Chapter 1: From the Beginning
Welcome to my Thread of Role-play. Firstly I'd like to welcome you here and secondly have a good time. Your Profiles that you have already created are perfectly valid and you may provide any reason you like to link it into your character's story. Or you may just use your character out of context. The possibilities are endless.
A little about our setting. Of course we're in the Naruto universe but we're not in a village. In truth we're in a place which seems to be isolated from the outside realm of shinobi. No one here has ever heard of a Shinobi nor have they ever contemplated the existence of such people. This place is called: Thunder Valley. Yet for all its isolation, it still has many of the problems that plague the outside world. There are those who are greedy and seek power, there are those who corrupt others to turn them into their personal pawns. Some are there merely to earn a living and go about their daily lives others seek to better themselves and others just want to keep themselves to themselves.
There are many people here and they do many things under the watchful eye of their Lord, the keeper of the Valley. For all intents and purposes tis is a blissfully unaware land of peace and prosperity, but all is not well for there is a rise in demons and the dawn of the shinobi are upon them.
Please feel free to get creative and I will get people involved into a story line that will hopefully inspire you to develop your characters in ways you never thought.
For those that are wondering, the Battle System is not entirely employed here and I shall personally take care of the NPC's which you will find a list of further down this page. Please focus on writing good stories.
Before I forget, I have purposely left the idea's vague. If you want to know more about a character or a description try to find out using your character. I will happily supply the information.
Non Playable Characters
Sen and Tai the Gate Guard ++++The keepers of the gate and the first two you are likely to meet upon entering the valley. They often patrol the outlying lands and their quite good at spotting newcomers and trying to find out who they are. For all their skill however they are a clumsy pair and prone to clowning around even if the mood is tense.
Lili the Nobleman's Daughter ++++And the stereo typical princess. A pure heart and a kind view of the world, she will trust anyone once and she's more than happy to help. Unluckily for her she has a knack of finding trouble and many times her father has had to send the town guard to look for her. Yet she never wavers from her path.
Chao the Shop Boy ++++No older than twelve yet already looking after the general store mostly on his own. He's often seen running about the valley delivering parcels to all and sundry. For such a boy with a boundless source of energy he likes to keep things simple and he's reluctant to try new things.
Yu the Pickpocket ++++Yu is a strange individual, he keeps himself to himself and knows little of the hardships of the world. If he needs to he'll lift a purse or two, he has never particularly seen a problem in taking what he needed. The problem is, he's not very good at his role and at best he's running through the village trying to escape his captives, at worst he can be found being pelted with vegetables in the Thief's Cage. Still he has a rather happy if nonchalant outlook on life.
Sera the Clairvoyant ++++Known to many as simply the Seer or the Mystic, Sera often finds herself alone for she is considered an odd girl. She speaks in riddles and often asks for something in return for her gift. It was her that foretold the rise of the demons and the coming of those from distant lands. Of course the reason why she was allowed to remain in the village is because she foresaw beyond all medical hope the survival from a disease the Nobleman's daughter.

Game Mistress says... ++++Hi, Nishi speaking. From time to time you will see these messages pop up. They're important to the game. Please make sure you read them as they can be crucial to the decisions that you make while playing. +++++++++++++++++++++++...resume play
Nishi lowed her dyed green deer skin hood as she emerged from the the dense tree line onto a high precipice, over looking the winding path into the valley. She allowed herself a moment to drink deeply from the water sack, which she had thankfully not forgotten to bring. That couldn't be said for various other implements such as her blanket roll or her medicinal supplies.
Likely it was due to forgetting her compass that she wound up here in the first place. Looking out before her, she could see what looked like a small castle, surrounded by smaller buildings, the makings of a small town perhaps. Dotted around the outer buildings there were small fields enough for a small family to farm each. A strange mist from the far side of the valley and a low rushing sound told her that there was a water fall and possibly a fresh water supply nearby.
Her mouth watered at the idea of fresh water. Nishi had drank nothing but rain water ever since she had entered this forest in the first place. Looking back over her shoulder into the dark murky depths from which she had emerged, she was surprised that the map she had acquired had been accurate for as long as it had before it became quite obvious that the author had guessed the rest of it, perhaps though the landscape had changed?
Looking about her, Nishi saw no way of getting down from the precipice apart from going back into the forest and from the looks of her surroundings it would be a long trek before she reached an ideal location to descend without any effort. Coupled with the idea of a warm bed for the evening and the taste of fresh water, she strung up a rope to a nearby tree.
After knotting the rope such that the harder she pulled the tighter the knot became, swiftly she looped the rope around her body and leaned backwards over the sheer drop below her. If the rope snapped, there wasn't much hope for her survival as she glanced down. Easily a two hundred foot drop onto hard protruding rock. Still...warm bed.
"Hup." She jumped. Catching herself and using her legs as shock absorbers, allowing the rope through her fingers, the young blonde haired girl made her way slowly down the cliff face unaware that every time she jumped the rope would snag against a sharp piece of rock. Would she reach the bottom?

