Kichaa'noga was still getting over the initial shock of having to survive on her own out in the Rogue Lands. The steep learning curve she had to take from learning to hunt to defending herself had left her completely and utterly emotionally drained. She almost considered dragging herself back to the Ukuucha'Wafalme several times and begging Nadhir to take her into his harem before remembering the consequences that would come to not only her, but her brother. She couldn't give up this easily, and she would not allow her brother's risk to be taken in vain.
Still, the Rogue Lands made her edgy and kept a constant stream of butterflies in her stomach as she walked about. Sighing, Kichaa meandered into a higher patch of grass and laid down within it. The adolescent knew that her bright red coat wasn't exactly going to be covered by the height of the grass she was laying in, but she tried nonetheless. Maybe if she hoped hard enough than others would skip over her when they scanned over the lands and she wouldn't be forced to fight for her ability to take a rest.
"I miss Nadhir," She murmured to herself quietly, shoving the thought from her mind. She chose to leave him behind. He was her only friend, and her his only friend and she broke that. Even if they met years from now, she didn't think he'd ever forgive her.

Shaking his heavy mane, the bright orange feathers at his ears flashing, the large blue-stripped male padded slowly along. Just another day on the job, yet for this Iknimaya member, his work rarely allowed him to stay within the deep forest of his home. So instead, he found himself padding along in a yellow and gold coloured world where his dark coat and glowing markings made him stand out like a sore thumb. Yet he was not wandering aimlessly, no. The miles he had travailed to this spot where for a purpose, and that purpose was to find out more about a particular pride. The many rogues he met during the course of his work had brought this certain pride to his attention a fair while ago, but the rumours had been so disturbing that he had needed to seek the council of his best friend, and then the chief, Eytucan before finally deciding to see for him self. He was male, so at least he wasn't in any danger of being captured, but the pride's whole philosophy deeply disturbed him.
Sighing softly he let his mind wander back to his pride, his best friend Kaym and his young priestess, Jubes. Sometimes he wondered why he had accepted the post of Toruk, but he only had to think back to the Great Wars, and a shudder slid down his spine. Never again would he let such strife and pain tear his homeland apart.
So, Toruk he was and currently he was out here... staring at something very, very red...? Blinking he squinted a little against the sun and tried to pick out what it was just beyond the tall grasses. Remembering what he had come here to do, he altered direction and started towards the red shape, muscles tense and ears back.

It didn't take very long for Kichaa to notice Tsa approaching her. She had lazily looked in his direction and saw the blue male with his odd markings approaching her with his ears flat against his head and his body tense in his steps. Kichaa's heart raced, her mind jumping to the only conclusion she knew: They knew she had left, and they were coming to drag her back.
Kichaa wasn't about to allow them to drag her back to those horrible lands, and she snapped up onto her feet, adolescent hackles raised as she let out a very high pitched growl-hiss combo towards the male as he approached. She wouldn't let this male take her back without a fight, even if it cost her her very life.
"Who're you?!" She demanded, the obvious nervousness and panic in her voice as she spoke, "Where are you from?! Tell me now!"

The red blob revealed itself to be a young lioness, most likely an adolescent by the looks of things. Straightening, Toruk tilted his head, startlingly bright yellow eyes watching her even as all trace of coiled energy faded away from the blue body. Though he was still very much aware of her, for she was quite clearly upset and anxious.
Ears pricking forwards he let his tail wind slowly and casually behind him. "Tsamsiyu'eyng, from the Iknimaya pride." He raised his voice enough that she could hear him easily, but not so he was yelling at her. Staying put where he was, he studied her quietly, his own calm manner unruffled. "Pardon me if I startled you."

