Oracle ran as fast as her legs could take her to the plaza near the middle of Ikebokuro, she was having a bit of trouble running in her heels, but she was getting used to it. She pulled at her light lace jacket so that she didn't lose it as she ran. She had a date to meet with Jin again and this time they were finally going to get their paws on a chinese apple that Oracle had told her new friend about when they had first met. It had been quite some time since that first meeting but the two girls had quickly become as close as if they were sisters. Lose blonde curls bounced around the Manx-absynnian mixes shoulders as she bound forward, worrying herself that she was going to be late. As the plaza started to come into view she slowed herself a little and caught her breath. Holding a hand to her chest she smiled and gave a deep sigh of relief and fiddled with the small necklace that hung around her neck as she walked as a slightly speedy pace to the place where she had promised to meet Jin. She'd been busy with training as a healer as of late and hadn't been able to get out to see Jin as much as she would have liked, but she'd made sure that she would not miss today as it would be the first of the shipments of the chinese apples and they would be at their best. Up ahead she could see the little fruit stall and her mouth began to water a bit and she licked her dark stained lips. Trotting up to the stall she looked about, the chinese apples hadn't been set out yet, but she could smell the fresh fruits that had been dropped off early that morning, the fruit would all be looked over before it was set out to make sure nothing bad got in with the good, all it took was one bad fruit to ruin the whole batch.
Jin had been looking forward to this day for so long. She couldn't be more excited today. She smiled as she moved through the trees from the Ruins. She leaped over rocks and fallen branches easily. She had sneakers on today, her heels had gotten ruined when she found a mud puddle that she hadn't noticed, so they were being washed. She leaped off a log and landed in the park, looking around as she caught her breath she adjusted her necklace and skirt before hurrying through the park towards the Plaza. She wanted to see Oracle so badly. She...was still confused about why she wanted to see her so badly but she knew that she had been looking forward to this all week. She hurried through the streats looking for the blond before finding her ahead looking over the fruit stand already. "ORACLE!" She called out happily as she hurried over. She smiled as she stopped next to the other and smiled, panting softly as she pushed her hair back. "I'm glad you were still able to come today. I wasn't sure if you would get the time off." she said as she hugged her friend.
Oracle squealed and grabbed onto her friend tightly rocking side to side with her, grinning from ear to ear, the feel of Jin against her, her sweet scent was so precious to her and it the feelings were really starting to confuse her in many ways. Why was it she didn't look at boys like so many others, liek the way her mother looked at her father, how Asha looked at Raco...she'd never seen any real interest in boys, was she just weird? Letting go of her friend she stood back and admired her outfit, still smiling. "You look so cute today Jin!" she giggled and picked lightly at her friends hair and looked back up to the stand of fruit at last, feeling the butterflies in her stomach again. She was starting to get them more often when she looked at Jin for too long, it made no sense at all to her. "They should have the apples in the back, they were supposed to come in early this morning." she said, relaxing a bit. "Oh I wouldn't miss this for the world Jin! You know that, busy or not, I'm not gonna break my plans. Ishtar wasn't to happy with me about it, but I told him I made a promise." she looked back at Jin with a smile.
Jin smiled as she enjoyed the hug. Oracle just felt so good when they hugged. And it had been a little while since she had seen the other, she had missed her so much. And she smelled extra amazing today. she didn't know why but she did. "Oh thanks. I love this skirt." she said with a smile as she wiggled her hips in it. She looked at the other and smiled. "Though you look awefully cute in that outfit too." she said with a smile as she watched her and looked at the fruit stand. "Oh good! I was hoping that it would come in on time! It would be sad if they didn't." she said as she looked at her. "I wouldn't either. I left class early to come here to be with you." she said with a smile. She had moved onto dancing a little when she had gotten used to the rhythem of her own body. She was taking hip hop dancing at the univercity. "I'm sure he'll understand. We'll save some for him for you to take with you, would that help him feel better?" she asked as she took Oracles hand and lead her over to the side of the stand to get a better look on when the fruit would come out.
