Nadhir had left with the dawn of morning, avoiding his siblings and parents as he crept out of the den. They didn't need to know that he was leaving, it would have made things much more complicated. His brother would be waiting, he knew, until the pridal celebration showed him the way out. He had no time for any of those trivialities. The visions had been getting stronger, reaching a point where he was often afraid to close his eyes for more than a moment. They came without warning now, dangerous. The fear showed on his face, a mixture of his exhaustion and complete ignorance of the outside world. He knew that he was to go but as he found himself a few miles outside the border, he realized that he truly had no idea where. He was lost, though he wasn't sure someone could be lost without knowing where they were trying to go or what was behind them.

User ImageCubs. Gintare didn't hate them all as a rule, and she didn't hate her own cubs, but she also didn't like to spend a great deal of time with them. They were needy, even when they didn't mean to be, and it was hard to look at them. Particularly Riddiq and Jakyra, who looked so much like their father. There was no denying the cubs' parentage once they were born. They were hard to be around more because of that resemblance than anything else.

So she left them to fend for themselves, longer and longer. It wasn't good parenting. She knew that. But she couldn't really stand to spend lots of time with them. She wasn't a mother at heart, and had no maternal instincts to speak of. At least she knew her cubs wouldn't have any trouble fending for themselves. The girls were all learning to fight and defend themselves from their brothers. Where they'd learned was a mystery to Tare, but she was glad they were learning.

As she prowled away from her offspring Tare noticed a figure approaching. Young, male, and oh she must be near the Ukuucha'Wafalme. That could afford her a good time and a pleasant distraction. Their young pads were always fun to play with. With a predatory grin she began to lope toward the future pad.

Roses. Suddenly he was overcome by the color, unsure of what he was seeing. He stumbled, falling forward so that his chest connected solidly with the ground. He seemed to be staring toward the approaching female, though he had no idea that she was there. His mind was fogged over by the vision of something he had never really experienced, though it felt entirely familiar to him. Comforting. A blissful smile came over his face, giving him quite the appearance of a lost idiot.

Gintare's delight at the prospect of making some future pad's life incredibly difficult faded when she saw her victim stumble and fall to the ground. That wasn't usually how things went, unless the Ukuucha was raising its young men to be much, much more frail than she remembered. Which would have been a great shame. One of her favorite things about the pride was that its males tended to be very take-charge and while also selfish, not too bad in the sack.

She trotted forward, concerned in a way she probably would not have been if she'd encountered a collapsing young lion prior to having a litter of cubs. That was interesting to consider, but a little unsettling as well. Gintare hadn't expected reproduction to change her. Oh, it had changed her life, but there was no reason for it to change her as a person. Except apparently it had. Stupid Arindam and his stupid cubs.

"Hey," she said harshly when she noticed his stupid smile. She refused to succumb to her silly concerned feelings for some stranger. "Are you hurt or sick or something?"

She prodded his shoulder with one paw, though not gently, and sniffed at the air around him in an effort to detect whether he smelled like he was ill.

"I'm fine," Nadhir barked, feeling a new sort of anger when she poked him. She didn't have any right to do that and he shook her off, taking a few staggering steps back. "Don't touch me like you know me," he snapped, feeling the pounding in his head beginning to fade. His father wouldn't appreciate him being rude to a female, even if it was a stranger. "I'm sorry, it's just," he sighed, settling down a few feet from her, "I get visions, it caught me off guard." He paused, pondering what that would mean if she was part of a hunting band. "It won't happen again," he added, wanting to ensure he didn't set himself up as a victim.

Tare's first instinct was to swat him for being an utter a** when she was actually behaving with uncharacteristic concern and solicitude. Ordinarily she was only solicitous when she wanted something, but today she had merely been showing concern for someone who seemed to be injured or unwell.

"You don't look fine," Tare pointed out, irritation making her words clipped and sharp. "That whole collapsing for no apparent reason thing? That's not an indication of being fine. But rest assured I will not be touching you again."

Coming from Gintare, that was probably one of the more unkind things she could have said to a young male. Ordinarily she had no qualms about a bit of light seduction, but this ungrateful wretch had earned her immediate enmity, and thus would not be getting anything more from her besides an enthusiastic farewell as soon as he recovered.

Though his apology mollified her somewhat, she continued to hold herself aloof, even after he explained about his visions. One of her sons, Vaako, experienced something like visions, but to her knowledge they didn't leave him in anything like that state. She was a little curious about that, but not enough that she was going to warm up to him enough to ask. She was still offended.

"A young lion outside of his pride for the first time might do well to learn to exercise some manners," she sniffed. "I'm probably the most friendly stranger you're likely to meet for some time, and I don't take well to being snapped at."