"I....I don't know what that is," She said, her face starring at him disapprovingly.
She had never heard of such a pride, not even from the Rogue males or females who joined the U'W while she was there. She didn't even know if he was telling the truth or not. The constant worry that she could be dragged back to that awful place by any male that crossed her path kept Kichaa on edge.
"Why does your fur sparkle like that?" Kichaa asked quietly, never having seen such a sight before. She had seen her fair share of coat patterns from her old prison, but nothing ever like his. The little twinkling dots on his fur reminded her of the night-time sky and the light it cascaded down, helping her find her way on her own, "They're like stars..."

His expression turned slightly apologetic. "No.. you wouldn't... My pride is very secretive, not many outsiders know of us." Only those who's ancestors originally came from the Iknimaya, scattered by the Great War, would even suspect of the forest-dwelling tree-climbers in their coats of blue. He stayed still as she slowly stopped bristling quite so much, watching as curiosity started to mingle with the fear in her eyes.
At her question he glanced at his own flank, muscles flexing with his movement, making the small bio luminescent dots in his coat shimmer faintly despite the bright light of daytime. "I don't really know... most of my pride have them." he turned back to her, the gems at his throat and chest shimmering just like his markings. "It is common in my homeland." He studied her for a long moment, knowing he was getting closer to the pride he had been searching for. From what he knew of them, they didn't let their females leave freely, but she was jumpy and scared enough to have escaped from somewhere bad. Maybe she was trying to run away from the pride he hunted?
"May I ask your name?" He replied gently, tone careful.

"No, names. Names are bad," Kichaa half-snapped, spooking herself and looking around to make sure she had not drawn attention to the two of them. She was still far to close to the Ukuucha'Wafalme for comfort, and there was not guarantee that there weren't Pesar or Pads roving about the Rogue Lands.
"If you knew Chacha's name, they might fin-" Kichaa didn't notice what she had done until she had done it and out of absolute embarrassment plunked her face into her dusty paw. In her frazled desperation, she had forgotten to watch how she spoke and reverted to addressing herself as she did as a child.
She sighed heavily, and with a somewhat defeated and sour face she said, "Chacha is my name. No more questions about me, ok? You'll get me caught."
Kichaa was far from the clever type of girl. More free-spirited than calculating and she still hadn't developed the necessary skills to guard her facts. The most clever thing she did was plan her own escape and beg and plead for her brother to help her. It still wasn't as planned as now Kichaa had a bald spot on her tail and it was scabbed over from the bleeding prompted by her ripping out her own tail hair.

Tsamsiyu started to nod when she demanded no names, only to stop midway through the motion with a surprised blink. Hoping her slip wouldn't completely frighten her away, he offered her a warm, gentle smile. Her face-paw motion made humor shine in the big lions eyes, but it was a kind and sympathetic expression.
"Alright Chacha." He returned in a gentle tone. "My name is Tsamsiyu'eung." It wasn't much, but he couldn't afford to give too much of himself away either, though for different reasons. Pausing he regarded her, wanting to help but uncertain if she would let him. Carefully he ventured another question.
"I take it you are escaping from a pride that lives round here?" He watched her gently, hoping she wouldn't bolt before he could persuade her to accept his help. "I'm a warrior in my own pride... maybe I could help you get away from here?" He kept his voice gentle, soothing, hoping she would believe him enough to let him help her. Even if she didn't trust him."

Kichaa's ears pinned back to her head at the moment of having escaped a certain pride in the area. Had he heard of them? It seemed so, but this claim that he was a warrior from another pride could be a trap. Possibly? Very possible to her. She pondered this for a moment before letting her ears flick upright and back down once more.
She gave him a stern look, "A warrior? So you fight?"
Kichaa took another moment to let this process, although her questions were more rhetorical than actually inquisitive. He was offering her an escorted escape, a means of making sure she was far from here without being taken back. She needed to weigh this, but she also needed something more valuable from him than safe passage.
"...Mr. Tsamsiyu'eung," She started, sighing heavily, "I appreciate your offer, but why do you want to help Chacha? What is in it for you Mr.? Where I no longer come from, help from a man is a curse and a trap that turns you into a breeding slave. Why help me?""