Oracle felt her tan cheeks blush with the compliment, she was glad that the stand took Jin's attention, it didn't take much for Jin to make Oracle blush and she was always doing it. It wasn't that Jin was trying to make her blush, it just seemed like every other thing Jin said to her made her blush and feel the burn and rush of blood not only in her face but her entire body. "They should have them in the back. If we sneak back there, I'm sure we can steal one without getting noticed. They'll be looking through everything anyways so they likely won't notice us at all if we're quick." she said eadging around the corner of the tent behind the stall. The sweet smell of the fruit and the pungent scent of rotten fruit in the garbage bins in the back as well, but even the rotting fruit had a sweetness to it that drew you in. "I'm sorry you had to leave early, but we'll make it worth it. We're both good for the rest of the evening." she said with a shrug. She couldn't dance like Jin, she didn't have the ability to keep up with the beat of music, but her training as a healer had forced her to learn other skills like the rest of the Anbu, many of the things she never thought she would have been able to, but she was learning, though slower than most. "I'll bring him some back, dunno if he'll eat it, but nothing wrong with a peace offering." she laughed and wrinkled her nose.
Jin smiled at her and poked her friends red cheeks. "I almost never remember what color you really are cause your red so much." she said with a smirk. "It makes you cuter though." she said with a wink as she looked up at the fruit stand. "Oh we'll be fast enough. Do we want one to share or one for each of us?" she askd with a smile as she looked over the other with a smiled. "I didn't mind leaving early we were going over something i've already mastered already." she said happily. She smirked and bumped her hip against Oracles. "You bet were set for the night! Im not letting you go home anytime soon!" she said with a smile as she moved closer, her hand still holding Oracles. "Peace offerings are always good arnt they." she said with a smile as she wiggled her tail at Oracle.

Biting at her lip Oracle looked away, feeling the butterflies in her stomach again. But as Jin turned back to the fruit she regained herself. "One should be more than enough, they are actually pretty big and oddly filling for such small seeds." she said with a slight shrug. "That's good, Ishtar and me rarely go over anything twice unless we really need too, he says I learn really quickly and remember things better than most." she didn't understand why, it was almost as though she had an eidetic memory but not quite that good, but close enough. Witht eh promise of not being allowed to go home soon a great smile spread over her face, one she didn't let Jin see. "Good because I wouldn't let you either." she answered but turned back to Jin and held a finger to her lips, letting her friend to know to be silent. Peaking around the end of the tarp covered the small tent full of the freshly dropped of produce Oracle's thin amber eyes looked over all of the crates, looking for the chinese apples, her nose twitching as she searched out the scent as well and her ears pricked and moving in all directions listening for any humans. Pulling Jin behind her she led her back, thtough the great stacks of crates full to the bursting with fresh fruits.
Jin was more then excited about this. She was glad to hear that the one would be enough. She walked with her when she was told to be quiet and smiled happily as she walked with her. This was going to be so much fun! The best day ever! She got to spend it all with Oracle and she got to try the new fruit that her friend had told her about on their first meeting! She was fit to bursting and she looked forward to it even mroe as they snuck in and looked for the fruit. "I'll distract him and you grab the fruit ok? Since you know what it is your getting." she said with a smile as she let go of her friends hand and leaped up onto the humans shoulder to distract him so that Oracle could grab the fruit. She didn't attack, just rubbed wanting attention from him so he didn't notice the other cat.
Oracle tried to grab her friend before she leapt for the human but tried too late and before she knew it Jin was rubbing against him. She felt the blood drain from her face, it would ahve been easier if Jin had stayed with her more rather this Chinese apples weren't like most fruit that were light in weight they were much heavier, now she prayed that the fruit would be kept in a low area so that when she pulled it out of the crate the sound of it hitting the ground wouldn't make so much noise as to attract his attention even with Jin distracting him. Moving quickly she searched from crate to crate, desperate to get it over with as quickly as she could and get out. Biting her lip again hard enough to make it hurt she was getting frustrated until she finally caught sight of the crate, there were only two full of the fruit, meaning this was the first of the crop and they would be quite expensive for the humans to buy and even more closely watched until the next shipment came it, and lucky for her they were't high, enough for her to reach in on the tips of her toes and roll it out without much trouble. It took a matter of a minute to get the fruit and place it heavily on the ground, it was a nice one, fresh and sweet smelling, heavy witht he weight of the juice packed seed pouches inside. She rolled it to the edge of the tent where she could escape under it. She debated for a moment and then pushed the fruit under into the open and let out a large yowl, loud even for her to let Jin know she was out and took off with the fruit as fast as she could, back toward the apartments that were just behind the plaza towards the msall clearing where they could break into the fruit together.
