Calder's punishment wasn't just a hindrance to himself, but to others. Just when they had their club approved and the swim team set their date for try-outs, he went and got himself banned from large bodies of water! Yaya was clearly not pleased, and had had more than a few words with him about the major headache he was becoming. Luckily for the team, Yaya took the role of Temp President while their current one….suffered. It took some juggling, but the try-outs were right back on track. The posters didn't need to be taken down or dates changed, and the pool was prepared. It took some work (much of which Calder had to send the leeches to do while he wanted further away from the bank), but the pool was ready for the first swim team try-outs.
As for Calder, he was sitting on the bleaches 5 feet from the water's edge. A large body of water, with the expectation of students jumping in. It was now that he noticed that it was probably a very good thing he had this restriction now and now, say, during swim team practice. He had been far too confident of his abilities to keep himself in check, and now he was sitting on the sidelines, looking at the water as if he was a man dying of thirst and he was before an oasis. It was like that for him at least. He had been making due with just dumping small pails of water on his head or running it under the facet and carrying a little misting bottle around with him to class. It still wasn't the same to being completely submersed water. He missed that. He missed that like it was his crack, and the signs of withdrawal were clearly evident in his eyes as he waited for students to come in to try out, twisting a dry towel in his hands as he fought off the jitters.
Swim Team Members: Calder - Swim Team President Yaya - Temporary President Marzena - Vice President (currently not attending)
Applying: Gabrian Raziel Yui Alcyone -- Open to All Even If Not Listed --
The swimming pool is set in the basement of the main building. Lockers are split with ghouls on one end and boils on the other. The water is only slightly clear, green in color, yet is fresh water for this exercise. It also seems to be filled with small, glowing orbs. Strange.

With Calder under certain.. "restrictions", and Marzena out sick, Yaya had taken it upon herself to make sure important things, such as the swim team, didn't get neglected. There had been a practice scheduled, and jack-damnit, they were not going to cancel it because their president was a bonehead. To his credit though, Calder had actually been rather helpful with the preparations, and Yaya hadn't had to do much more then show up.
Currently she was standing beside the poor kelpi boy with a towel slung over her shoulders. The team suit, a sporty little one piece, was black and orange and very clingy, and despite being school sanctioned, looked quite lovely on the demon ghoul. Her hair, which pooled at her feet when completely unbound, was pulled back in a tight french braid, the tail of which licked along her ankles when she moved. In her hands she had clip board with a tentative roster listing the names of known applicants, though there was room for more, should others turn up to try out.
Glancing down at the boil beside her she frowned, rolling her eyes in exasperation. "You look in pain. Would you like another pail of water? I can go and get you one." While she understood the punishment and the reason behind it, even agreeing with it, she couldn't help but feel sympathetic. If she were to ever be cut off from water she'd no doubt be suffering just as badly. And while she was still upset with him, he was still her friend. She cared for him, even if she often showed it in tough love.

He had been getting that deep, dark look of longing in his eyes as he stared at the deep end of the pool before he snapped to attention, looking up and noticing he was making a right mess of the towel he was strangling to death. He didn't stop though, and shook his head. "No. No. I'm fine. All good. Peachy keen. Right as rain." Oh …rain. He would have loved if it rained right now with nice, fat, puddles and the threat of flash flooding. That would have been SO nice right about now.
He gave a odd, nervous laugh and got up to pace a bit, feeling jittery. His tail, braided tight, whipped about, poking out from a pair of black swim trunks. His hooves clomped and echoed as he moved past. Like Yaya, he had braided his hair and moved it up, despite not needing to as he wasn't swimming. Since he wouldn't be jumping in the water, his swim cap was left on the bench – a vintage cap with a green, rubber lilly on the side. With his upper half exposed, it was seen he lacked much in the way of body hair, more streamlined and smooth, with pale skin and small marks dotting here and there from where his leeches took their meals. He also had a bite mark on his shoulder from where Chuppi bit him in the hallway a while ago and probably would never go away.
Rubbing his neck, he breathed out, looking at the water, and then moved back to sit on the bench. "Thank you for doing this. With Marzena sick and me being all……I don't think we could have done this." He didn't want to not have a swim team in this school. It meant a lot to him.

