A private RP between Impy Kun (Meggie and Shade Fairbairn) and DarkHikari (Verin and D'Anthe D'Veldrin)
Location: Nibblers Cafe
PostPosted: Mon Jan 24, 2011 1:23 pm

Meggie didn't know why she hadn't invested in a baby-leash yet. You'd think that she would've gotten one after the last fiasco that had involved Shade taking off on her - she apparently wasn't a fast learner though. The fact that her son was currently running wild through Nibblers was proof enough of that fact. "Shade, get BACK here!"

Shade squealed with delight, ducking underneath tables and chairs in order to slow his mother down. He made a number of people cry out in surprise at the same time, gaining some looks of disapproval, while a few others looked on in amusement at his antics. "Can' ca'ch me, Mama!" The boy finally stopped under a table, giggling as he crouched under his new hiding place. She certainly wouldn't find him here, right? He'd chosen such a good hiding spot!
The impling boy plopped down under the table and giggled again, hugging his precious stuffed elephant to his chest. He paid no mind to the set of legs that were under the table with him however - they were of no concern to him. He didn't much care, so long as his mother didn't find him.

Verin yawned and rubbed his eyes for at least the hundredth time. It was much to early for the drow, but D'Anthe had been hungry, and he had quickly discovered that he had forgotten to buy groceries. So, despite the irritating light, he had gotten up and dressed himself and Danni and headed to the only good cafe he knew of. Next to him he could hear D'Anthe giggling. That was usually never a good sign. Lifting his head off of the table he peered at her.

D'Anthe chewed on the edge of the table, bored and getting hungrier by the second. Murr sat in her lap, his button eyes staring blankly out into the cafe. Daddy was hiding his eyes again. Or....maybe he was just looking down under the table. She frowned, wondering what was more important than her. Pulling Murr closer to her she peeked under the table. Her eyes widened in surprise as she noticed a little boy with a tail just like her's. She giggled and squirmed so that she was on the floor kneeling next to him. "Hi. Are we hid'n?"

Shade looked to the little girl who had slipped to the floor next to him and blinked, tilting his head at her. Other than Faust, the little boy had never seen anyone who looked anything like himself! It took a moment for the little boy to register that she was speaking to him before he giggled and nodded, motioning with his finger for her to be quiet. "Uh-huh! Hidin' fr'm Mama!" he whispered before giggling again. Suddenly and as if on cue, a pair of sneaker-clad feet and jean-covered legs appeared by the edge of the table, and Shade grinned as he scooted further under the table.

"Sorry for the disturbance, but I believe my son is under your table." Megg gave the man who was currently sitting at said table a sheepish look before ducking down to peek under the tablecloth. She was soon greeted by the sight of two impling infants seated under the table, one of which was Shade - the other, however, was a little girl who Megg had never seen before. She was cute.
"Alright my little troublemaker, playtime's over." She reached under and plucked her son up off the floor, ignoring the whining noises that he began making. "Lets let these nice people eat in peace." Though, she was a little curious now - this was the first time that she'd ever met another impling guardian. Who'd have thought that she'd run into one at the cafe?

Danni put a finger to her lips and nodded, her eyes lit brightly as she scooted against Verin's legs. She wasn't sure what sort of game they were playing, but she liked to play new games. Verin could feel the weight of his daughter press against him and shook his head. He wondered what she was up to. He started to lift the tablecloth to peek before he was interrupted.

Looking up he smiled at the women....no....she was more of a girl still. "No problem at all." He moved so that she had more room to look, a grin playing at his lips. Danni pouted as her playmate was taken away. Her bottom lip quivering she crawled up and into her fathers lap, trying to reach out for Shade. "Nu! Nu go yet! Play with Danni." Verin frowned and stroked her hair. "D'Anthe....." His voice was soft but firm. "He has to go with his mother to eat. Maybe if you ask the beautiful young lady very nicely, the two of you can arrange to play at another time." He flashed a charming smile at Megg.

Danni stood up in the seat so that she could look over her father at Megg and Shade. "You let Danni pway with you baby later?" She did her best to be polite like Verin had instructed.

Beautiful young lady - now THERE was something that Megg didn't get called every day. The girl couldn't really help but flush a bit, though she still managed to return the smile as she struggled to come up with a response of her own. She found one, however, as the little girl impling asked about letting Shade play with her - she could most certainly get an answer for that.

"Well, I would be happy to let you two play as soon as we're done eating - if it's okay with your Daddy." She looked to the man, her look asking for his permission in the matter - she certainly didn't want to interrupt his evening, no matter how pleased she was with the idea of Shade having a playmate. He normally only ever got to play with Faust. Meggie was quite fond of the little munster, of course, but Shade really needed to socialize with other children. It would be good for him.

"Shay p'ay wif Danni!" And it was quite clear that Shade was just as eager to play with D'Anthe as she was to play with him. Really, she would be fine with it as long as D'Anthe's father had no objections.

Verin suppressed a chuckle as the color rose in the girl's cheeks. With an approving nod he smiled down to D'Anthe. "Its alright with me. As long as you sit still and finish dinner first." For his part, the drow didn't care. He took a relaxed approach to parenting. As long as right and wrong were established and the child was never abused, hungry or neglected; there was nothing wrong with letting them discover the world and its rules through curious exploration.

D'Anthe's grin was plastered from ear to pointy ear as she sat back in the booth, climbing up into her booster seat and folding her hands into her lap as she waited for her dinner. "Danni eat and den p'way wif Shay! Kay?" The sooner she ate, the sooner she could play with her new friend. As she waited she thought up games that they could play.

"Well, alright then! We'll come back to see you once we're all done!" Meggie gave D'Anthe and her father a smile and a nod before carrying Shade back to to the table that they'd been seated at earlier. She ordered their food after placing the little boy in his booster seat, and it didn't take long for a waitress to bring them their meal. The brunette was amused to see that her son ate his food hurriedly, obviously eager to play with his new friend.

"All done!" Shade beamed at his mother and she chuckled as she reached over to wipe some ketchup from his mouth and fingers. "P'ay wif Danni now? Huh? C'n baby p'ay wif Danni now??"

"Yes, yes sweetie, you can go play with Danni now." Megg handed the waitress the money for their food before proceeding to lift Shade up out of his seat. She carried the toddler back over to the table that D'Anthe and her father had been sitting at, and Shade squealed in delight when they approached.

"P'ay! P'ay wif Danni!" The little boy squirmed, clearly anxious, though his mother kept a firm hold of him in her arms.

"Now wait a second Shay, we need to make sure that they're all done first." Megg glanced to the drow at the table with an expression that asked if he and D'Anthe still needed more time to eat - if he was, it would probably be best to take the two infants somewhere else, where they could play without disturbing any of the other people in the cafe.
