Beloved Aggressor

Saiorse laid in the dying sun, her sides half heaving as she rested. Oh, how she ached. Her wounds had long since stemmed their bleeding, but the damage remained regardless. Even as her belly was full, and her thoughts contented, there was pain. There was fever. A shiver ran over the lioness's hide as she lay in the grasses.
[20:48] coyotesparrow: A groan left her sides, and the lioness was only barely aware of the presence of the other lioness. Was she even still there? She couldn't be sure. Her wounds ached horribly, and as the chill of night set in, the lioness could do little more than shiver in the grasses..

Rags had been watching her the entire night. Off to the side just barely out of view. If the young lioness would have moved her head if only just a little bit then she would have seen her; would have noticed her lying there. She had gone off at least once in the time that Saiorse had been lying there to gather things. to cleanse the poor dear. But for a price. Because she firmly believed in the pride ideals. Everything with a price. After a few moments Rags moved in closer to the dear once she saw that shiver; sitting above her with a rigid back. Her head held high and slightly lofty. In an authoritative way; or in a magical way... As if she was the queen of the land of the lost or dead coming to take her home. "You're close to death child. but I can save you." She purred to her in a silky soft tone.

Saiorse's eyes parted after a moment. Why did things echo so in her head? Why was everything so loud, and so fuzzed at the same time? One moment, the lioness was sweating, the next, freezing. Everything she saw, swirled and fuzzed together. It was impossible to focus on any one things. Then came the voice. "...But I can save you.."
The words were painfully clear, and completely inaudible all at the same time. "...Save.. me?" Her voice was weak, crackling in the night. She could barely understand..

"Yes~" She whispered to her almost like a serpent. She did in fact feel like a serpent; if he was still alive... He would have been so proud of her. Would have applauded her after-wards and maybe even given her an affectionate nuzzle... But this wasn't the time to think of such things. pushing those painful thoughts back into the a dark spot of her mind she circled the young lioness. "Yes~ I can save you." She repeated; her voice going a little softer; though still clear and audible. "But you have to make it worth my while. We have to trade something. Something that would be worth your life."

Saiorse slowly shook her head--a movement that should have been easy and flowing but was now jarring, and painful. Was this death? Was she making her way there? Those thoughts should have been terrifying, but they came only idly to a mind that could hardly comprehend them in such a fever dulled mind. "...What.. What do you mean?" Her voice came between gasping breaths, fighting for air. Why was it so hard to breathe?

Rags could see how close she was and for a moment she wasn't even sure if she could honestly save her. But she would make it happen. She would be able to make this work. She would get what she wanted. And she would steal her children away. She leaned in close no longer afraid that she might lash out in some way at her and told her point blank. "I want your first litter. Give them to me and I'll let you live to see another day. You already wreak of pregnancy. And now you wreak of death. Don't make them suffer." She added on. She added on. Though to be honest she wasn't even sure if this lioness was even pregnant. But in her death haze. Maybe she could scare her into believing that she was.

Saiorse's fragile mind was sent reeling. Pregnant? There was no way.. She was Pregnant?! Her fevered mind was so willing to believe the lie. It was so easy to twist. Perhaps if her mind had been clearer, she might have been able to see through it so easily.. But now.. "My litter?" Her sides heaved, quickening as she so readily believed the lie. "..I am.. Pregnant?"

Rags smiled wide when she so easily believed the lie nodding her head though she doubted she would really notice it; or even care. "That's right." She told her calmly. "such a pity. That the cubs won't live to see the sun." She purred to her putting on a mock pained expression. "Unless~" She started slowly. "Unless you say yes. One little word my dear; that's all it will take. And I can end your pain and save you. Just say it. Agree to my proposition." She wanted to shout it to her; she wasn't sure how much longer the girl had. And she was starting to get anxious. But if there was one thing she had learned from her years of dealing with others as a goblin; as a high ranked goblin. Was to always keep your cool.

Grief swelled in a fever maddened mind. Though she was maddened enough to believe the lie, the lioness was not daft enough to dismiss the death of her unborn cubs, or the death of herself, for that matter. But to lose them either way? It was so wrong, so saddening.. Tears welled in the fever ridden eyes. "Yes.. Yes.. Take them.." If she hadn't been so weak, she would have sobbed. Little things she hardly knew.. They would be gone before she could even get to know them... The lioness slipped away, lost to the wills of fever and sickness. The deal was made, and it would be something she would never be able to take back.

Rags smiled in an eerie manner. She would be following this lioness closely for the next few months then it seemed. She reached into one of her many bags and pulled out a plant that would dull the pain and make her sleep. "Eat this~" She instrecuted sticking it into her mouth and waiting for her to chew it and swallow. She waited for her to fall asleep before pulling out her needles and thread; beginning first by drenching her in water; cleaning off the wounds and adding a few pastes that she had on hand at all times. Once the pastes were applied she set to work sewing her wounds closed. making sure to make them nice and tight and then adding another layer of the paste. Before taking tall grasses and wrapping around her affected areas. Once she was done she smiled. The lioness would sleep for quite some time now... But Rags would stay as close as she could before she woke up... And then she would be gone. Only to reappear again to check over her wounds while she slept.