════╗ (Hi, I hope I can join in)
Laying face down in a pool of ice cold water, Utemaro hadn't be conscious for the best part of three hours. His breathing had all but stopped and he moved only as the ripples of the water took him. Whether by fate or fortune, a dog whom had been sniffing nearby, paddled into the water and gently pushed its nose into Utemaro's face. Eventually, the pushing became insistent until his face was out of the water and then the dog licked him. His long pink tong coarse against Utemaro's water soaked skin.
The warmth of the tong and the movement served as catalysts to reawaken the life that dwelled within him. His right foot twitched and a moment later his ventilation systems were all a whir. Inhaling his first gulp of air in a long time, the first thing Utemaro did was thrash around, the dog backed away as Utemaro acted like a fish out of water. Eventually, he calmed, his hands plunged into the soft soil below him as he tried to keep out of the few inches of water. Although his eyes had been open almost from the start, he'd seen nothing, his mind had been too pre-occupied with readjusting itself to its new found state.
Yet now, Utemaro took his first look about him. He wasn't just in a pool of water, he was on the edge of a river bank and he'd been quite frankly lucky to have stopped this far with the rapid flow of the water as it was. A thunderous sound attracked his attention just a few hundred yards up stream to a cascading sheet of water plummeting down the cliffside into an unseeable pool of water below it. Then a thought occurred to him, he didn't know of any waterfalls around where he came from. For that matter he didn't remember how he got here in the first place. Had he come from over the waterfall? It would make sense wouldn't it?
Yet nothing made sense, around him were not the coniferous trees of his homeland but deciduous tree's...a mixed woodland, oaks and apples, birches and beeches. Nothing seemed to occur in any particular pattern here, not like back home. Where was he then? If was obvious he'd travelled south, but how far south?
He'd already pulled himself to the bank but now he sat down although not as alone as he thought as the dog announced it's presence by barking. Utemaro wasn't particularly keen on dogs, but it's hard to not like a dog whom had just saved your life. At least, that's how Utemaro saw it.
"Thanks." He whispered, sure that the dog wouldn't understand him anyway and flopped to the ground suddenly aware that he ached all over. Where had he come from...scratch that, he knew where he came from, now how did he get here?

Game Mistress says... ++++Hi, anyone is allowed to post here with whatever characer they would like to use. All I ask is that you treat the NPC's as if they were their own persons and when using them, try to write as much to their character as possible. So, Utemaro, welcome and thanks for joining. +++++++++++++++++++++++...resume play
The rope was holding thus far and she found herself almost halfway down. Not enough to prevent a fatal outcome but she had made good progress. Suspended in mid air Nishi felt the strain of the rope cutting into her even with the layers of clothing she wore to protect herself. Looking back up had been tempted just to climb back up but it was far too late for that now. Pulling her water sack from her waist, she pulled the topper and drank her fill.
It wasn't much further now, she could make it to the bottom and be well on the way to the village before sun down, hopefully reaching the village before sundown, it didn't look as though that would be an impossible feat. Yet dilly dallying wasn't going to speed up the process. Clipping the water sack again to her waist she resumed her descent, jumping outwards as she did so.
The rope however wasn't as keen on her descent as Nishi, for every jump she made a tiny thread broke upon the sharp stone. Every time she stopped to breathe, the rope would stretch. Every now and then a thread would just randomly snap. After all, this rope was only made out of natural fibres. The rope wasn't particularly strong, it was cheap and fairly efficient for it's use.
Simply put the coase rope wasn't designed for this purpose but more for holding things down. Still, it wasn't long before Nishi could reach the bottom. Perhaps the rope however would have lasted, perhaps the strain would have lessened or changed its location. The point however remains that we do not find out the conclusion for at that point, the rope seperated rather suddenly somewhere near the knot.
Down below, physics was for the moment working to keep the unaware, ignorant but only for a few seconds before suddenly the weight that had secured the end of the rope had gone. Nishi's eyes widened as she looked upwards to see the rope following her over the edge.
"No...." And then she screamed. Her voice echoed in the valley, she was falling, she was going to die and this was going to be her end. That warm bed...if only she'd taken the time to go around, but no, she had wanted to hurry, hopefully get there before sundown, take the risk she'd thought. All the way she screamed and screamed.
"Are you done?"