She would show up perhaps a bit too early for try-outs, walking on gladiator sandals with a one piece, rather skimpy looking black bathing suit. Her stomach, which usually showcased lean abs but had softened some, was a shade lighter than the rest of her body—which…would have seemed almost impossible had it not actually been glowing like a fluorescent light behind the fabric.
Like Yaya who threw her hair back and out of the way, Natalia’s was pulled tight, balled up in a bun and pressed against her neck. Stopping at the threshold of the basement and giving the room a once over, Natalia took a step forward and offered a wave to the students in the distance. Seated was Calder, she remembered the boil from Etiquette as well as the Truth or Dare game and had grown quite fond of his excitable ways, as far as class was concerned. And the other standing next to him…what was her name, Yaya? Yes, Calder had briefly mentioned something about the other ghoul in the same class. She couldn't tell if they were having a private conversation or not, but it didn't really matter. Natalia was headed for them indefinitely.
When the gap was closed, the werelemur took her towel and tucked it under an arm before crossing them. Her eyes scanned Calder's sullen face before sticking to the dark-skinned demon. She was prettier to look at... “Hey, Calder, Yaya.” Although it was probably too obvious to even mention, the ghoul followed up with a smirk and a “I’m here for the swim team tryouts?” before glancing over at the pool.
This was going to be oh so much fun…

Shortly after Natalia, Nyyrikki walked into the basement bare-foot and shirtless. His jeans rode low, revealing simple black jammers, and his lean, tan stomach was just barely visible underneath the orange towel that hung over his shoulder. His usual silver wire was missing from his hair, letting the long pieces fall into his eyes slightly. It seemed the only thing that was actually normal about his outfit today were the chains wrapped around his arm.
He'd seen the posters for the swim team while out running one morning, and had been more than interested. He needed more than just running to keep in shape- - after all, he was only a reaper and had to work for his fitness - and swim team would offer that. Not to mention it was a way to gain some more friends and acquaintances. One could never have too many.
"Tryouts, yeah?"

Gabrian wasn't entirely sure why he'd decided to show up in bathing trunks today. After all, he usually made sure to swim in his serpent form, seeing as how he found it much more manageable and swift when underwater. However, seeing as how he wasn't entirely sure how the rules worked, he figured it was better to be safe than sorry. Right? Right.
The first thing he noticed when he arrived on scene, towel slung over his shoulder (barefoot and shirtless as Nyyrikki), was that one of the club leaders appeared to be the lovely demon ghoul whom he's spotted in etiquette class. The other boil with her while mildly familiar... was not someone Gabrian knew. Whomever he was though, he looked rather miserable at the current moment, "So," he drawled out as he approached, "Try outs today then?" a pause as he looked at Yaya, "I was wondering, miss. Does the club discriminate against alternate forms? Are we allowed to use our other forms, or do we need to swim in this form?" at his words, he pointed at himself slightly, his serpent tail swishing behind him languidly, "While I can swim in both forms well enough, I find my other form to be much more comfortable for underwater purposes."
He turned to the side and suddenly spotted Natalia, his brows shooting up to hide under his fringe, "My, my, Natalia. And don't you look just dashing in that outfit? Surely you're just trying to distract everyone from the task at hand by wearing it, aren't you? That's hardly fair, my dear. Tsk!" He'd not spent all that much time with the were-lemur, but he had a soft spot for her already. Not only was she laid back enough to be able to take a joke at her own expense, but she had great taste in outfits, even if they were a bit distracting at times, "I had no idea you were interested in the try outs."
He turned offer Nyyrikki a nod, "I don't think I've ever met you, one on one," he told the other boil, "My name is Gabrian," he eyed the pool, "Tryouts indeed."

Without official uniforms given out as of yet to those applying, everyone was free to wear what they wanted, and Natalia made use of that. Using swinging hips and rolling curves, she moved in with an eased look, glancing about the place before coming over. Calder was relived only because someone had actually come, breaking up his attention from otherwise staring with large, sad eyes at the water. And she was a distraction. He was wondering just how she was fitting in that bathing suit at all, and while familiar with much in the way of swim suits (kelpies never needed them – it was all na-tur-al), he found the girls seemed to get away with just the minimum. Hmm. He wondered if she would be put off by the simple one piece of the official uniforms.
Smiling, he looked up at her and watched her eyes wander away to Yaya. Ghouls. He didn't get them. And still more came, and soon the small trickle of students started to come in. One boy was not even dressed in any sort of swim suit but just simple jeans, while another came in with just trunks. While he didn't know them, he was happy that they would hopefully make up the swim team to come. Everyone was welcome and they needed members. As for the question, which wasn't directed at him, he piped up to answer Gabe. "Actually, most of the competition is in humanoid form. There are free-form races that allow for alternate forms, but for the most part, most of the races and other forms of competition are kept in a humanoid form as to prevent as much size equality as possible. Uh…or that's what the book says." He was new to being in a swim team and a swim team leader, and he had tried reading as much of the official book of swim team rules and regulations. It was just a lot to take in.
As for the three of them, Calder smiled as best he could and rose up. "Yes, this is for swim team tryouts. We're just waiting to see if there will be some late comers and then we can begin. I'm Calder, the president, but because of certain restrictions, I won't be swimming you all of you for now. Yaya is taking my place as President. I hope you can all swim because I'm not going to be jumping in the water to save you." He'd be the last person to do that for two reasons. The pin on his head and his own tendency to keep people under water than above it – at least for now.

