I meant it" Rosie replied, with another smile.
Her eyes opened when he explained the reasoning for the different language that he spoke, and a look of understanding. "I was wondering what you were saying, its a beautiful sounding language" she replied. "Although I can't really understand what you are saying" she added with a small giggle.
Hattie smiled as well, amused with how the Meganium behaves so happily.

"Aha, sorry," he said with a sheepish grin, raising his hand to run his gloved fingers through his black hair. Man, he needed a haircut... "I keep forgetting not many people at all around here know how to speak it. My parents don't, but that's why I talk to them in Spanish all the time." Here he chuckled, shoving his hands into his coat pockets as he crunched over through the snow. "I was adopted so neither of them know a bit of Spanish. It's fun watching them get flustered about it and try to figure out what I'm saying, but they really have no idea. You'd think they'd buy a dictionary by now or something. Ah, but I'll try not to speak it since you don't know what things mean. I promise I'm not saying anything mean," he said with another chuckle. Nah, she was too cute to say anything mean to.
Leilani cooed happily again, once more taking turns lifting up each front leg before replacing it with a plop and repeating the process. Inigo chuckled. "She's always done that when she's really happy or excited, I don't know why."

Rosie shook her head, looking happy as he walked over to them. "I don't mind if you speak it" she replied, "I think its pretty, maybe you can even teach me a few words" she suggested,
Hearing that he was adopted was very interesting, She was happy for him, having a family, even if it was one you were adopted into was very important, she loved her own family very much.
When Leilani did her little dance, Rosie couldn't help a small squee of excitement, finding the behavior adorable.
"She dances! thats so amazing!" Rosie hopped along with the larger pokemon giggling happily before hugging her again.
"Dancing brings joy, I can understand why she does it~"
"You've had her for a very long time haven't you. are you a pokemon trainer?"

He chuckled at her enthusiasm. "Ah, si? Sure, I'd be happy to teach you a few words. I uh, I don't have any idea where to start," another lop-sided, sheepish grin, "so just tell me a word in English and I'll see if I can tell you that word in Spanish."
The pale Meganium crooned again, adding to her dance when she realized Rosie was doing it too, and she planted her front feet on the snow firmly before kicking out her back feet, and did that once or twice. Honestly just her front feet dancing was much easier. But all the same, she was ecstatic that this little girl was doing it too, and she leaned her large head down to nuzzle the top of Rosie's head. "Niuu~"
"A pokemon trainer? Ah, sort of," he admitted with a shrug. "I snuck out of my house when I was 10 and went to Makko, where I got mi amor bonita Leilani. I wanted to go on a pokemon journey but my parents wouldn't let me, they said school was too important. I'm a biology major at la universidad in Sandalwood, which is cool too. I get to do experiments on and work with all sorts of plants, and grass-type pokemon too," he explained with a grin.

Rosie listened to his story, feeling sad that he wasn't allowed to do pokemon training, but she knew what it was life to have responsibility's from your parents .
"Do you enjoy biology?" she asked, impressed to hear that he was a major in something that involved plants! it made scene why he had a grass pokemon.
"I only just became a pokemon trainer since my sister started a couple of years ago, so I decided to do it as well, its been fun!"

Since she didn't ask him to translate anything, he figured she'd ask him at some other time. Later perhaps. Still, he grinned. She was rather excitable, wasn't she? "Ah, of course! Well, if you want to get specific I'm majoring in botany, but that's like plant biology and stuff," he explained, not sure if she knew what the term meant. "I've loved plants and flowers ever since I was little, and my parents always said I had not one but two green thumbs. I have tons of potted plants all around my room, actually. Leilani likes to help me take care of them. Eh, no es cierto Lei? Si?"
The Meganium in question understood her name and then 'take care of' in regards to plants, and she nodded emphatically. "Meganiuu!"
"Ah, si? How long have you been on your journey?" He asked, a lop-sided grin still on his face. One might start to think it was almost a permanent feature. "I train Leilani sometimes - that's why she's a Meganium - but I've had her for 8 years so we had plenty of time for training. And because my parents didn't want me running off on a journey of my own, she's my only pokemon." That made it easier to focus on and train her, since he didn't have any others he could give her his undivided attention, care and love. It was obviously he had done so with much enthusiasm.

She nodded excitedly when he mentioned botany,
"Botany is fun, I took an elective one semester." she commented "In the house I lived in with my mommy I used to grow pink roses for the family."
It had been some time since she could grow roses again, she quite missed it, but pokemon training took up a lot of her time.
"I've been training for a little over a year now, Hattie here is the newest member of my team" Rosie said, reaching out to put and arm around the Meganium's neck.
"She's still getting the hang of training, but she's catching on quickly"
a small incline of her head, as he spoke more of those unknown words,
"What does 'mi amor bonita' mean?" she asked after a moment, curious.
becasue she didn't know the word, she said it with a horrible accent, and didn't pronounce it right at all.
