My magick names are: Joshua Augustine Algode, Ainion Veron Elwes, Sai Kurosaki and Adémar Faucon... they are kind of... "split" personalities I have.

There are a few things I've been wondering about "magic names" in general...
What exactly IS a "magical name"?
What is the purpose of such a thing?
How does one get/find a "magical name"?
Does a person choose it for themselves or is it given to them?
If its the former, how is the name that the person has chose a "magical name"?
If its the latter, what authority does the namer have to bestow such a name?
(And a side note: Why does this guild have to threads about magical names? There can't really be THAT much to discuss about them. Is the second thread necessary?)

in the old day a magick name was used much like a nick name it was believed that bad spirits could use your name to get to you so parents called there kids by something else so that the spirits could not call to them but its also the name you use when working with your . deitys it more personal then your given name.some cultures give names to there ppl like a brave could get his name from the shaman or they may take the name of there totem or there spirit guide could help them as for me ive always been drawn to dragons and and some ppl use numerology to find theres and for me dragon works perfect .as far as why this is here this is a teaching guild and theres no better way then word of mouth.

anytime also im sorry there are too this is not my guild but the leader and coleader are busy and ive been makeing all the post and adding ppl sice im crew i may have made too of them by mistake i have a guild of my own and am a member of a few others so i have been really over worked and i am like every one else i make mistakes nice talking to ya

My Craft names happens to be Katherine Panthea, and is Greek, just like my Pantheon. It means "Pure of the Gods" and Im very much attracted to it. It also matches my Numerology number of my birth date which is 3. I found that Hecate, the Goddess of Magick that I pray to often when I do magick, approves.

I don't know, I'll check it out. I like this one, Tamber of the Eastern Wind, because at night I'm found singing eastern songs to the moon. Then there is the Daydreaming Moonrise Mage. sweatdrop

I was given the name by my primary guide and I checked it useing numerology only recently to find that it worked for me even with it. The titles that go with it I'll leave out for now.