Calder wasn't the only one to take notice to Natalia and how little she was wearing, and how nicely she looked in the little she was wearing. Lips pursed in soft appreciation, the water djinn's head tipped to one side as Mediterranean blues admired what there was to admire. The lemur was a pretty ghoul, and relationship or no, Yaya had an appreciation for pretty things. "Natalia, right?" She too was happy to see people were showing up, and she grinned at the other ghoul, giving the towel on her shoulder a little tug. "That's right. I didn't know you liked to swim." Among so many other unknowns. She'd only briefly met the ghoul, and their interactions had been very limited.
Bending down to the side, the demon ghoul gave the Kelpi a small half hug around the shoulders. "It's my pleasure to help." And it was. She wanted swim team to happen just as much as much as Calder did. Straightening, she gave him a pat on arm before moving down the bleachers towards the tile that surrounded the pool and ghoul that stood there, though even as she moved two more people filtered into the area. She knew both, at least on sight. One had been at Truth or Dare, the other she shared classes with. Only one name came to mind though.
She offered her hand to Nyyrikki first, since he was the one she didn't know by name. "I'm Hadiyya." Then to both of them. "Yes, try outs indeed." She had a feeling she'd be seeing the nix today, and was pleased to see she'd been right. Of course he too was worth an appreciative glance or two.
His question caught her a little off guard though, not that it was so very unusual, many of the students at the school had alternate forms, but she wasn't entirely certain o the answer. She'd read the book as well, or rapidly scanned it, but couldn't recall exactly what it had said on the matter of true forms. Frowning softly, she looked up at Calder. Thankfully, he knew the answer, and then some.
She gave him a look that said clearer then words that she knew exactly why he wouldn't be pulling anyone out of the water, and that he had better behave himself. She then rolled her eyes and turned a smile to the other three. "He may not be inclined to fish you out if need be, but I certainly well. I Do hope that isn't necessary though." She figured it was safe to assume they all knew how to swim, or they wouldn't be here.

A bit late, but nonetheless here, Raziel slowly walked down the staircase towards the pool in the basement of the gym. He liked swimming well enough, though not usually with other people. Oh well, he sighed to himself, he had to be part of some clubs. Upon reaching the threshold of the pool area, Raziel paused for only a moment, eying the contents of the room. His eye passed over each ghoul and boil in the room, when he saw the Kelpi standing there, somewhat miserable, a devious smirk set across his face.
With his orange towel hanging around his neck, Raziel walked towards the others. He was wearing swim trunks, which were sagging just a bit as they had a hard time keeping on his hips over his swim jammers. Once at the group, Raziel looked up and around at everyone, and said just one thing with a difficult to contain grin on his face.
"So, tryouts today?"

Calder was looking forward to the new recruits.
Then he spotted Raziel, and his eyes popped as his ears flicked up at attention.
Calder had been looking forward to the new recruits.
If Yaya had been wondering to keep an eye on him to ensure that the kelpie wouldn't drown anyone, now was the best time. A surprised look passed over him at the very sight of the other monster. A monster he thought he would – no, WISHED – he would never see again. Not with his short hair with choppy bangs, or that ever pleased smirk when Calder well knew what shy little looks he could give. Not even that exposed stomach that he had well seen and knew its texture.
When shock passed over, the cloud of smoldering bitterness passed over him and his eyes darkened to deep, swampy pools of near black, and his ears pressed down. If Raziel was one to play about as if nothing was strange, it wasn't a method Calder was taking. Not when he leaned to having his emotions right there on his shoulder. It was now that he thought he wanted to take Yaya aside for a little chat about declining applicants, but Raziel approached before he could grab the ghoul's arm and caused the kelpie to sit in place, eyes narrow and looking up.
Damn that smile, and damn him for even being here – He didn't even know the monster went to this school! The ONE school Calder ever attended, and HE had to be here.
He didn't say anything at first when the boy came up, only trying to kill him with his glare and wondering if there was any way he could find a vat of acid on such short notice. Then, shortly, with venom, he grumbled a, "Yeah….tryouts." before tapping a hoof, fighting the urge to flick his leg up and hit the other boil between the legs.

