Riley had spent most of the morning in a very enjoyable walk with Malodore and Luce, but her legs were itching for the kind of run than made her thigh muscles burn in pain. Therefore, it was much later in the day that Riley decided to take yet another run across the campus, at breakneck speeds. Her skin glistened with a healthy sheen of sweat, and nothing managed to block her path well enough to slow her. She hurdled over any stray pets or students on the lawn, ducked any low branches with ease, and maintained a steady rate that made her look like a swath of purple was being painted across the lawn as she ran.
Needless to say.. it would be a bad idea to get in her way right about now.

Aksaja was merely wandering along through campus at the moment, finally having finished his classes for the day. He'd killed some time earlier talking to Jericho but then got kinda restless again and decided to go walk around. Sure, he could have been flying, but like that it was a bit hard to meet other people.
What he didn't at all realize, lost in his own thoughts, was that there was one Mindflayer heading directly for him . . . most likely about to run him over.

Hard to meet people? Aksaja was about to meet Riley in a crash collision - something bright shined in Riley's eye just as Aksaja crossed her path, and her hand came up to shield her eyes. In a tangled mess of limbs and tentacles, she barrelled arms-first into Aksaja and took him down a few feet away. Her body, which had been caught in movement, wanted to remain in movement - and so the two fell to the ground, rolling together for several feet. When they finally stopped, Riley let out a monstrous roar, trying with all of her might to pull her tentacles out - which Aksaja was of course, laying plainly on as they had wrapped around him in the tumble.
Getoffgetoffgetoffpleasegetoff! She screamed, tugging her head and then lunging it forward again when the tug caused her further pain.

Aksaja made a startled sort of yelping noise with something slammed into him from the side, not even sure what the Jacking hell was going on for a moment. Then they were rolling . . . and next a familiar 'voice' was screaming in his head. Oh great. He winced and attempted to untangle himself from those tentacles - likely just making it worse.
"Ow hey quit it, I'm TRYING here!" he protested, feeling rather like he wanted to put hands over his ears - though he knew that wouldn't help with a mental voice.

As much as Riley would have handled the situation in a different manner normally, she was in extreme stress at the moment. Her tentacles had tangled in the most terrible ways, and pulling away was not working to retrieve them. Finally, she had to reach around and virtually untie the blasted things, before finally falling back in a thump. Her tentacles wiggled spastically, clearly upset with what they had just endured. They also looked far pinker than usual - and they stung. Hard.
Riley reached up and tried soothing one of the many hurt tentacles with a rub, but it slid right out of her grasp, and she winced. They did NOT want to be touched.
Finally, she looked up to see what idiot had just put her through all of this, and blinked.
Aksaja?! She murmured incredulously. What.. why.. why weren't you watching where you were going??

Aksaja - finally untangled - just sat up and gave the tentacled ghoul a sort of look. "Me? You were the one charging through here and knocking people over!" he grumbled, rubbing the back of his head a bit. He was lucky his wings didn't get sprained or broken or something, rolling like that.
"Where're you going in such a hurry? Late for class or somethin'?" Though he didn't think there were any classes at this time . . .

Riley tried, with as little touching as possible, to pull her writhing tentacles back behind her. I was running, it's meant to be fast. She hissed out, before finally pushing herself up. And for your information, I've run this path four times today, and I have not run anyone over. It seems everyone else is better at watching their step than you. She put two fingers to the back of her neck, and felt her pulse. Ugh. My pulse is slowing already. She sighed in defeat, slumping slightly. I suppose today's run is over.
She brushed her hand across her face to wipe the sweat away, and rolled her neck, before eyeing him critically. So.. where were you headed?

Okay well duh, he already knew that she'd been running, that much was obvious. Still, why . . . run? Just for fun? Didn't seem like all that much fun to him. Now flying? Maybe.
"I was heading back to my room, actually. Done with class for the day and tired of walkin' around with nothing much else to do." He shrugged slightly. Then he tilted head a bit and eyed the Mindflayer. "I gotta ask, what's the point of the running? Exactly."

Riley seemed slightly confused by the question. She wouldn't have thought Aksaja didn't understand how good it felt to run. Really? She asked, a soft undertone of surprise coloring her voice. Have you never went on a run, for the fun of it? It stimulates the adrenaline in your body, which fills you with an exhilirating pleasure. I can't imagine why people don't run all the time. Just lazy, I suppose.
She reached out and picked up his hand, very plainly placing it right on her very hard stomach muscles. Plus. There's that.

Aksaja's eyes widened just slightly at the feel of those muscles. Well, he supposed that was, indeed, a nice fringe benefit. But really, he was in fairly good shape himself. Raising a brow at Riley, he spread wings a bit. "Question for you. Why run, when you could fly?"

Counter question. She shot back. Can I fly? Her voice had an edge of teasing to it, as she let his hand go. Besides, I don't know from personal experience, but I'm fairly confident that the adrenaline rush you may obtain from flying is similar to running. So, in essence, if you enjoy flying, you can understand why I enjoy running. Or any of the activities I do to get my blood flowing. Though, I'd think it gets a little cold up there sometimes. Down here, it's nice and warm. Her sweat-glistened body confirmed her fact.

Aksaja blinked, then actually laughed softly at that. "Okay okay, you've got a point, I guess," he murmured, folding wings closed again. Getting back up to his feet, finally, the lightning dragon held a hand down toward Riley. "It's not that cold, though . . . well, it was in that Christmas place, but not here." He shuddered slightly at mention of that horrible place, remembering all the times he'd nearly died.

I don't know, she shrugged, and then took his hand to pull herself up. With no real personal boundary issues, she stood only a few inches away and put her hands on her hips. I disagree, she responded. I've been up there, with Jericho. And the wind makes it cold. At least, for me. I'd much rather be down here, working up a sweat. She backed away, and bent down to stretch, touching her toes.
That reminds me, she continued, even though she was no longer looking at him. Have you joined any clubs yet? She stood up straight, and gave him a quick once over. You look like you're in shape. You should join my club. We're going to do a lot of fun stuff.

Uh oh. This was kinda dangerous ground. Aksaja had, in fact, not joined any clubs, though he knew they were required. He'd come up with a brilliant idea for one to START, but not many people had signed up yet, so it wasn't . . . official.
"And . . . what club would that be?" he asked carefully.

Riley quirked a brow, before chuckling out the answer she thought should have been obvious. Fitness club. Goal's to stay active, you know? Sports, exercise, outdoorsy stuff, you name it. We're going to have a paintball match against the nap club pretty soon, when we're officially settled in. I think you'd enjoy it.
