Stretching herself sligtly, Jukwa'lililokuwa realized she'd found herself in familiar territory. Territory of a certain pale male that she remembered rather well. This was....Theluji's home territory. Tail flicking back and forth, she wondered if he was anywhere near by. Talking to him was actually rather nice, after all.
Theluji had taken to the borders of the pride again, keeping his eye out for Jukwa. He didn't want to miss her, should she make herself know on the border again. Especially if she had cubs with her, or was expecting them. He...really didn't know too well how this all worked. Oh he knew how cubs were MADE. And that a female appeared to gain weight when with cubs. But...aside from that, he was clueless. His ears perked up as he caught a VERY familiar scent...and started towards it. So his trip to the border today hadn't been fruitless!
Her nose raised as she scented Theluji, tipping her head and sitting down, waiting for him. She was chuckling slightly, wondering just how long it would take him to find her. Probably not too long if she was standing out in the open. Moving quickly, she hid slowly behind two bushes, lying flat. Maybe he'd find her quick, maybe not~ She'd just have to see, wouldn't she.
Theluji stopped when he came into the empty area, and frowned. Now...this wasn't right. He'd SMELLED Jukwa, and...ah! There was her scent again. He sank low to the ground and started sniffing about for the lioness...eventually he poked his head between the two bushes she was hiding behind, and smirked. "I found you."
She laughed softly, and smiled at him from where she lay, "Hello there, Theluji. I figured I'd come by for a little while, since I turned up in the area again." She seemed to do that, sometimes, just show up in random places, and meet people she'd met. It was rather fun, to be honest, and it wasn't like she was a complete stranger to Theluji.
Theluji chuckled somewhat and nodded. "I've actually been keeping an eye out for you. In case our deal came to fruition." He joined her behind the bushes, sitting. "How have you fared since I last saw you?"
She smiled softly, tail flicking back and forth, as she thought, "I've been well. Hunting has been good, and I was able to meet some interesting characters along my travels. It's been fun, honestly. I'm hoping our arrangement comes about as much as you are, Theluji, " Stretching a bit, she leaned against him slightly, smiling to herself, "How about you? Have you been well?
Theluji listened, not minding when she leaned against him. "I'm glad you've been well. I've been so myself. Have kept busy making sure the warriors in the pride stay trained, and that the guards aren't slacking off." He also may have found a new pride member. He wasn't sure, so he didn't say anything.
She purred softly, and nodded, tipping her head, "Sounds like a big job. I'm not a pride lioness myself, but you know...My kin will be, or some of them." Jukwa grinned at him, "If the deal blossoms." She really, honestly hoped it did. Because cubs of her own meant family. Family meant she wouldn't be alone, wandering the wilds, and someone to love and teach, without having to settle down for too long.
Theluji chuckled and nodded. "Not belonging to a pride is fine, so long as that is what the gods will. Not everyone can fit into pridal life...I have a feeling bloodlines would die out, if that were the case." He hoped the deal blossomed himself. Fasihi wasn't ready for cubs yet. And he felt he owed it to the pride somewhat to give them at least a cub.
Her claws dug lightly into the ground, as she scratched out patterns, gently, thinking to herself about the way things were going. How interesting, this arrangement between them. How was she supposed to act around him now? Casual, "I guess they would." Maybe....Looking up to the sky, Jukwa let herself watch the clouds, smiling. The days had been so pretty lately...
"It's not often we have bad weather here." He shifted so he could lay next to her. "Means we must be doing something right." He hoped. He always strove to please the gods. "I think our venture shall be successful." And she would get the little ones she desired, and he would have new blood for the pride.
She gently licked his ear, smiling at him, "Yeah. The Gods must be happy with your Pride. I've seen so many different kinds of weather, it's not even funny." The female laughed at that, grinning, "I do hope so." They were both laying hopes on the line with this deal. "Perhaps something....very interesting will happen, who knows?" She did love adventure!
Theluji flicked his ear a bit after she licked it, but otherwise made no protest. With the...deal they had, she could have a few affectionate or casual moments towards him. "So long as it's a good interesting. I would wonder if it was the bad sort of interesting. There is a rather old curse involving that. Have you heard it?" He'd grown up with it, his mother a firm believer in it.
She blinked. A curse? She'd never heard of it! "What curse?" There was a bad sort of interesting? She hadn't even known there WAS such a thing! "I did intend on the good interesting, so I hope it does stay that way!" Her grin was wide, and then her eyes turned back to him as she waited to hear just what Curse he meant.
Theluji nodded. "May you live in interesting times. That's the 'curse'. It could be either a blessing or a curse, I suppose, since it could go either way. But my mother believed it better to have a boring life than wishing for an interesting one. She feared the bad sort of interesting."
She blinked and nodded, tipping her head, "Wow...That's....really interesting. How strange!" Standing up, she shook out her pelt, "Well, then. I do need to be getting on... There's a place I want to see. Before anything happens, if it does!" SHe smiled and leaned down to lick his ear again, "Hopefully, I will see you again soon, Theluji."
Theluji nodded and stood as well. "Stay safe. May the gods smile upon you Jukwa...no matter what happens." She was a good feline, even if she wasn't the pridal sort.
