A girl never enjoys her life. Almost like she has her own little box that she won't step out of. The boy just wants to help her, but can't seem to talk to her. He shows his love by bullying her constantly. She just takes it in. It's nothing she doesn't get at home when her father is drunk every night as her and her mother cower in fear. Sometimes she isolates herself from crowds and tries to stay away from boys, whom seem to ask her out at least once a week. She hates it more than she hates that one boy . But the boy keeps trying to come out to her, but he's afraid of taking chances, too. Will these two learn to get along?

мarissa stepped out of her house and attempted to move her blueish brown hair from her face. It moved back into the same place and she sighed, pulling her navy blue jacket over the newly appearing bruise on her wrist. Her dad had gotten drunk again and lashed out at her and her mother. After adjusting her straps, she headed out down the block, head down and looking at her small feet towards school.

мarissa started up the steps of the school slowly, expecting a guy-any guy- to walk up to her at any moment. As if on cue, a boy with a cute face and blonde hair started to walk with her. "Marissa," he said, "Will you go out with me?" Her golden eyes stared at him, rolling her eyes. "Jimmy, you've asked me twice already. The answer is still the same" he looked back down. "I figured" then he walked away and she looked back down, nearing the front doors.

Dylan pushed past the boy,putting a hand on Marissa's shoulder,his intended words "I'm really sorry" but they came out more like "What's up,idiot?"

мarissa shrunk back in fear and gulped, fearing what would come next. "N-nothing. I-I was just..." she stuttered out before she felt a tear run down her cheek and she turned back to the cement, wiping away the tear and tugging on her jacket sleeve. There was no reason in even trying to talk, so she just stayed silent and sniffled from the cold.

мarissa nodded, following her feet as they got closer to the last step. A shiver running down her spine, she wondered what Dylan would do to her this time. Punch her. Kick her in the stomach. Shout insults at her in front of the school. What?
She shook her head to herself, not caring anymore. "Look, if you're going to throw me off of the roof, then do it already. Class is starting soon and I don't want to be late"

мarissa looked up at him suddenly and cocked her head, confused. What? she thought as she stood on the top step and watched him pass by. What!? she shook her head and lifted a small, cold finger to her forehead where he had thumped her delicate skin. Another bruise was forming and she sighed, not knowing how much of this she could take until she asked him what was wrong.
