I have these terrible nightmares (as obviously stated) and I can't shake the images at all. I guess I should give examples huh? Okay, well one I was falling, all around me was blue and I could hear (what I'm assuming was) an airplane engine. I knew I was asleep, but I couldn't wake up or move. I could literally feel myself falling. Same thing happened but I was falling into "Hell" scared the ba-jebbers out of me. Just want to know if anyone else has had these issues... or can offer help.

I actually suffer from nightmares all the time, and often night-terrors as well. I have Schitzophrenia.
I usually deal with it be listening to music while I sleep, or taking my mind off of any worries by watching tv before bed. Comedy Central is great for that.
I also suggest taking a relaxing hot shower before doing either of those, to help you relax.
the key thing to remember is that stress and worry is what typically triggers these nightmares. find something that will help you to relax and not worry so much, and you should rest easily. smile

I used to have dreams about death..
Like.. people or animals being brutally killed. So I know what you mean about not being able to shake the images. One stuck with me for about a week & I can still remember all of them in great details.
If you can figure out how to get them to go away, please let me know so that I can help myself as well.

You should find somthing about the meanings in dreams and see what it says about falling, you might have stress or something in your life that is causing it.

There are two ways to look at this issue: 1) Understanding the nightmares and ridding them via understanding the solution, or 2) Controlling your dreams, hence ridding yourself of the nightmares.
For the first one, it's really a matter of consulting a book about decoding dreams or a doctor specializing in what goes on during REM sleep (when you begin to dream). Falling could symbolize a loss of control in your life; falling into Hell could mean that you feel that you've done something wrong in your life and that there will be serious consequences; hearing an airplane engine could be a place you want to travel to but are unable, or something in life that's passing you by... on the fly... These are all very literal deductions, meaning that there may be something more i.e. teeth may represent money if you dream that you're losing all of them at one time.
As for the second fix, there are several solutions in this. One is listening to several seamless (connected) sound tracks that have varying pitch frequencies. The different frequencies, when played during REM sleep, allow you to realize "Hey, I'm dreaming" without the forcefulness of waking you up. There is also a kind of eye cover that will emit a very weak circle of light into each eye once the technology detects rapid eye movement aka when you begin to dream. The effect is similar to that of the varied frequencies.
I cannot guarantee that these will help you out, as none of my nightmares have been prolonged enough for me to seek guidance in these solutions. But I can say that I have a friend who uses first solution to the second part, as she frequently has nightmares about losing her arms (she doesn't think she can life her life happily without her arms), and she's told me that it really helps her. I hope you do find something that works for you, though, as no one likes having nightmares that threaten your inner existence.

I once had a dream that I was walking down the street and fell into something. It was fun. Felt like a roller coaster.

I used to have frequent nightmare but i took time to train myself not to dream. I did this by as i felt myself losing consciousness i would imagine just open blackness or i would imagine myself in a black box that kept everything out and ever since the only time i dream is wen i forget to do this or i allow myself to

ooh strange. Do you believe dreams take ideas from your conciousness? Like say you were worrying about something before you went to bed, what are the chances of dreaming about something related to your worry?
Nightmares are meant to be horrible. That's why they're call nightmares. Actually, a nightmare could be referred to as a dark blue horse. No. I've had some pretty messed up nightmares before. Don't worry about yours :]

Nightmares are fun. Then again I love a good horror so for me a nightmare is like my own horror movie in my dreams.
Instead of being scared, have fun with it.
Instead of falling, imagine flying.

This one time, It wasn't quite a dream, I woke up and looked at my alarm clock at about 3:00a. I wanted to get more sleep for the day ahead, so put my head underneath my covers. after a while i got this crazy tingly sensation, then i felt like i was being electrocuted, like when you stick a fork into a toaster. i couldn't move at al, and i couldn't scream. maybe it was a dream, but it hurt like hell until i tried to look at the clock again at 3:57-

Nightmares are normal for everyone. Each dream has meaning to it. Maybe you're afraid of going to hell? I have nightmares all the time. Lately it;s been about my family dying one by one and I get blamed.
Just remeber it's just a dream and you should be fine

I can offer nothing of use, but please keep the deliciousness coming. There's nothing quite like other people's nightmares. They're so fascinating.

I once had a dream where I thought I died... It was a really strange sensation... Like I was being disconnected from the world... I was so relieved when I woke up...
It happened the second time, but there were visuals in my dream. I was right in the front of my house looking at my neighbourhood, suddenly, the day turned to night and night turned to day, stars were spinning across the sky and everything was vertically mirrored, then everything fell apart. eek Hopefully I can't see into the future. XD
