The elements.
We all know what they are, what they represent. It's always been simple. The major idea came around when the Chinese invented their system of worshipping certain elements; fire, water, earth, air, and steel.
They made a few mistakes though. All though their assumptions were near correct, they left out two major elements, the ones that balanced all the others. Light, and shadow.
In an instant, steel was claimed to be the highest power, and the ever-watchful eye on the other guardians.
Basics. I'm rambling.
Anyway, few know that the planet earth, has several dimensions that border it, each one containing strange, new creatures, known as 'aliens'. The modern idea of 'aliens' show as giant headed creatures with bug eyes and skinny bodies.
Ha.
There was a time when there were guardians of these elements, each one representing a creature, a weapon, and of course, the elements true powers itself. But of course, like every story, there was one who didn't like the way things were running. He, as Lucifer did, tried to rise up against these guardians to overthrow the leader, steel. It of course, wanted nothing to do with the matter, and cast away the demon.
It was that day, the overlord of the discarded world broke the balance, and chaos was redeemed.
The guardians were locked away, their bodies destroyed and their souls littered the dimensions that had already begun to crumble. Their lives went on normally, without any memory of their past lives, before the dark over-lord rose again, returning to itss rightful power.
The guardians were needed. And their worlds were destroyed, leaving one of these dimensions, and that was the one that the guardians needed to return to.
These elements, the ones that balanced one another, fire-water, earth-wind, and light-shadow, each working in unison to keep the worlds safe. Now, they'll meet again, to protect those they had protected eons ago. ╔══════════════╗

+Shortened Version of the Story+
You’re an elemental (or a non-elemental If you choose) that was dragged into an unknown world (Arcadia) without warning. All that inhabits this world (besides foliage and such) is you and the other elementals. Lukas (the evil guy >=3 ) wants to harness the powers of each elemental and use them for his own evil bidding.
Explore this new world, discover your powers, create bonds with other element elites and maintain the balance of the universe.

No one element is greater than any other. I want you to know that. If you try to be high and mighty, I will smite you. That is fair warning. One element does not over power any of the others. (Not even steel.) In a way, they are all balanced. Even though there is an odd number, they are all equal.

Kera...
Kera looked up. That voice had been so clear, even over the rush of rainfall. She took a step back, and suddenly felt strange. Everything smelled like new coins, and turned red. Was she dying? Was she falling? Yes, falling into a sea of blackness, into...
Another...world...
Kera remembered walking aimlessly around the woods, when her memory was wiped out, her body ripped from the world, her concious lost.
Slowly, she opened her blue eyes, and rose slowly, her head aching. "Where...?"She said groggily, then gasped.Her surroundings were holy different. There were trees that seemed to reach to the sky, their leaves a deep green. Thick, lucious grass surrounded her, and she was sitting under a dead, white tree. This was clearly not the forest that her home resided in. These branches were jagged, sticking out very far, no leaves or anything. In the center was a hole, almost looking like it was cut out of the bark. Kera stared at it, then looked around...
"Oh my gawd...." was all she could manage to say.

"Water element... it is time to meet your destiny..."
The young girl with silver hair looked up at the waterfall with wide eyes. What a beautiful voice... She gasped as she looked around desperately to find its owner. It seemed to be coming... from the waterfall. She dipped her hand into the water and preparing the get a closer look. How pretty. The voice sounds like bells. I wonder what it will sound like if it sings. She slipped into the water, not really sure what the voice had said. Suddenly, the water started to push her, the ground beneath her disappeared as the currents pulled her underwater. "Help hel--mmph!" She kicked with all of her might, trying to get out of the fierce whirlpool. Am I going to die... like this...? She could no longer feel herself breathing by the time she lost consciousness.
"Hmm..." When Celeste finally woke up, she was not in the waterfall anymore. She wasn't even close to her own village. "W-where am I...?" The atmosphere around her was calm and soothing, she was floating in the middle of water, so pure that she could see the bottom of it. She quickly sat up, the water slid off of her as if it repelled her. Wha...wha... She was prepared to scream. Was she dead? How terrifying this afterlife is!

She stopped once she was far away, seeing a pool of water in front of her. "...I wonder if this is safe." she cowered a little, then sank to her knees in front of the pool. There were droplets falling to the pool from high above.
"Where am I....?" She said a loud, confused. Kera had explored the woods that surrounded her home many times. Yes, there had been miles of endless forest with little outcove embedded in it, but never anything like this.
Slowly she walked out from where she was hiding, and stood on a cliff overlooking a village. There were forests everywhere, an ocean in the distance. Mountains floated in the sky, and she could see there was even a desert. Kera mentally confirmed that she was not home anymore.

In panic, the small girl quickly got up, pushing herself from the surface of the water as if the water was like land. She stood on top of it, this magical water flowing strangely beneath her feet as the water slipped off of her body. She was perfectly dry in a matter of seconds. Frightened, she tried to run but immediately fell into the pool of water. W-what is this? She panicked, still afraid from the rough pull from the current in the waterfall. She thought back to when she was back at the waterfall. That's right! The voice! If she looked for the voice, she might be able to find her way back home.
After several attempts, she successfully pulled herself out of the water and was standing on it again. She slowly took steps on the surface, trying her best not to look down at the flowing water. After a few moments, she spotted a long black cape and flowing orange hair. Maybe she's the owner of the voice! In excitement, she quickly walked towards the girl, trying to ask her so many questions. "Excuse me! Miss?" She called, her voice small and metallic.

Kera had been following a butterfly that had fluttered by her face and caught the child-like girl's interest. "I'm gonna getchuu~!"The girl giggled, skipping after the colorful insect.
"Excuse me! Miss?"
Kera's attention immediately turned to the source of the voice, her skipping ceasing. She stared at the silver-haired girl who was advancing towards her, happy to see another person. Kera opened her mouth to greet the girl, but... Oh, the butterfly..!! ...her attention turned to where she had last saw the butterfly, frantically looking around with her eyes for it. "Oh poo..."The girl pouted when she couldn't locate the organism with colorful wings. Remembering the girl, Kera once again turned her attention to her, smiling.
"Hello~"she beamed.

"Hello~"
The girl responded cheerfully Celeste blushed slightly as she looked down at the tips of her shoes, embarrassed that she had popped out of nowhere. I must seem like some awkward stranger... "Uh, uhm... I'm sorry to bother you." She shifted between her two feet while apologizing. "Do you know... how to go home?" She looked up at the girl, her clothes seemed foreign to her village and she probably didn't know where 'home' was or what it meant. "I-I mean, Spring Valley." She said automatically but soon ducked her head again in apology. She remembered her grandmother telling her the name of her village but Celeste never found a reason to use it.
Everyone she ever knew called their village with simply one word, 'home'. She missed her family so much, she wished she could go back quickly before they start to worry about her. If only she didn't follow that voice! Then she wouldn't be away from home like this with no idea how to get back. She looked at the sky but there were several suns, along with a million sets of stars and some mountains. It was like the universe, bundled up together right here. It was almost terrifying, the feeling of being lost.

"Spring Valley...?"Kera repeated, tapping her chin as she tried to recall what that was. The name spring valley didn't ring a bell. Kera was only familiar with 'Dojo' , 'Grandma's house' and 'Mori Forest', -- that was her home, the home she was ripped out of. Kera softly shook her head, her smile still shining brightly.
"Nope. Sorry, i've never heard of Spring Valley. Do you know how to get back to Grandma's house?"
The red-head asked happily. Kera had never strayed from the woods with the exception of the occasional trips into town. Other than that, Kera's entire world was Mori woods and Grandma's house. The naive girl didn't know of any other places outside of that.
