Riyo was always determined to keep her survival skills fresh should... Bad things transpire and the need to conceal her tracks grow. In the meantime, whenever she wasn't hanging around Mitsu or Klyde, she was searching around the outskirts of town for interesting little things.
One of them being a little secluded pond in the middle of an unkempt and abandoned nature trail. The couple of times she'd been out and about exploring, her eyes had caught sight of some fish splish-splashin' in the water.
She'd thought about inviting Klyde to go, but the fact that they'd be in the morning sun made her reconsider. Mitsu seemed a little too fragile for the whole "cleaning what you catch" thing.
Which left her with one friend. Blade. If he didn't want to go, she could always go by herself, but they really didn't do much together anyways... And she felt bad about it.
So there she was, up at the crack of dawn before sunrise. Instead of walking that way with him, she figured she'd make it interesting. Pinned on his door was a crudely drawn map with a rough sketch of the area she was making her way to, a couple of clues written down for the hell of it. Like a treasure hunt! Hopefully he wouldn't be too pissed at her for messing with him.

Waking fairly early as usual, Blade was doing his normal morning rounds before deciding to leave to do other things. What those other things were at the moment, he didn't really know. He figured he'd just play things by ear for the day. Things have thankfully been quiet since New Years Eve, but the lack of activity was making him restless at the same time. There were only so many raids he could do at a time without raising flags that something was going down and all.
Opening his door, a note tacked to it caught his attention. The thief went and grabbed it, raising a brow while looking over the details. Now this was interesting. He didn't really know what this was all about, but he didn't really care. It gave him something to do and his curiosity was successfully piqued.
Taking a moment or so, he studied the map and its clues while trying to picture the exact spot this led to. Once he had a fairly decent route in mind, he set off. It seemed that this map brought him through a nearby nature trail, one he hadn't really been to before. In fact he didn't really know this had existed prior this morning. Pausing at one point in the trail, he looked around to see which way he needed to go. Between some trees in the distance, he spotted a body of water... which according to the map was where he needed to be.
"Hello?" he called out. Surely someone else was here. Unless they decided to send him out into the woods on a wild goose chase...

Just because she could, Riyo hid up in the closest tree to the lake, silently waiting for the thief's approach. She figured she'd wait about an hour and if he didn't show up, then she'd start fishing by herself.
Low and behold, just as she was about to jump down, a dark figure approached the lake.
Holding back her extreme desire to snicker, Riyo waited for him to pass before locking her legs around the branch and hanging down, carefully reaching out to poke his side. "Boo."

When there was no immediate reply, Blade furrowed his brow and looked around some more. He looked all around... except up. Not expecting the poke, he jumped and spun about ready for a fight, somewhat expecting this to turn out to be some sort of HIVE ambush. When he saw Riyo there instead, he relaxed and shook his head to himself.
"Oh it's just you," he grinned before chuckling, "You got me pretty good there though."
"So what's up?"

"Just me, huh?" Riyo asked teasingly, using one hand to keep her shirt from slipping down.
"I challenge you, Blade, to a fishing competition. Whoever catches the biggest fish at the end of the day wins." Riyo proposed, golden hair swaying sightly with the cool morning wind as it hung in suspension.
"The catch is, you gotta make your own fishing pole and find your own bait. I'll give you some fishing wire and a hook, but that's it." It was an unfair match up, Riyo thought, but it would be fun.

At the challenge, Blade raised an eyebrow in amusement. This sounded interesting for sure. Now, the thief had never gone fishing before so it was definitely going to be a learning experience, but how bad could it be? Besides, this could be fun.
"Alright. You're on," he accepted with a smirk, "Ah... where do we put the fish we catch?"
He figured it'd be a good question. Otherwise they'd have some fish flopping around here and there.

"In a bucket." Riyo said simply, swinging back up to the branch she was hanging off of and jumping down, taking only a moment to compose herself before walking over to the lake. She'd sat a large stick there earlier to use as her pole. Nice and sturdy. And next to that was... A small bucket.
"It's uh... All I could find. Guess we'll have to share."

