Giving herself time to unwind and stretch out tense muscles, Tribalwind looked at her kill in the corner of her home. After scouting the area of Peke'Na for other possible ways the pack could expanded, area wise, Tri decided a little dinner was in order. Cleaning the blood from her paws and debating to gut the rabbit first or set up her resting area for the night. A low grumbling was heard in the silence of the den. " Dinner it is then." Laughing a little at her stomach.
Moments later, dinner was gutted and aten leisurely. It was times like this that Tribalwind had someone to share her nights and her food with. It got silence to often and there was only so much a girl could do by herself before she got lonely or in some cases crazy. Like her poor Aunt Tilly, poor dear.

Perhaps luckily for Tribalwind, and perhaps not, she wasn't about to be alone for long. The sound of someone pacing by the den's entrance echoed in the tunnels, and a moment later a very white and very distracted looking dog staggered in. Staggered not because he was ill, or hurt, but merely because he seemed so lost in thought as to trip over every exposed root and small stone in his path. Taking no notice of the female, he slipped right past her, to the back of the den, where he promptly lay down and shut his eyes with a tired sigh. Distantthinker was well known to the older members of the pack by now; from birth he'd always seemed aloof, paying little attention to the world around him, and more focused on his own thoughts and distant ideas. He was clumsy, often tripping or bumping others, but harmless enough. That he'd been gifted with a veritable green paw for plants only stood to confound those closest to him. His duties were never shirked, but he just never seemed to be paying attention to what he was doing--how could every plant he touched thrive? Thanks to his duty, Distantthinker had taken to occasionally being awake in the day, unlike his packmates. Plants grew best in the sun, and...well lets be honest. Most often it was not a conscious choice to go to bed in the day, he simply got caught up thinking and forgot to. That'd been what happened the earlier day, and now the white male was exhausted. Combined with his inattentiveness...it wasn't surprising that he'd wandered into the wrong den. Only after several long moments did one of his eyes wink open again and lazily drift over to Tribalwind. "....."

She had finished off her meal for sometime now and was enjoying the peace of the morning. A sound caught her ear and she was about to look to her left when something appeared. Startled from her thoughts, a white male wild dog cut across her path. She blinked and stared, ' Oh, what a handsome fellow. Such a beautiful white coat he has.' She continued to watch him stagger around, before he finally plopped himself down on the ground a few feet ahead of where she lay. Smiling she took in his appearance, he looked a little tired as well. " You look a bit distracted are you alright there?" She tilted her head while she asked her question, adding a little waggle of her tail to come off as friendly.
Her pink eyes met his pink as she waited for him to respond to her. This was the first time she had met a male Peke'Na member, most she came in contact with where females. She was a bit curious to see how he would act towards her or what he might do.

The lady's words went in one ear and out the other it seemed, as DT just kept laying there with a half-glazed look of pure inattention. A long moment after her question he finally blinked, and then seemed to finally see her smiling at him. "......Why are you in my den...?" He finally asked, tilting his head slowly to one side and raising it an inch or two off his paws.
He'd been so tired, and so caught up in his own thoughts that he'd neglected to mind where he was going. As far as he knew, this was his den. Why was there someone else here? Hmm...
Of course, it wasn't his den, and after a little more thought he seemed to wrap his mind around that. His eyes widened just so and he sat up. "Oh...this.......this isn't my den, is it? How'd I get in here, I wonder....Mmph." He'd been looking around at the walls and come back to the female. He'd frankly forgotten about her with the revelation that this was in fact not his home. "....Who are you again?"

A look of confusion over took her face at this words that weren't greetings but accusations. "Uh-" She was about to answer his question but was interrupted as he answered the question himself. This guy was a little... different, though not in a bad way. I mean who was she to judge anyone? "I don't believe I gave you my name yet and this is my den you are in. Though I don't really mind the company at the moment." She continued to watch him with interest. "My name is Tribalwind and you would be who? " She spoke with an amused tone and watched him sit up. She followed his example and sat up as well. " Are you a Peke'Na member?" She questioned just incase, she had been wrong a time or two before. Some rogues were known for coming onto her pack's land.
What was happening now happened to her once or twice when she spent the whole night and part of the day scouting the area of Peke'Na. She would come home, or what she thought was home, and sleep only to wake up in a completely different home. Thank goodness the inhabitants of the home were friendly and didn't seem to mind. The poor dear looked exhausted. " You are welcome to rest here for a little while if you would like?"

