Johnathan stood alone in the surf, a stiff wind whipping his mane into a frenzy around his head. The bite of winter, permeated even this far south and the water lapping against his legs was ice cold. Yet, he stood there up to his knees in the surf, as wave after wave rolled in and out. The white silk sleeves were plastered to his forelegs and heavy with water.
The sky overhead was clear, and bright blue, but he was hardly interested in what was above him, all that mattered was the wide, and deep expanse or azure blue that stretched out before him as far as his eyes could see.
His tail flicked back and forth as he started to sing in a deep baritone voice.
"Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me
We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
..."
He wasn't paying attention to the world aorund him, so lost in his thoughts, this was where he belonged, this was home. His lady sang to him in her various voices .. the rush of water, call of the sea birds, splashes from one thing or another. Her love rang in his ears, swam in his veins, and thumped it;s rhythm in his heart. Yes right here by the see was where he belonged.
The cold did finally seep it's way into John's bones, and he opened his crimson eyes before slowly backing out of the sea, noting with a smile of affection at the way she seemed to try and drag him back. "Aye m'laddy I'd never dream of leavin ye again."
