As some of you may know, I will be going to Japan this spring. However, I intend to go at the peak season for cherry blossom viewing. Does anyone know what this year's cherry blossom forecast is? I've been looking through out the web and can't seem to find it. Even if the forecast for this year is not up yet, does anyone know where I can go to so that I can check periodically? Anything helps. Thanks.

The season does depend on where you're going though...Obviously Northern Japan is much later (ie Sapporo isn't until May) and it can be considerably earlier (like early March) the further south you go.

I look forward to watching the cherry blossoms bloom when I am finally able to go to Japan. They're very beautiful.

I see... thanks! perhaps late March would not be a bad idea for the Tokyo region. Though I can't say I'll stay there long enough.... I'll be all over the country for three weeks. mrgreen

The peak of the cherry blossoms can't really be predicted far ahead of time. So... keep checking a lot. I've heard April is a good time to go.