Jin smiled as she let the human pet her and purred. She hadn't had any bad experiences with the humans, yeah she had been in the facility but she had gotten out young enough and they hadn't done anything to her. She watched Oracle leave and quickly leaped away before the human could keep her and scurried out of the tent and hurried after Oracle. She smiled as she ran excitedly. She stopped at the plaza that Oracle was sitting infront of and smiled. "That was fun! Thats an odd looking fruit." she said as she sat and panted after her run and looked at the large fruit in her friends hands
Oracle nodded, leaning on the fruit that nearly stood up to her waist and caught her breath, she could see all the nearly empty buildings around her, the place had been recently refurbished and was starting to house more and more humans which would more more and more stray cats at some point. but for now it was quite a nice place for many cats to live and even as some humans trickled into the apartments some of them were kind enough to leave out food for some of the cats who called the Yorino Apartments their home. Smiling up at Jin she laughed. "Yeah it looks really weird, but it's what's inside that's so amazing, I'm gonna need your help to get it open." she said with a smile and dug her nails into the flesh of the fruit and started to pull away at it, digging towards the seeds.
Jin smied at her and dug in with her nails too and pulled at the skin of the fruit. "Oh it smells better now! I cant wait!" she said with a smile as she watched as the middle was exposed and smiled.
It wasn't long before the fruit was bursting with the seeds encased in a thin bright red membrane that held the sweet and tangy juice of the pomegranate. Careully picking out a couple of seeds she handed one to Jin and smiled. "Bon Appetite!" she said as she pulled the seed nearly the size of her thumb and bite into the membrane and sucked the juice out, turning the membrane transparent and thin leaving on the paper thin skin and the small white seed in the middle. Oracle made a face at the strong tang of the fruit, it was delicious, but it was her first in a year and she had to adjust to it's taste again, so strong and pungent, but so addictive to her that she couldn't help but immediately pull out another seed and repeat herself.
Jin smiled at the smell of the fruit. It was quite wonderful and strong. She wondered if the fruit would be as strong tasting as the smell was. "Thank you." she said with a smile as she took the little seed that Oracle handed her and copied how she ate it. Her eyes popped wide at the delicious juice that filled her mouth from the little seed. She made a small face at how strong it was but smiled. "Thats really good!" she said with a smile as she grabbed a few more seeds, watching as her fingers turned a red-purple color, and ate a few more with a smile.
Oracle sat on the grass and the two of them dug deeper and deeping into the casm filling with the sweet juice covered seeds "Now you can see why I like these so much. I like these better than anything else, even meat. But I know I have to eat meat, so I still do, Ishtar pokes some fun at me because I prefer fruits." she shrugged, she loved her brother though, he was so important to her and as her teacher in learning to heal as well, it was best to stay on his good side as he was able to bring his moods easily into his work if on aggitated him. It didn't take too long for her to fill up on the fruit, her fingers sticky and stained she licked at them to clean them or at least take the horrible uncomfortable feeling of stickiness on her hands. There was still plenty left of the fruit for her to bring back for Ishtar and even more where that had come from. "I can't eat anymore." she laughed and laid back in the soft grass.
Jin smiled as she ate several more of them. She didn't eat as many as Oracle did, the tartness of the juice started to make he rmouth feel dry and she sat there watching Oracle with the last few as she cleaned her own fingers. Oracle was so cute! Why did she think that it would be bad to tell the other that she was cute...and that she liked her. She was sure it was as more then a friend but she didn't know what to tell her. She lay out on the grass next to Oracle and stretched as she looked at her purple fingers. "I look like i was painting with finger paints like i did when i was little." she said with a giggle as she wiggled her purple fingers at Oracle.
