Mananakbo "Lady Nyoka," Mana said in an undertone. "There was a matter I wanted to bring up." It wasn't something he thought she would like very much, but he needed, really needed to get out of the pride's lands for a while. And so he was going to ask her if it would be all right for him to take a day or two and see if there were any likely-looking folks he could capture and bring back as slaves. The pride was growing and could use some slave labor to help things go more smoothly. And, of course, he could use the excuse to get out and stretch his legs. The thing was, he could think of a number of reasons why Nyoka wouldn't want to let him go. Like the fact that he'd ended up with cubs the last time he did that. Nyoka It was around the time that Nyoka had finally given cubs. The royal litter and she had been sick all through the birthing process and even after. So leaving the den was NOT in her best interest for the moment. Now her cubs were taking a bath with the nanny in their private spring.. To give her time alone and think. It had been a while since she saw her henchman since the birthing. Finally able to take a breather and slightly looking a lot better than she had the couples of days. The familiar ring of voice to which she often went to for pride matters made her smile softly. After the cubs, it seemed Nyoka was more lienienat than usual. So she nodded for him to come in. "If it is bad news, then can it wait~ but if its good please step forward." Her voice was very soft.

Mananakbo Mana grinned to himself. "Actually, it's not news, bad or good, so I'm not sure whether I ought to step forward or go away, except that I do need to ask you something, so perhaps I'll just stand here and ask." He was feeling lighthearted at just the thought of getting out and about, and it showed in his sense of humor coming through. He didn't often joke around with Nyoka, since she was his superior and he was used to simply being servile. That was the way of the Mizimu, anyway. His former pride had been on his mind lately, and he needed to get out also to force himself to face that particular source of discomfort. Nyoka A smile creased upon the tired cheetah's face. "And this? Is new then." Raising her paw and allowing him to step forward in her body language. "I just don't want to hear anything bad as of yet- I am already getting anxious to go back and govern this pride." She said lighthearted like- very much joking in the matter but she was slightly serious in her words. "What brings you to speak with me today.. please.. make yourself comfortable. A talk may help me along." Nodding and placing her ears back as she inhaled englantly as she exhaled to bring about some sort of relaxation.

Mananakbo "All right, Lady," Mana said as he stepped inside. "As you wish." He settled himself deliberately in a lower position than hers. It was comfortable to be off his feet, but it wasn't what he wanted. He wanted to be out and about, and to re-prove to himself that his past held no sway over him anymore. Things had changed for him. "I wanted to ask if I could go out for a day or two to see if I can find any slaves to bring back. We could use some more, I think." He almost promised not to come back with any cubs, but he didn't think the joke would go over well. Nyoka "Out and about?" Her voice was soft and tender, as a mother almost saying goodbye to her cub in a way. She snuggled in to her little patch of what looked like fur, and it was from a Merchant's earnnings from the day. She analyzed slight, like a glace of what he was saying and absorbed it. He was asking to leave her. Which gave her a mix matched feelings about it. Grabbing his eyes as she looked at him again. "Slaves. Do we need them as badly? I mad brought in a juvnile lionness.. but maybe even then." SHe rumbled the words in her mouth and gave a nod. "Your right about that then. A hybrid, a adult lionness, and one juvinile does seem like a stretch." Then she sighed. "Alright but now I have something to tell you." Her voice was reassuring about the ordeal. "I have kept an eye out for you and your cubs. Have I not?" Looking away slightly at the cave's enterance. "We are now getting even stricter about members leaving the pride.. it will be for the best that you are not just an ordinary member. Like the Geisha and currency fighters. You would need special access to get in and out. " Then looked to him. EYes straight in to his as though giving him a hint of her notion.