He let her think it through, standing quiet and patient and trying to look as non-threatening as a big, blue, decorated lion could possibly look. A feat greatly helped by the kindness in his eyes and patient expression. Her question received a quiet nod but nothing more, as it was no true question and he did not want to stress her out any more than she already was. Keeping her quiet and calm was as important as her believing he meant what he said.
When at last she turned back to him and spoke, he listened patiently, though her words surprised him. "A slave?" Frowning faintly he shook his head. "I wish to help because it is the right thing to do. I am strong and I can fight, you clearly are worried by something and appear to be in need. Where I am from it is seen as a noble thing to offer aid to someone in need.I wish nothing in return, except maybe the general direction this slave pride lays in. I would not ask you to show me, just to point the way once you were safely far enough away from them." Calm amber eyes regarded her, waiting for her to decide if she would accept his words or not.

Kichaa was still not sure if she should believe the big blue male before her, but his surprising reaction to referring to being a slave did strike her a** odd. Had it been a Pad or Pesar they most certainly would have openly rejected it and told her it was her place, as many had done before. Perhaps he was truthful and did want to help.
"You want me to point you to them?" She questioned, her ears flicking up and surprise in her eyes. "That place is not a friendly place to outside males unless they are going to join. They are afraid that outside people will change things. That they'll tell the Banu, erm....The girls, that the life they were raised to expect isn't the only life there is."
Kichaa stopped for a moment, a look of concern on her face. She didn't want to be responsible for any harm that came to this male if he were to be beaten for being curious. It would make her so sad, and only remind her how her actions cause harm to others, like Nesrin.
"In that place, Chacha was called a Banu, but I'm sure if it wasn't for the fact I kept to myself, they would call me Kajira. Kajira are females that don't follow the pride's ways, or fight the males because they don't want to be forced to be mates. When you're Kajira they beat you, and they pass your around like a kill. It's ok for them to hurt you, because you're Kajira," She frowned heavily, trying not to cry at the thought. "You're judge by your actions, and by the actions of your mother. And your actions carry onto your daughters. You don't even get to choose your mate... or at least, very few males let their daughters choose."
She hated that place so much, and having to talk about, or more or less warn Mr. about, her time there only made her belly churn and lit with a fire the color of her coat. Her maw turned small with a very stern look, "I will tell you which way they go, and you will help me leave here safely. But I have a favor to ask you. Will you tell all the women you meet, lion or otherwise, how bad a place it is?"

By the time she finished talking, his heart had twisted sharply inside his chest and settled into a steady ache for the pain she had obviously suffered. He wanted to take her back with him, to offer her shelter in his own pride for she certainly seemed to need a place to rest and recover, if only temporarily, but her coat was a brilliant crimson so bright when it caught the light that is pained his eyes a little, unused as he was to such a hot, burning colour. He wondered if he could ask for special dispensation for her... but then she would have to leave once she had recovered and that meant a rogue wandering the outlands who knew where his pride was.... Honor warred with loyalty within his chest as he watched her, wanting to help but unsure just what help was the best kind to offer.
Finally he nodded, offering her a gentle smile. "That I can promise. I will warn the females I meet to stay away. And I don't want to actually go all the way to the pride." He added, hoping to reassure her. "I just need to get close, to see what the pride is like, how big it is and what the terrain is like..." He would also be looking for warriors, their strength and number, and weather or not the pride was mobile or had the capacity to mobilize in war. But these things he kept to himself so as to not alarm her further.
"I will take you where ever you wish to go, and I promise, on my honor, that they wont take you back while I am with you. You wont have to be a banu or a kajira ever again." he watched her, concerned and he hoped that when she found a place to call home, she was able to recover from what had happened to her in this so-called pride, to forget the sorrow so clear in her gaze at this moment, and find happiness one day.