Oracle looked at her friend hands and held up her own, still stained, the color would fade as the rest of the day did, but she was right. "It does look like that doesn't it. Those were the days weren't they? So care free, no real responsibilities, just being a kid. I miss that sometimes." she said rolling onto her side and propped her head on her hand, looking at her friend Jin, she felt the butterflies again and silently cursed them in her mind, what the hell was it about Jin that made her feel that way, no one else did that to her! She'd been around plenty of boys, some part of her was hardwired to tell her she was supposed to like boys, but she didn't see the appeal in them at all, she'd never confessed it to anyone and for a long time she had written it off as she hadn't 'matured' to that point yet, but by now that should have changed, was there something wrong with her? "Hey Jin, you ever feel weird around some people?" she asked pushed a few strands of pale blonde hair from her eyes.
Jin smiled at her and nodded as she arched her back in the grass and stretched more. "Yeah i miss that. Im sure my dads still have hand paintings i did for them someplace, though they might not admit it." she said with a smile as she giggled a little at the idea. She looked at Ocacle and wanted to touch her face but she held back. Couldn't scare of fher best friend. She smiled at her as she asked her a question. Yes i do...around you...but i cant tell you that. How do i tell you that! Oh gosh i want to tell her...what do i say. she thought to her self as she looked at her and smiled. "Yeah i guess i do sometimes. Though it depends on what you mean by weird. Most boys i feel weird around cause i want to kick them in the bals cause their always trying to touch my butt." she said as she rolled to her side, getting closer to Ocacle, and looked over her shoulder at her butt. "Why would they want to touch it all the time? Its just a butt..." she said as she swished her large fluffy tail and looked at Oracle with a smirk.
Oracle giggled, she painted more with mud and drew pictures in the sand with her elder sister Raina, the paints she did use had been made from the pigments of berries found around the wood, those really had been the good days. With her question an odd sense of aura came from her friend, one that made her shft a little and feel uncomfortable, almost wishing she'd kept her mouth shut. But she trusted Jin, if there was anyone she could talk to it was her! Shaking her head though she sat up and hugged her knees to her chest. "No, not like that...I've never felt that way, but I get what you mean. No one has ever grabbed me, but I've caught boys looking before, I don't see the appeal either, I don't have a pretty tail or anything thats distracting." she chanced a glance over at Jin's beautifully fluffy tail. "But sometimes I get this really weird feeling in my stomach, like butterflies going crazy and bouncing around, trying to get out and it can make me feel sick sometimes. But only when I look at them, and sometimes when I think about them." she shrugged and hid behind her blonde curls, mimicing a move she'd seen her mother doa hundred time when she didn't want to be looked or just to hide from what was around her.
Jin smiled at her and listened to what she was saying. She blushed a little as she sat up infront of Oracle and leaned around her hair to look at her friend. She felt sad cause it sounded like her friend liked someone. "It sounds like you like this person. I...I get just like that sometimes when i'm around the person i like." she said softly. It hurt to think that her friend liked someone...Of course she would Oracle was beautiful. She smiled as she pet her friends hair. "You just have to tell them, then the butterflies would go away." she said with a smile even though all her butterflies felt like they had just been shot and told they would never get to fly happy and free ever again. Oracle liked someone else and Jin was sure there was no way she could like her back...Smiling warmly still she tried to hide the sadness at the idea of someone else having Oracle.
Oracle bit and chewed on her lip, her amber eyes unable to meet with Jin's it was bad enough her stomach felt like it was trying to fly out of her mouth. It was only made worse by Jin's touch, but when Jin mentioned she felt that way too around the person she liked her heart sunk, tempted to ask, she was the one who had brought up the subject, it was better if she went first, but that was quite hard for the always timid female. "Are you sure they'll go away, what if they don't like me back?" she asked looking up briefly before averting her eyes again, Jin was so pretty, her hair, the way she moved, the way she could make any outfit look like she'd just stepped off a run way at a fashion show. Sure Jin always told her she was pretty and she tried hard to be, especially when she was around Jin, her own mother was gorgeous and her father was amazing as well, it almost made her doubtful of herself sometimes while others even she had to admit she was pretty.