Mananakbo Mana listened and watched, doing his best to read her body language and guess what answer she would give so that he could be prepared to present an argument if need be. Thanking her would come easily enough, but disagreeing always had to be carefully couched. When her eyes sought his he met them. She placed great store in eye contact, and he wanted reassure her. It seemed his efforts had been successful, as she seemed to agree that they had an insufficiency of slaves. "Yes, Lady?" he asked, prompting her and then fallingn silent while she explained things he already knew, about the restrictions placed on who may come and go from the pride. It was part of why he had asked her before setting out. "Of course." He waited some more. Nyoka "Then you understand I can not let you come and go as you please with your current rank. Just a mere high grunt that is also the rank of another less valued member and I care way too highly of you and your blood to let you be killed because you left the grounds without permission." As it was said to be done when someone was caught on the outskirts. Black Bugie was exteremely keen on the duty and killed without remorse for the most part. She had been aware. Then a softness came over her and her new smile came about with a hint of a smirk to add. "Since you have earned such good graces and have been with me since the beginning. I shall make a new rank that you may hold.. and only your line may hold. " Eyeing him. "The rank of my Right Hand. Nanashi is able to obtain one as well.. but you- I see promise.. and to allow you to go in and out as you please. Since you seemed to have created spawn that isn't worthless. If you had done such a thing I would have expelled the rank from my mind." She relaxed again from tightening up only when pridal thoughts went in to her head. Since she wasn't around and about the pride was under serious constraints. No one left without her knowing. She made sure of that.

Mananakbo "I do understand that, Lady," Mana replied. He didn't know where all this was leading, but if he had to take a guess, he would have said that it was leading up to an answer of No, you can't go out. He also found it very hard to believe that he would be killed for anything he did. Most people in the pride had grown used to him coming and going as he chose. He had also gotten very good at intimidating people, even those of higher ranks than his. The only one who really worried him was Bugie, and only when he was in one of his odd moods. Mana tried to avoid the leopard in general, though so it wasn't likely to be a problem. Nyoka's next words came as a surprise to Mana. An inheritable position, created especially for him and his offspring. He had really not expected that sort of honor. He even managed not to take offense at his cubs being described as not worthless. She may have meant it as a compliment, but it was kind of a backhanded compliment. "Thank you, Lady. I'm honored. Just to be sure: that does mean I can go out, right?" Nyoka When he listened to her. It was a slight feeling that she would have to let him go. But she knew with this new rank- it would leave no room now for him to just leave. Especially when something so high was entrusted to him. "I'll get to that part." She leaned her head down slightly upon her paw for some rest. "All your offspring are required to follow your footsteps. No matter the generation gap and you will be able to now leave and come as you please." She spoke with a rather coy sort of attitude as she rose her head up. To now look as his laid body. Then to his face ears flat. "Right hand. Higher than that of a high grunt or council.. a rank that isn't like any other.. and I hope you will treat it as treasured as you are to me." Nodding and hoping that he was taking her seriously. "And-.... now a simple question. What has you so wet pawed and anxious." This only because she was observing him highly.. now that she was carrying.. she was more aware and had 'feelings'. Nothing like a seer- maybe a more maturnal instinct.

Mananakbo Spirits. Mana didn't often wish for his time with Nyoka to come to an end, but he was so close to his desired outlet all he wanted was to just take off at a run into the rogue lands and have a day to himself, free from responsibility. And he had just acquired more responsibility. He didn't know what else there was to be said, though he did feel a pang of sympathy for his cubs. His new position meant that they would have no choice about their futures. Was it really fair for him to bind his descendants for...how long? "I won't disappoint you, Lady. And as for your question, there's nothing, really. I'm a runner, a scout by birth and breeding. I just need to stretch my legs. I thought I might make my excursion useful by bringing back a slave or two." Nyoka "Then you are free to go." She smiled, nodding her head. "I know you won't." Before her paw went to a weak 'move it' sort of motion to him.. Seeing that he was dying to leave and sometimes she too needed that time alone in the roguelands. Not anyone could acquire that in the pride. Only thoughs whom walked the line were able to go and come from the pride, its location so secret that it would be travesty to know it. If she felt better, she too would have gone to the roguelands to heal.. "One more thing...." She added as he signaled to leave. "Be... careful..." Ears planted as she said it then looked away. As it was her duty to care for her pride, she apperciated and with that small ounce, tried to show it. She DID care, contrary to her reputation as the Boss Lady that others gave of her. Who would know her best was Mana, and that she knew. So, she would always like her children to be served like she was and with his breeding. It was only proper to appoint it to his bloodlines to come..
