An origional roleplay created by Beyond Autumns Gate

Teravaeu[Tear-ah-vay-you]
They have existed for thousands of years.
They are the masters of souls- people with the extraordinary ability to find the true names of others and use those true names to bend them to their will.
Some are belevolent and take pity on their unfortunate servants, but most are cruel and vicious towards their slaves.

Spirited Away
They mostly take those who wont be missed; runaways, orphans, widdows, or prostitutes.
Lately, however, they have been taking healthy teenagers.
Teens have gone missing from their ways to and from school, at the mall, or even straight from their beds at night.

The Saveiha[Sah-vay-ha]
Those captured and enslaved by a Teravaeu are called Saveiha.
The Teravaeu use them to fuel their magic.
Every time a spell is performed, a bit of the Seaveiha's spirit is taken away.
This proccess will continue until there is nothing left of the Saveiha but a shell of their former selves. . . That is unless they ecape first
.

To escape a Teravaeu
To escape certain death, the Saveiha must find a way to change their true name.
Changing their true name releases the bind that the Teravaeu has on that Saveiha. But, changing a true name isn't easy.
To change your true name, you must first change a part of your character.
You must do something that changes your identity completely.
Most Saveiha die trying to do this task.

--I've done this one before in another forum, but nobody wanted to try it. I thought you guys might like it though. Tell me if there's any problems!--

Rules to abide by

One- For Teravaeu title the pm "Shadows".
For Saveiha, write "Names"

Two- Obey Gaia's TOS.

Three- Be literate. No one liners.
At least a paragraph per post.

Four- You get who I say you get. I'm pairing characters up.
Don't just go ahead and take someone else's Saveiha.
That's stealing and it's rude.
Now, if you have a problem with your partner, take it up with me and I'll fix it.

Five- That being said, just because you have a partner, that doesn't mean that you should just couple up.
Go to parties and mingle with the other Teravaeu and their Saveihas or make war with eachother and make your lives a living hell if you have to.

Six- I don't want all girls as Saveihas and all boys as Teravaeu.
Mix it up a bit.

Eight- Put a ninja in your pm, not a heart .

Nine- Notice how I didn't put up a number seven?
Well, this is number seven.
No surprises guys.
Nothing like "Surprise! I'm taking your Saveiha because I feel like it!"
This partains to number four.

I am all that you dream: Sandem Tiamat
Today, I am: female.
I have reached the age of: I suppose I'm around 1399, but I've fixed my apperance to look around. . . Nineteen?
Something's missing in me: a concience
Life can be a cruel and funny thing: I was born durring the time of the great Babylonian empire. My mother birthed me in the Tigris river. She had gone into labor while washing clothes. The name she gave me was Zulima. I was told by my grandmother that being born in the Tigris river was what gave me such a strong spirit and eyes full of wisdom far beyond my years. I had three brothers and two sisters, but they were unlike me. They were soft and lazy and useless. I was ambitious, which was vey uncommon for girls in that time period. It was also frowned upon greatly. Many believed that there was something wrong with my head. They would whisper and pull their children away when I approached. "Cursed child" they called me. It wasn't until I had reached the age of fourteen when I discovered that their words rang true. My grandmother was right. I was blessed by the river. The Tigris had given me her power: the ability to change my environment and yet remain unchanged myself. I could give life and I could take it away. My first Saveiha was the man chosen as my husband, but I did not realize it until late in our marriage, when his spirit began to wither away. It appeared that I had discovered his true name, purely by accident of course, but I had him in my grasp nonetheless. I didn't get him to do much for me by the time he passed on, but at least I had gotten the hang of being a Teravaeu by the end of it all. The only tears I shed for him were those of an opportunity wasted.
When all my "loved ones" had passed on, I myself remained. My body had not changed and neither had my magic. I changed my name from "Zulima" to "Tiamat". I thought it befitting, seeing as how my mother brought me into this world hoping I'd be a peaceful child, but instead, she gained an ambitious and destructive louse with the power of a goddess. That name lasted until just recently, when I came to America. Instead of "Tiamat'' as my first name, I have aquired the name "Sandem" and made "Tiamat" my surname. My latest Saveiha was a young russian immigrant girl in the year of 1897. She had no family, so when I found her scrounding for bread husks on the street, who was I to refuse her? It was purely for my benifit of course, but it was still an act of kindess on my part. She lasted until the time she was around twenty-three. I admit that my heart tugged a bit when she was gone. She had such pretty eyes.

My sweet little flower: To be determined
Am I cruel, or am I kind?: I am like the Tigris. I am kind some days and cruel the next.
All is vanity underneath the sun: laziness and worthlessness. I will not tolerate such traits in my Saveiha.
The beauty of it all: a new Saveiha [perferrably female] and perhaps even a male Teravaeu to spend these lonely years with?