Jin looked at the grass as she sighed. "I guess. My brothers all said they felt better after they told their now boyfrinds or girlfriends they liked them...I haveing told the one i like yet...Too scared. But that only makes my butterflies worse so i'm sure yours feel the same." she said softly. Her butterflies all felt dead inside right now. She felt them all turning to rocks. She was helping the girl that she really liked, the only one who had made her feel like this, get ready to tell who ever this other person was that she liked them. Her Oracle...she looked up at Jin, her eyes finally showing her sadness. "I'm sure that who ever it is will like you back so you don't need to be worried...How could someone not like you..." she said softly as she reached out and pushed Oracles hair back and touched her face and smiled softly.
Oracle felt her face burn redder than ever, if Jin said it would make her feel better then it would be worth it. She needed it so bad, it was starting to drive her insane. She say the sadness in her friend's eyes and didn't quite understand it, why did Jin look upset, she was the one with the butterflies trying to leap out of her throat. The touch of Jin's hand was so soft and tender with those red-purple stained fingers. "You promise I'll feel better Jin, I mean really, because it's been eating at me for a really long time." she said taking her friend's hand and holding it in her own, unable to look at Jin again, but focused on her hand, squeezing lightly, wishing Jin wouldn't look so sad.
Jin smiled though it didn't reach her eyes. "Of course. Everyone tells me they do. I'll go with you to tell them ok? And if they don't like you i'll beat them up till they see how stupid their being. Ok. I wont have my best friend upset cause someones was stupid enough to not like you back." she said softly even though her throat felt tight like she was about to start crying. Damn this was hard. She squeezed Oracles hand back softly letting her know she was there for her friend, even if helping Oracle get together with this cat she liked was breaking her into a million pieces.
Oracle took a deep and shaky breath and gave a nervous laugh, "It's okay, I believe you." she said and squeezed her friend's hand tighter and chewed on her lip. it was eating her alive and she was building ever microgram of courage she had in her body, and by this point it wasn't all that much courage, but for her friend's sake she had to do it, even if it meant being turned away, it would hurt like hell, but Jin promised she would feel better and she wasn't about to deny her friend, Jin wouldn't lie to her, she never had, why would she start now, especially over something like this, these were the types of the things that friends were for, but also the fear of Jin rejecting her brought on a new fear that Jin would be disgusted with her and shun her, but maybe it was a chance she had to take rather than slowly eating herself alive from the inside out. "Jin...." she said quietly and intertwined her fingers into Jin's. "Jin, you're the one who turns my stomach over, make me feel like I swallowed live butterflies who try to escape every time I look at you..." she whispered her voice getting quieter as the word spilled from her mouth and he fought back tear of fear.
Jin looked at her and saw her thinking over it. She was about to ask her if there was a problem with her telling the person that she liked them. But then she...intertwined her fingers with hers. They didn't hold hands like that...what was going on? She looked up at her and frowned as she listened to her. She felt life flowing back into the butterflies in her stomach. Her? Oracle liked...her? She tightened her grip on the others hand and smiled happily as she pulled her close and did the only thing her mind could tell her, to kiss her. She kissed her softly on the lips and hugged her. "Oracle really? Do you really mean that! Cause your the one i ment who makes me want to fly, makes me want to do anything to make you smile." she said as she hugged her and nuzzled the girl happily. She could see that she was worried about telling her this and she wanted to make her smile again. "Don't look sad please you just made my day." she said with a smile as she nuzzled her some more.
Oracle gasped as she was pulled against Jin and the touch of her lips was like silk, but it still shocked her, almost making her jerk back out of fear, it was her first kiss and she hadn't even been expecting it, by all means she was stuck in a state of pure shock, how was it Jin felt the same for her, that they had been friends all this time had it had been like a secret from one another? It was like it was all too surreal, some sweet dream that she was going to wake up from any moment and look around her and pound her fist against the bark of the hollow she slept in with her sisters, muttering to herself how it wasn't fair, but even after the kiss she didn't wake up, it all still felt real, too real, the fear and shock was too strong for it not to be real, word failed her though and the only thing she could do was wrap her arms around Jin and bury her head into Jin's neck, squeezing tighter onto her friend, the girl she felt more than friendship for. But a part of her mind was still wrapped around something that bothered her. She liked a girl, not a boy, wasn't she supposed to like boys? She couldn't bring herself to focus on it for the time being, the sense of relief drained her and she just sat there in Jin's arms, a safe haven for her, one of the few.
