Dressed from head to toe in black, a new figure sat crouched on a roof top over looking the town and its occupants. Pale blue eyes seemed to be searching for someone but each person they saw in the crowd wasn't who they were looking for. Fingers began to tap impatiently at the brick beneath their hands, wondering when their intended target would show up.
About an hour prior they had seen the rat, the one known as Bent-tail, enter the library but he had yet to exit. It was becoming increasingly frustrating but they refused to budge. They were on a mission of sorts, something a little more personal that your average hit and run.

Bent-Tail had been spending some time at the library studying, as well as doing some general browsing to see what to grab for when he had some downtime. A little later he was to meet up with Shun to hang out a bit, but for now he wanted to get back to his room so he could drop off his stuff and relax for awhile.
Exiting the library, he took in a breath of the brisk air before beginning to head back towards the school, not all too aware that someone was waiting for him.

Finally he emerged, it was about damn time. Not ready to pounce just yet the figure followed the boy as he walked through town waiting for a less crowded area to come up face to face. They had one area in mind already since it looked like Bent was on a path back to school. Leaping from one building top to the next with surprising ease and light feet, the figure came to a stop at an alley only a few paces ahead of the rat. The people here were fewer and far between. It was less likely there would be anyone around to notice him going missing.
Jumping down from the roof was a very acrobatic event as the figure bounced from wall to wall until they finally caught the fire escape in the end to slow their decent and land fairly quietly. With quick steps they pressed themselves to the edge of the alley, listening intently for the rat to approach. He was only two steps away. It was almost like a count down before hands lashed out from the alley to snag Bent-tail's shirt and drag him into the unlit depths. The smell of the alley among the clothes of her father would no doubt throw off his scent, but she wasn't entirely worried about him figuring out who she was sometime later...because he would be dead.

As he walked on along the street, Bent-Tail's ears flicked now and then as he heard various sounds of the crowd. Anything he picked up was just dismissed as the normal bustle of people. So when a pair of hands suddenly shot out to grab him, he was definitely caught off guard. Letting out a startled cry, he quickly struck out at the mystery person to try and get them to release him.

Bent-tail's captor didn't expect her prey to be easy, so when Bent lashed out she was ready. Still having a hold of him she maneuvered Bent so that the attack missed, the figure then trying to force the rat into the wall of the alleyway. With their free hand they grabbed for the thick metal and leather band around their wrist, the object glowing slightly before it started to shift in shape. The transmutation was quick and when the figure drew back their hand they held a knife in place of the band, the blade aimed for Bent-tails back as they brought it down.

"Woah!" While trying to see who was grabbing him, Bent-Tail saw a blade in their hand all of the sudden. Twisting about, he managed to not get himself pinned to the wall and was now trying to do what he could to essentially throw his attacker off of him, narrowly avoiding getting a knife to his back as well.

Through a bit of struggling Bent-tail managed to throw the figure back a bit, though they came to a stop easily enough ready to lash back in a second attempt. There was no hesitation in their movements as they came forward with the knife again, slashing at bent's chest. The clothing the figure wore and the way their face was covered made it hard to discern if it was a boy or girl. The mixed scent in the clothes was the same way. Even their eyes were mostly covered and shadowed in the darkness though it looked like they were a light colored blue.

Bent-Tail, feeling his assailant be pushed away, began to back away. He hopped back when they lashed out once more, moving only fast enough to receive a small cut to his chest. Narrowing his eyes, he tried to pick up on any signs of who this person was, but he kept getting mixed signals with everything he was picking up on.
He had no weapons on him at the moment, so for now he decided to make a run for it until he could arm himself with something. Bolting down the alleyway, he tried to knock down some trashcans along the way to hopefully slow down his attacker.

The knife had only grazed the rat, it wasn't nearly satisfying enough. Gripping the handle firmly they were about to attack again but Bent-tail took off down the alley. Quick to follow the figure leaped into the air and bounced off the wall of the alley to avoid the trashcans, landing neatly on their feet on the other side as they continued their pursuit.
Seeing how the rat was a little smaller and quicker the figure decided to even the odds a bit. As they continued to run their body began to shift and change. The sound that echoed up from the rearranging of bones was rather sickening, but soon in the place of Bent-tail's attacker there was a black husky, the dog's powerful legs pushing it through the alley at a faster rate. The clothes the figure once wore seemed to have been transmuted into a collar of sorts. A multiple strap, thick banded collar.

Hearing a strange popping noise, Bent-Tail glanced behind to see that he now had a husky chasing after him. So this pursuer was a shapeshifter. That made things a little tricky. Grabbing onto a trashcan lid as he passed by, he spun about to whip it at the dog before continuing to run. He then jumped onto a dumpster to hop onto a fire escape. Dogs weren't really known for their ability to climb and all.

The husky had to stop, ducking below the trashcan lid that had been thrown in its direction. Once passed that obstacle it looked up to see Bent-tail climbing on top of a dumpster toward the fire escape. With a growl the shapeshifter ran down the length of alley before it reached the dumpster, its body shifting and changing again. The dog had started to leap but in its place a small squirrel monkey landed on the dumpster pulling its way up with ease. With another leap the monkey grabbed hold of the bottom of the first level of the fire escape climbing up to cut Bent-tail off. As soon as her feet were on solid ground again the shifter turn back to their original form, knife in hand. Their stance seemed a little off though, not quite wavering but not quite steady.

A little blur went right past him and sure enough there was a monkey cutting him off once again. Seeing that their stance wasn't all that steady, he shot out a kick towards their legs while gripping onto the fire escape to make sure he didn't lose his own balance in the process. An idea popped into the rat's head soon after he did this which was to essentially try to force his attacker to keep shifting. The constant use of magic was bound to exhaust them more quickly.

While their stance might not have been steady it was still good enough to avoid having their legs kicked out from under them. Jumping up and forward the kick was avoided while the figure lashed out at Bent-tail with the knife again. They were seriously determined to end him any way they knew how.

Already low to the ground, Bent-Tail swung himself out between the rails as the attacker struck out again. Letting go of the fire escape, he landed back on the dumpster with a loud metallic thud before fleeing off again. If they were to catch a glimpse of his face around then, they probably would have seen a slight smirk on his expression.

The shifter all but snarled as Bent-tail evaded their next attack, fleeing from the scene once again. Could he not just sit and take it like a man? He was a squirrelly son of a b***h. Grabbing the railing of the fire escape, Bent-tails attacker was quick to follow him over the edge landing on the dumpster with a thud before flipping off it to land on the concrete. As soon as their feet hit the ground their body started to shift once again knowing they wouldn't be able to keep up otherwise.
This time as Bent-tail ran he would hear the sounds of a wild cat behind him, a lynx speeding its way in his direction, long sharp teeth bared and ready to take a bite.
