Note: For time line's sake. This takes place after the attack on the harpies done by the griffin herd.

The sun warmed his skin as he stalked off, wandering, getting to know the new land he'd stumbled upon. Such a curious place, he'd surely have to see some of it's inhabitants. Maybe find some mares to womanize. A small smirk played out on his face as he thought, settling down for a quick snack. He'd found a nice patch of tender grass. He was in his own mind, a stud muffin. Vanity had it's foot hold to an extent with him. A rabbit had hopped up as he mulled over his thoughts. Eying the little critter, he lifted a hoof and purposely stamped it down barely missing the bunny but inches causing it to run off. Giving a rumbling chuckle, he went back to grazing. Vane.. and a Jerk.. he was all that and a bail of hay in his mine.. only issue was.. his bark was much bigger than his bite.

The soft trilling of birdsong followed Luinil as she wove her way silently through the forest. The sounds, normally soothing to the sapphire huntress, were just another annoyance this day. Her sour mood would not be sweetened by birdsong or the warmth of the softly shimmering sun. The blasted griffin attack had thrown the Flock's peaceful life into chaos. Sisters down and wounded...foals terrified...baskets lost...some males managing to escape in the confusion. Including her own particular pet. Of course, she had been weak enough to actually free Aranel from his promise of servitude thus allowing him to escape...

Sharp talons tore deep furrows in the forest floor as she shook her feathered mane in irritation. How could she have been so stupid? To give a male his freedom just because he saved her life... She growled in frustration. How could she have been so weak...? Pathetic. Stupid males.

She stalked gracefully through the underbrush, looking for signs of suitable prey. Not just to help feed the Flock, but to serve as an outlet for her foul mood. Small game wasn't good enough this time. Perhaps a young deer or a wild pig...

A rustling ahead caught her attention. Damn! Whatever was causing such a racket would scare away any game in the area. Pale blue eyes narrowed in anger as Luinil noted the blundering progress of a strange soquili through the outer edges of the Flock's territory. From his prancing and posing - despite the lack of a visible audience - the young stallion certainly seemed to think rather highly of himself. Stupid male.

It looked like she'd found a suitable outlet for her frustrations after all...

He didn't even hear the mare's approach in the distance or see her for that matter. Clearly he was too busy filling his gullet to really keep any watch. Who'd attack a lone stallion right? Right! His mind had him secure in the thought that no one would be so bold, not even a kalona. Well..... Maybe a kalona. But he hadn't heard any wings in the skies and the birds were still chirping happily. His danger was minimal, or so he thought. His short tail gave a flick a he moved only slightly, his teeth ripping up the more stubborn grass so that he could munch away.

He looked up, a wad of grass hung from his mouth as he chewed and crunched; a clod of freshly ripped up dirt falling off the roots to the ground with a dull thud. It didn't take him long and he had that mouthful down. Lowering his head once more, He took a few more steps as he set back to gathering his next mouthful. Lush grass not quite tough and bitter but not quite that new tender sweetness either.. It was just the way he liked it right out of that young tender flavor.

Luinil watched the stallion through narrowed eyes. He attacked the grass with single-minded focus, completely oblivious to his surroundings. Good. A golden eagle could take down a mountain goat or even a young deer and the harpies were considerably larger than even the biggest bird of prey. A nice quick falcon-like stoop from a nearby tree and he wouldn't know what hit him. She carefully and quickly climbed up one of the huge trees nearby and...

1. jumps down and slams into the stallion with fisted talons, knocking him over but her momentum carries her over his body to stand beside him, talons at the ready (minimal damage)
2. jumps down and misses the stallion completely, landing in front of him instead. She raises one sharp-taloned foot, angry that she missed and ready to attack again.
3. jumps down and slams into the stallion with fisted talons, knocking him over and ending up with her talons at his throat (minimal damage)
4. jumps down and grazes the back of the stallion with her talons as she passes over him, landing beside him with talons flexed (minor damage)

One moment he'd been eating without a care in the world oblivious as to who's land he was blindly encroached on. All that had changed rather swiftly, He found himself being knocked over and from what he could take in during that shaken moment, he could have had worst luck in the looks of his attacker. Giving a rather annoyed snort, he rolled to his feet and....

1: Narrowed his eyes, his ears pinned back against his head in annoyance. "I could have had a worse attacker but seriously... why attack a stallion?"
2: Without giving much a thought he lunged at the mare before him biting at her neck. She started this and he'd be damned if he'd let a mare cause him to tuck tail and run. (Minor damage)
3: Though he'd been annoyed with this mare she was lovely, eye catching at least; he found himself too stunned from the initial attack to even speak.
4: Reared on his hind legs pawing at the mare, lashing out at her with sharp hooves. (minor damage.)

The stallion appeared stunned and Luinil took the opportunity to approach closer, one set of talons upraised and ready to strike if he threatened her. "You have entered harpy territory unbidden. Your life is now ours to command. You must come with me so I can take you to our Queen for her approval." She shook her mane imperiously and said with a sly smile, "I would strongly reccommend you obey quietly. Some of my sisters are not known for their...patience... with stubborn males."