(( thought I'd link her cert as I've only started rp'ing her again recently XD)) Arachne wasn't entirely sure why she was here, her pale feet padding on the cold tiles, only that there still were no classes she could sign up for, and to be frank she was bored.. She was clad in a plain black one piece swimsuit, plain except for a spider webbing motif picked out in white on her hip. She clutched at the towel in her hands as if it was a barrier, or security blanket, walking even more stiffly now as she approached the others who were trying out, and she guessed on of them had to be in charge.
She could swim, and fairly well, her body was deceptively slight looking and as a rule she tended to shy away from physical activity - well the type that made you sweat too much and get dirty, but swimming was an exception. Although she'd not swam in company before, nor tried out for a swim team but it was better than staring at her dorm walls, or attempting to coerce the future into giving her a sign that she could actually decipher.
Arachne stopped, the seer pausing a little way from the group and tugged at the ends of her red hair, quietly appraising each boil and ghoul.

Natalia was very pleased with the compliments she had been given, letting her long legs twist in on one another for a provocative rub down while a free hand toyed playfully with her tied hair. At first the orange lemur gaze fell steadily on the new arrival, Nyyrikki; his physic a sight for sore eyes…as far as boils were concerned. But before she spoke to him, her lips parted to acknowledge Yaya. “Yes, it is Natalia. Great memory!” With a wink, the werelemurs thoughts submerged into dark and dirty crevices, soaking in the demons swimming attire down to her long brown hair. Damn…even in a solid, not all that revealing one piece, a ghoul could look drop dead gorgeous.
Natalia prided herself in abiding by no limitation as far as the gender or race of any individual went, offering her attention to whomever proved to suit her fancy. However, it had become increasingly obvious that the ghouls at Amityville were far more appealing than the boils, or at least that had been the case until today. Giving the reaper boil a long, hard look, Natalia took one step toward him and flicked a finger out against his orange towel, attempting to move it aside. “Why not put your stuff down and stay a while.” A smirk peeled her pale lips back, showing a tidy array of pearly whites accented by two canines.
Then Natalia’s attention was swallowed up by Gabrian, again letting her searing gaze scan the contours of yet another ravishing, bare frame. In an instant her guard was up, but playfully so, and with a lifted brow the ghoul responded. “What? This old thing?” Arching her back and turning slightly, so her back twisted and exposed her long tail and rump to the growing crowd, Natalia pursed her lips and shrugged before settling into her original position. “Huh, I guess you're right. You have caught me red handed.” Following this, the monster raised both of her brows trying to look genuinely shocked, registering what Yaya had mentioned and what Gabrian just said. “Really? I didn’t seem the type to like swimming? That is odd…” Giving the students around them a generous once over, the ghoul chuckled. “I suppose you guys just don’t know me well enough yet.”
As two more students found their way into the pool hall, Natalia bent forward and backward, trying to catch a glimpse of what each had to offer. Neither of the students looked familiar, they were also not necessarily her types but…the seer, looking shy and off to the corner of the gathering, caught her attention regardless. Taking two long steps toward her, the werelemur smiled and tapped a white finger against her shoulder. “Hello there miss! You don't look too happy to be here; come on! Loosen up!”

Arachne had seen the ghoul's little display as she had approached the small crowd at the pool's edge and she raised one brow at her as she spoke.
'Forgive me if I don't wiggle my posterior at all to..admire, but I am quite content being here.'
Though despite her reaction to the long tailed ghoul, she had to admire that she could be outgoing, it wasn't something Arachne did nor was good at. She showed off with her mind and natural abilities, neither of which were, she was sure, particularly 'sexy'. She scanned the others again, feeling a slight dizzy sensation, as though she were tuning into a scattering of futures at once but nothing was more than headache forming blurriness and she gave her head a shake before turning once more to the ghoul.
'Excuse me, I am out of sorts.' she said, realising that she'd just apologised to a monster, but as she wanted to get into the club, she decided against making waves (no pun intended).

