Most of you should know why I went ahead and started this thread... Obata drew HnG~
Oh that, and I've been a fan of it for a few years, though I never did get all the way through the manga. Horrible lazy me.

Weeee, I love HikaGo! biggrin
I made it all the way to volume 19 before it got liscenced and the scanalations were taken down. crying . It's gonna take ages for the English release to get that far...
I'm tempted to order them all in French, but I know that the guy at the comic book store would be upset if I canceled another series. ^^; Besides, I already have the first five in English, and I'd rather that the rest match.

Oh oh, I kinda read that.. It's interesting. I already know how it ends supposedly from my friend though, so it's kinda ruined. >o> Now I'm just trying to read it in Shonen Jump.

yeah, i read hikaru no go, but the art is so different than that of deathnote's which the same person drew

So far, I've only ever read the English HnG (sad, I know, but I can't find scanlations seeing as it's licensed). I wish I could though... crying
Still, I like it a lot. The art is slightly different from Death Note's though... Probably because the story is...more light-hearted and less dark, wouldn't yous say?

I got into HnG because i am in love Obata Takeshi's style of drawing. I read the Shonen Jump version of Hikaru so im only up to vol.8 right now. Its no rush, and i dont wanna spoil it for myself by going to look for scans. I love Akira though, isnt he just adorable?

O.O Sai goes bye-bye? Yes, please put that in spoilers! Oh whatever. I knew it was going to happen anyway. Hikaru couldn't have him hang around forever.
Wahh! I started reading HikaGo just to see what else Obata Takeshi had drawn. It's pretty good, but I can only read it when I go to Barnes and Nobles (xD) so I'm only up to volume three.

That's actually a good idea. Maybe I should try that with other series. I was in France when the fifth Alice 19th manga came out so I bought it and translated it myself. Of course I bought it again in English because I'm a**l retentive about my manga. ^^

But I only read them because they were drawn by Obata-sama.
But it turns out I actually like the series xDD