He eyes her talons for a moment weighing and calculating his options. On one hand she wasn't bad looking on the other.. she seemed to have a nasty temper. "Harpy territory eh? And What says I want to be herded to some matriarch like some dumb cow?" His ears flicked though the look he gave was entirely cheeky. He pondered this a moment longer before giving her yet another cheeky grin and a wink. "Sure sure... just set those gut rippers down and I'll humor you..." What was the worst that could happen eh? he'd get smacked around a bit? Rough play.. as long as he wasn't too marred up couldn't be that bad and if the rest of her flock was any where near how this mare looked then well.. he couldn't be too hard off right? "On one condition though." He gave a sly smile now. "You.. have to out run me." With that he bolted to the side.

Luinil scornfully snorted as the smart-aleck male dove to one side, challenging her to chase him. Flexing her talons, she bounded off the nearest tree in pursuit. Out run him? Every time she hunted she caught faster creatures than this muscle-bound oaf! And he was in HER territory where she knew every tree and bush. Her pale blue eyes narrowed with uncharacteristic anger as she closed with him. This time she would not spare her claws!

1. Diving for his back, she missed completely, once more ending up in front of him with talons flexed. (no damage) "This is becoming extremely vexing," she muttered angrily under her breath. Raising her voice she snarled, "You are taxing my patience, tresspasser! Submit or that handsome blue coat of yours will be decorated with bloody strips of red."

2. She dove for his back, raking his withers with her talons as she passed over to land beside him, talons ready for a second pass if necessary. (moderate damage) "You have chosen the wrong mare to challenge, tresspasser. Unless you wish further damage, you will come with me!"

3. Slamming into him with her body, she knocked him over once more, this time flexing her talons at his throat, pressing into the soft flesh just enough to draw blood (minor damage). "Submit, tresspasser, or I will further tighten my grip on your throat."

He felt a sting of pain in his withers and the force had been enough to cause his to turn and stumble. His yellow eyes looked at her blankly and well being that he'd never truly learned to fight, he knew he was beat. Looking the mare over once more things shuffled through his mind. Cunning as he was he knew that if this kept up he'd surely end up dead and in tatters. "Alright, Alright.. I give my word.. you outran me enough to make me stop.. Have it your way."

He couldn't help but to flash he a rather rakish smile. " Might I know my captor's name?nI Am Finian." He was attempting to smooth talk her now that he knew he'd lost. He was a stallion of his word he'd made a bargain and lost the best he could do was to make the best of things.

Luinil's feather mane slowly smoothed down - along with her temper - as the stallion spoke words of capitulation. He showed greater wisdom than she'd expected. "I will accept your word as bond for your behavior."

She settled back onto all four feet, her talons flexing slightly in the mossy forest floor. "I am Luinil, but you will address me as Mistress. Show proper respect to my sisters at all times and you will prosper within the Flock." Nodding her head, she indicated the path ahead. "Accompany me to our Nesting Ground. I will present you to the Queen and, if she accepts you, you will be settled in with the other males."

Starting down the path towards home, Luinil couldn't help but remember the last stallion that had given her his word. Hopefully this male would prove as honorable as Aranel had... Now why had she thought of him?? Shaking her thoughts free of the fluttercorn she turned her attention back to the big blue stallion.

((daw her fatty piccu's adorable!!!))

Finian chuckled lightly but turned his head to look at his withers the best h could. The movement was enough to halt him. Thinking it better to just follow than to access his injuries, he gave the mare a charming sort of grin. "What ever fluffs you're feathers, mistress"

He looked around as he followed along behind her. His yellow and blue mane flopped along as his head bobbed along. He listened to when she had to say.. a matriarch.. other males.. well at least he wasn't going to be alone.

((will 'fast forward' through the Queen reception as per mind and our PM's))

Luinil shook her mane feathers, unexpectedly amused at the big blue one's charming impudence. She had more of a tolerance for respectful cheekiness than many of her sisters and he had listened quite intently to her explanation of flock culture and rules. As his introduction to the queen also went very well, the huntress was quite pleased with the strong, handsome stallion. Luinil was certainly going to take great interest in Finan's adaptation to the flock.

No time like the present! With a nod of her head, she indicated that he was to follow her. She led him to the males' Safe Zone, calling over one of the more....stable....stallions to help him settle in and to get the flock healers to look at his wounds.

"These males will help you adjust to our ways." She turned to walk away then paused, looking back at him. "I'll be keeping a close eye on you, handsome." She grinned and swished her tail feathers as she strolled away. "Welcome to the Flock."

He'd been amused by the ritual that said he was now apart of this funny herd of females. He followed his now mistress where she lead and blinked as another stallion was said to be there to help him get settled. Looking over at the mare as she left him standing there, He couldn't help but to chuckle at her own cheekyness "I'm sure it'll be well worth the scars in the end" He smirked lightly and looked around at his new home. Interesting to say the least. He'd have to take a better look when he wasn't aching.