Wow! She was only trying to be nice; want to talk about causing waves? Natalia would not be opposed to starting up a tsunami in this bi--...All of a sudden her face lost it's blissful luster, eyelids drooping somewhat to slit her gaze. "Well that is very apparent." Natalia lashed back bluntly after a moment passed, having, also, rolled her eyes in regards to the comment made and, furthermore, disregarded the apology completely. Haters. Can't live with them...and, well that’s about it. She took the other ghouls words a bit too personally, perhaps, especially when the seer knew not what tender spots she touched upon but either way the werelemur was not pleased with the response she received and would let it be known here and now.
Sort of.
"I don't recall saying 'loosening up' meant to 'shake your a**', but if you're content with standing here as if we are all going to look over and see a huge spider instead of two boobs on your chest, which would explain you hiding behind your towel, then by all means stand and be content." A frown formed on her pale lips before she readjusted her shoulders and back into a straighter position. Her eyes traced the seer's bodily terrain and a sigh rasped from her throat, at which point Natalia raised her hand and rubbed at her neck gently. "It's quite alright...really...This is about swimming and having fun with others while doing so, no need to get so snippy when someone approaches you kindly. Let's try and keep it that way." A shrug of her shoulders should have let the other ghoul know that Natalia’s intentions, however promiscuous or haughty they may seem, were in the name of ‘fun’. Whether or not the seer read it that way was another story.

"Ah," the nix nodded to Calder, taking special interest in how oddly the boil seemed to be behaving; he knew very little about him, but when he'd seen him in etiquette class, he hadn't been quite this... strange. The again, he had no idea what 'restrictions' they even seemed to be hinting at, "Well, that makes sense. A pity though seeing as how I'm more flexible in that form," he arched a brow as the boil mentioned something about not being able to jump in to rescue them and he found himself smirking slightly; see, it was here where Gabrian knew he was at an advantage; why couldn't the Christmas raid fights have been near, or under water? He'd have done so much better! "I can breathe under water, myself. I won't need assistance in that sector. If it's in my power, I'll help anyone struggling."
His need to 'drown' things wasn't nearly as strong as the Kelpie's. Not by a long shot. It was merely the preferred method of hunting; not an actual lifestyle, and as such, it didn't dictate how he behaved near water. His gaze shifted towards Yaya, and it soon enough became apparent to him that she was, in fact, checking him out. In fact, she seemed to be checking out the Reaper boy too, and for some reason, the nix found this endlessly amusing. Instead of drawing attention to the fact, he moved towards the benches and placed his towel there, "Right, so these are try out. What, exactly, are we expected to do then?" he asked as he drew nearer once more, "How is this going to play out?"
It was right about then that Raziel showed up, and it was only due to tthe fact he was so close to the Kelpie that he noticed his reaction; he had no idea what it meant, but it did make me arch a brow in silent question. It lasted only a moment before Arachne herself showed up; Gabrian remembered her from that day in the demon common room, and he offered her a small smile. The way she clutched at her towel and stood a way away from them though, almost made him want to offer her a hand and guide her; the poor ghoul looked terrified, in a way. sure, she wasn't showing it on her face, but he knew a mask when he saw one.
Before he could do so much as acknowledge the spider ghoul though, Natalia was addressing him personally and... well, let's just say that despite his best efforts, he was still only a demon, and only a boil; his eyes strayed to her and he found himself for a brief moment at a loss for words. By the time the were-lemur had straightened up, he'd brought a fisted hand to cover his mouth and cough slightly, "Red handed indeed; that's hardly fair, my dear," he smiled slightly as he lowered his hand and then.. of course, Arachne added her own thoughts. He instantly noticed the change within the were-lemur.
The fact Natalia had been afflicted so much as to snap at the demoness was interesting, to say the least, seeing as how he felt he'd pushed her much, much worse during etiquette class. He paused for a moment, and it only after the were-lemur had finished talking that he finally moved, walking over to place a hand on her head for a second, almost as if hoping the gesture would calm her (after all, it worked with LW - where all weres similar in that sense...?), "Well, let's all get acquainted with the water, shall we? I'm quite sure it will cool us all down," giving the were another pat, he lowered his hand and turned to look at Yaya.