Following Riyo over towards the lake, Blade took note of the stick she had. It looked like it would be a pretty decent fishing pole and the thief made a note to try and find a stick just as good, if not better. The bucket, though seemed a bit small, but then again maybe this lake didn't have big fish anyway.
"It should be enough I think," he said in regards to the bucket, "So. Let the games begin then?"

"Sure." Reaching into her pocket, Riyo pulled out a piece of fishing line and handed it to Blade, then carefully removed a hook from a raggedy old hat she'd procured most likely from a dumpster. She was thrifty like that.
I guess I'll go ahead and start fishing. Better find that stick in a hurry before I catch the whole pond." She teased, grabbing her own fishing line and tying it to the end of the stick with the hook following. It only took her a second to find a worm. Just had to flip over a rock and there was a ton of them waiting to be impaled on a hook.
Riyo didn't even flinch putting the worm on the hook. It was something she'd done enough times to not care, and once the sightless creature was writhing at the end of her line, She cast into the not-so-deep abyss, relaxing as she waited for a bite.

Taking the hook and line, Blade smirked, "Don't worry I'll be giving you competition soon enough."
Glancing as she flipped a rock over, he noticed how many worms were there. He'd have to try and steal some from her once he was ready, but right now he needed a stick. Quickly he glanced around at the immediate area to see if anything was usable but nothing quite suited the job. So he went off into the trail to hunt it down.
It took him a little while, but he found a fallen tree that had some nice branches attached to it still. Picking out one of them that seemed to fit the bill, he went to break it off, using careful amounts of flame to help with the process. The thief tested its flexibility to make sure it wouldn't snap too easily and it seemed good enough for the job. As quickly as he could, he went to put the three objects together so he could get started.

"Pshaw. I bet you'll catch a minnow and that's it." Riyo stuck her tongue out at Blade, enjoying the fact that she could tease somebody without worrying they'd take her words offensively. That's honestly what happened to her when she fished for the first time...
Then again, Blade wasn't a helpless child in the wilderness. He was a man who was obviously capable of taking care of himself. Maybe he'd do just fine. "I hope I didn't cut into your plans or anything, I just figured you'd appreciate this more than Mitsu or Klyde. If you don't want to do this, you don't have to humor me."

"Think you can do better?" the thief teased back.
Returning to the lake with his makeshift fishing pole in hand, Blade glanced over at Riyo while snatching up a worm from where she had gotten one. A few of them hadn't burrowed into the soil yet thankfully.
"Nah, I didn't have anything planned for today. Besides... it.. really isn't all that often I get to hang out with someone," he said with a faint smile. Not that he knew what he was getting himself into when he found the note, but that was besides the point. Carefully, he stuck the worm onto the hook, not wanting to p***k himself in the process. With that all set, he went to cast the line. However, his toss came to a sudden stop as the hook snagged onto a bush behind him.
"What the?" he frowned while tugging at his line. When it wouldn't budge, he went over to free the hook from the little branches it had gotten stuck to, "This was planned... Completely."

"Well, you're welcome to come with me on other expeditions." Riyo smiled back, looking towards the lake and where her hook had sunk.
At the sound of the branches rustling, Riyo's head immediately turned back to the tree... Only to see Blade's hook caught in the branches.
"... Hehe..." Immediately she covered her mouth to keep from laughing too much, though it was obviously she was smiling wide. "Maybe... You'll catch one of those flying fish."

"I'd like that," he smiled back to her while working on getting his hook free. After a bit of fiddling, he had it out of the branches with minimal damage to the hook and worm. The same couldn't quite be said for the bush, however.
"Haha, very funny," he said with a hint of sarcasm while shooting her a glance, "Besides... never know when uh... a fish is... in a bush and all."
Not a very good comeback.
Moving closer to the water's edge, Blade tried again, this time getting the hook into the water and not caught on some plant behind him.