The glazed look began to fade from the male's eyes. Just because he was often lost in thought didn't mean he was unintelligent. It just took him some time to get back to himself. He could carry on a conversation with a pretty lady. At least he thought he could. What'd she said her name was again?
"...I'm Distantthinker. Because...uhm...well I'm Distantthinker. Peke'Na? ....Yeah. Yeah I am." He smiled cheerfully. He'd answered both her questions and not gotten (too) distracted at all! "That's nice of you to offer....was it Terriblewind? That's a...a bad name. You're....too pretty to be terrible anything." Gulp. Now he WAS getting distracted the more attention he paid to her. That wasn't fair at all! He was trying to focus...

She nodded as she listened to who she now knew as Distantthinker. "I see, well nice to meet you Distantthinker... and no its not um Terriblewind." She had a painfully almost annoyed look on her face. "Tri-bal. Tribalwind, but you can call me Tri or Kokuro if you want. Kokuro was my name from before, from the roguelands." She blushed though at the 'pretty' comment.
She moved a little closer as she was becoming more comfortable with his company. His words were a bit spaced out, but still at least he was trying to make conversation. "Here." She turned around and walked over to her hidden stash of fruits. Once there she picked up a local delicious fruit and walked over to the male to present him with her food. "For you. Have you lived in PekeNa for a long time?"

"Oh, I like Tribalwind much better. I don't think you're Terrible either...Oh, thank you." He admired the fruit without eating it for a moment. He was a tree shaper after all, a worker of plants. This fruit seemed very plump and shiny...that was good. He wondered what part of the pack's lands she'd picked it from. He'd have to snoop around the next day in the light and try to see.
"I don't think I was born here...but...mother brought us here a long time ago. When the pack first came here. So yes." He wasn't one of the original blood, perhaps, but he was as Peke as a Na could get, right?
He started to say something else but then seemed to mentally slam on the breaks. "Wait...you said your name was," and his voice dipped to a whisper, as if he were afraid someone else would hear, "......Kokuro?" His ears laid back and he blushed under his fur, becoming once again very interested in the fruit. He rolled it a bit with one paw. "Uhm...you told me your true name...and.....I thought only mates did that?" A horrifying thought hit him. He DID space out for a lot, even important things. "Are....are we mates?" She must hate him for spacing out during the whole ceremony! Had he even told her his true name? She was probably waiting on him and he was just ignoring her!
"Mine's Mbali'Akili." He blurted, blushing deeper and staring HARD at that fruit.

She felt her rosey cheeks get even more rosier at his charming words. " Thank you, I chose the name because of my almost tribal like markings and I have been told I am as fast as the wind." She watched him inspect the fruit she had given him. "Oh I see, I never knew my mother... or family. I was either abandoned at quite a young age or my parents passed away." All thought stuttered to a halt by his next words. ' O-oh my gosh! I made a social faux pas already! I've been in Peke'Na for a month so far and I still make such mistakes!' She thought with horror causing her eyes to widen and her ears to come to pointed peaks ontop of her head. She didn't want to make her handsome friend angry at her mistake. Still blushing she stammered out, " M-mates?"
She wondered if he was being serious, I mean who could forget someone as special as your life partner? His confusion fed her confusion. " Not that I recall... Mbali'Akili. We just met now unless-" A thought passed her mind, a few nights ago she remembered coming home late after drinking a sweet yet bitter juice that had made her feel tipsy. "No, no. I don't think I would do something as unproper as that." She whispered to herself.

Oh spirits and heavens preserve them both. First they were mates, then they weren't, but everything DT'd been raised to think was screaming to him that you only told your true mate your real name, and not only had she, which might have been okay because she was from out of the pack, but he had too! He took small comfort in that at least they both knew...That would keep the balance of power even until they got this sorted out.
"Unless...what??" He was desperate to know if he'd done something as awful as ignoring the poor female all through their mating ceremony. He didn't remember wooing her or any of the other things that came with courtship, but they'd shared names so they HAD to be mates. Didn't they? And to be honest the majority of his life was a blur from his lack of attention. He really could have forgotten it all!
"....Tribalwind, right?" He didn't dare use her real name until he learned the truth. "Are you sure we're not mates? I....I don't remember....but only mates tell each other their true names. Right...?"

" Uh nothing!" She spoke quickly, she didn't want him to think her... a lush. " Yes I am Tribalwind." She smiled happily as he remember her name correctly this time. "I didn't realize that only mates said their true names to each other." She took a deep breath of courage to finish her sentence. " But I would very much like to get to know you better and we have the future to find out if you are interested?"
She settled herself down and watched him with some affection. It looked like her future was about to get a bit more interesting and not so lonely as she was now.
