BANNER SOON PROMISE?
And so the first tournament kicks off with somewhat pleasant weather to be had this gray morning! A small crowd of wolves has gathered a small distance away from your fight, some cheering on family, others booing or chanting for a particular wolf to lose concentration. Whether the combatants know each other or not, there is no doubt a certain air of tense energy in the arena today. The mid-morning chill might freeze toes, but for the combatants that will soon be a minor problem.

Kingdom Key wondered if Oathkeeper's fights were as interesting as the ones she watched over. "Nice to see you're sticking around," she greeted Rua with a big grin and a wink. "Got your daily evil to vanquish right here."
Of course the way she said it, the alphess could have been joking. She wasn't really against Winner, though she knew of his recent exploits and general behavior. It made her wonder if there was a connection with . . . Naaaaah. He wasn't nearly as horrible. Right?
((Combatants, make an entrance post with the wolves getting ready to fight and roll a 10 sided die at the same time!))

HA! This rainbow freak wouldn't know what hit him - it was really too bad that he wouldn't get the chance to lay into Hero..or even that numbskull Pumpkinhead...but Winner wasn't picky when it came it came to his conquests and this rainbow spattered girly looking wolf would do.
He pranced into the ring like he owned the place sweeping KK and everyone else who was watching with a smug and confident look as he went. He had this...completely, there was absolutely no doubt in hi mind that he would win..I mean his name was WINNER for moons sake..it was a given.

Rua was very excited. He had a huge grin on his face as he trotted boldly into the ring. "Why thank you Queen KK, I'll do my best." He says with a small bow. Then he turns to his opponent, a male he hadn't had the chance to meet yet. He bowed to him as well. "Good luck to you, sir." The rainbow maned wolf says formally.
He looked at him curiously, wondering why the Queen at called this other wolf 'evil'. Was he? Rua didn't get jokes very well. So he looked at him intensely, his slightly glowing eyes looking a little odd. He seemed cocky, but not necessarily evil. Hm.

Ah, it was nice to be called queen~ Although maybe Rua was just a liiiiittle too polite to everyone - hearts knew nobody wouldn't have given Winner the sort of respect the knightly rainbow male did. Ah well, maybe some believed there was still something in a wolf like Winner.
Good or bad, there's a fight to be had!
KK trotted to her place to watch over the battle and turned to them. "Right then: begin!"

Rua nodded to the Queen and crouched. He analyzed his opponent for a moment before he growled quietly. How best to attack? There was so many possibilities. "Have at you!" he barks suddenly and springs forward, delivering a fairly good bite to his shoulder before he jumps back and circles around. He wouldn't hurt him very much, but he didn't want to lose this fight.

Winner was absolutely livid - he was quite sure that KK with her little remarks and rainbow freak here with his pretend politeness had worked together to pull the wool over his head and trick him somehow.
Clearly that was the only way that this upstart could ever hope to have landed a hit on him. Fur bristling in anger over this perceived cheating Winner snarled viciously at the Rua and charged with murderous intent.

Ow! That hurt! Rua hadn't been paying close enough attention and he was sent tumbling backwards after he'd gotten a good blow from the other wolf. He quickly righted himself and let out a growl. He would not be shown up in front of the Queen by this odd fellow!
He lunged forward again, biting Winner hard in the shoulder before he backed off. A light trickle of blood was dripping from his temple and he felt a little dizzy but he was otherwise all right.

Winner still wasn't fighting with all his typical brains - he was far to enraged over the whole cheating thing to really it back and think before he charaged again - thankfully however he was thinking enough this time that he managed to spare himself most of the self damage his previous charge had cost him....it seemed as though Winner was fully motivated to really hurt the rainbow wolf if he could..and the dripping blood from the bites he'd received barely registered in his adrenaline spiked rage. Later they would likely hurt but for now they just added to his crazed demon look.

Rua growled when he was hit even harder by this charge. he stumbled back and grunted, shaking his head the whole while. The hit had addled his brains and while he lunged forward again his own clumsiness got the better of him. He tripped and was sent flying past Winner, not even giving him a passing graze. "Curses!" He yelps and gets up promptly again.

Winner took the opportunity Rua left him to get in a quick n** as the other wolf stumbled and flew past him...sure it wasn't the strongest attack ever but hey it was better then just letting him fly by unscathed right? He still wanted to tear him apart of course...and turned murderous eyes on the other wolf to make sure he knew it.

Rua grunted at the n** to his shoulder. He was getting tired now and he was beginning to pant. He heaved himself back to his paws, his own fangs bared in a challenge. Just because he was a polite gentlemen most of the time, didn't mean he couldn't hold his own in a fight. he caught his second wind and lunged at Winner, giving him a hard bite on the hind leg before he back off, his tongue lolling out.

This wasn't turning out to be nearly as easy as Winner had anticipated..but that was the other wolves fault, they had cheated early on - he was still convinced this was the case - sabotaging his chances to do well - the joke was on them however! despite their meddling Winner hadn't just rolled over and decided to loose, no he had fought his way back and shook off the other wolves bite only to spin about and launch himself at the other with the intention of delivering a flurry of sharp bites to the rainbow freaks back.

Rua snarled in anger at the barrage of bites. He thrashed and bucked beneath him, then managed to knock the other wolf back. He reared up and slammed his weight down on him hard, enough at least to knock the air breath out of the other wolf. He grunted and stayed on top of Winner, hoping to pin him and at least get the upper paw.

Winner snarled as he was shoved to the ground, quickly trying to twist around so that he could snap at his opposition but the angles were all wrong and all his snapping jaws hit were air. To say that the black wolf wasn't happy would be an understatement and the hateful look in his eyes would make it clear to even the dumbest of wolves that Rua had gained an enemy today. Winner might have lost this fight..but he certainly wasn't going to loose the war thank you very much.

Rua's fur bristled and his eyes shone brightly. His opponent was weakened, perhaps even beaten! He bared his fangs, the excitement for battle raging in them. He delivered one final, hard blow to his shoulder, but being careful not to break any bone or cause serious damage. That would be cruel.
"Do you concede?" He pants, but he already knew he'd won. Winner should have no more fight left in him. Rua had won by the skin of his teeth.
